Chappers and Dozzell starting for Pompey. Looking forward myself to watching this game. |

For me, after only 5 league games, Matusiwa is more than on a par with Sam, who was brilliant for us. Different styles, so from a playing point of view, unfair to compare. I think after a few more games Matusiwa will have really settled in and with Cajuste, who I think is exceptional and way above Championship standard, will be the best pairing in the Championship. What may be worth comparing is the yellow card count at the end of the season, as Sam was caught out quite often and had to resort to fouling. I don’t think Matiusiwa will get anywhere near as many. That would tell a story. Brilliant win last night. That should set us up to now go on an unbeaten run. |

Wonder if it's actually Chappers house or an ITFC owned house for this purpose. Either way, makes total sense for Nunez to "rent" it. The interesting thing is I wonder what will happen at the end of the season though, as ITFC can invoke the 1 year additional contract for Chappers, presumably then to sell him to Pompey. Or, if we're still in the Championship and we invoke the additional year and want him to play for us if he's had an outstanding season at Pompey. They can then live together . . |

Mine is working too, but the subtitles on Nunez interview is double exposed with a catch line of “l’m a fan of the music, I’m a fan of the music” so can’t see the translation. As I said earlier, Amateurish . . |

Me too and I’m also a subscriber. Poor attention to detail, have found that quite a bit. Amateurish. |

For the majority of Norwich’s fans, incredibly, the 16 years or whatever the number is, is more important than their club basically falling apart and selling their best creative player to ITFC. Their fans should concentrate on the overall picture of “their” club. We’ve been there . . |
 | Forum Reply | Sky analysing the ref accidentally bumping into at 07:35 25 Aug 2025
The ref actually did the "polite" thing by walking behind Bruno after instructing the keeper, rather than in front of him, as that could be deemed as averting Bruno's focus on taking the pen. Obviously Bruno was not confident anyway. To let a simple "accident" get to him is pretty pathetic and to use it as an excuse is even more pathetic. |

Top class post and agree with the vast majority of what you've said. I have a good mate who's a Sunderland fan. Both last season and this we're gobsmacked that KM continues to play Clarke on the right. He was brilliant for Sunderland in that role, surely that's what we bought him for. Not to play him out of position and he really struggles on the right, or in the centre. Also, for me, I'd play Young at RB every day of the week. I can't take to Johnson, really don't think he's good enough. I have the feeling McAteer will be excellent for us and can see him starting v Derby. I also hope Akpom starts v Derby. Some of his touches were excellent yesterday when he came on. Cajuste should also start. He's class and made a difference yesterday. Hirst needs more support. He was poor yesterday, but he didn't get much to work with. I'm sure it we'll ultimately "click" when the right formation is determined. Play players in positions where we get the best from them, that's the start of it. |
 | Forum Reply | Sell on..? at 08:23 17 Aug 2025
I think you're right about a sell-on for Delap, that would have been tricky to negotiate. I'd love to have seen his ITFC contract. I deal with contracts all the time, it would be a really interesting read. On Hutch, like you, I'd be disappointed if it wasn't 25%, but I reckon that would have been hard to get agreement from Forest on. I would imagine these sell-on clauses often relate to the fee paid, i.e. if it's deemed a lowish fee there'll be a higher sell-on %. In Hutch's case, Forest will feel they've paid top dollar for him, so probably would have tried to lower the sell-on %. |

The club has not stated exactly what this "release" clause is and they haven't stated it's £30m. As a businessman, I wouldn't sign an unproven player at this level for £20m (or whatever it was that we paid City) and include a clause that the maximum we could get is £30m. I might sign a clause that said if someone bids £30m it triggers a potential sale at that figure, but then it opens up the possibility of increased offers from elsewhere and obviously the player's potential acceptance of any acceptable deal to the club. I would seriously question our CEO's business acumen if the contract states that the maximum we can get for him is £30m. |

I'm originally a Lowestoft lad, actually played for them back in the day, so I get notifications of their scores. I got the notification "play suspended" and it was either 4-1 or 5-1 when the incident happened, so made no difference to the result. Lowestoft were relegated already, before the match started, so I imagine with Telford being so far from Lowestoft they didn't want to traipse back to reply a dead rubber. Really hope the goalkeeper has recovered. Sounded awful. Made me think back to my playing days and when I used to watch them as a kid. I was there the night the keeper (can't 100% recall his name, begins with "M", Mutton I think) came rushing out to clear a ball and smashed into Rex Butcher's leg. The whole crowd could hear the "crack", dreadful injury. Will never forget that. |

I used to really enjoy Soccer Saturday when Jeff Snelling did it, along with Le Tis, Phil Thompson, Charlie Nicholas, et al. It was fun, in amongst the thrills of the games themselves. Nowadays I just can't watch it. That new presenter can't lace Jeff's boots and Merson, Morrison and Boyd, for me, are useless and barely understandable. They could certainly do a lot better than Mike Dean in the ref's spot too. He seems to have no real personality. The best pundit, actually with the ability to describe something in a succint, descriptive and understandable manner is Sue Smith. She's excellent imho. [Post edited 13 Apr 8:13]

They were actually 6th in the live table before the pen went in. They could well sneak into the playoffs again looking at the form of the clubs around 6th. Would love them to finish 7th, level on points with 6th but having a 1 worse goal difference. |

I totally agree with that as far as throw-ins are concerned. As we're so data-based I wonder if they've done stats on what % of OUR throw-ins cause us to lose possession. That number would be very high. |
