 | News Comment | Selles: We Fell Apart at 10:07:28
It is true that for the first twenty minutes we found it difficult against United’s high and energetic press. Yes, the defection led to our first goal but after that we pounced on every loose ball, were quick and slick with our passing, opened up spaces and were clinical with everything we did. The subs carried on the good work and had their defenders and midfield on the ropes. We made United look poor but it was not simply about Ruben’s tactics. They simply could not contain us. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: A Good Night But Still a Lot to Work On at 00:48:19
Pleased for KMcK tonight. His calm level headed approach to everything is refreshing. His detractors could learn a thing or two about management from him including patience and respect. Tonight we saw many new faces in a team that looked comfortable with each other and that is down to the way KMcK uses his own personal qualities to bring players on. We have the making of a very exciting and talented squad. It’s still work in progress but tonight showcased what we are capable of against a team who pressed high. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 5-0 Sheffield United - Match Report at 22:16:17
A proper team performance . All the new guys looked assured. Some fantastic play down the left. Philogene showed what he is capable of and frightened the pants off of United’s defence. Our mojo is back !! |
 | News Comment | Akpom: I Always Had My Mind Set on Ipswich at 15:17:22
Always good to read why a player wants to join our club. Despite our relegation we are still a club that attracts good players looking for the right environment and style of play. |
 | News Comment | Town Host Table-Propping Blades Targeting First Win at 09:29:02
Sheffield United have clearly had a very similar transfer window to Town; that’s the main point KMcK is making. I didn’t read anything in his comments to suggest he was “bigging up” the opposition as one poster on here wants to read it. SU games have often been quite fiery occasions so I expect a very competitive game tonight. Each and every player in a blue shirt has to give their all and win we must. |

 | News Comment | Young: I've Still Got a Lot to Give On and Off the Pitch at 23:09:52
Young clearly rates KMcK’s skills and attributes. We are having a bit of a blip and I have faith, not blind faith, that our manager can get us up the table in time to be serious contenders for promotion. I would be happy to see Young and Cajuste as joint vice captains now that Chappers is on loan. O’Shea needs support to galvanise the team in my opinion. |
 | News Comment | Szmodics Out of Irish Squad Due to Injury at 18:49:27
Getting an injury playing for Ireland is hardly Town’s fault but if it gives Blueboy and Darkhorse a chance to have a dig they go in feet first to fuel their own sad agenda. Hopefully Szmodics will soon be available. |
 | News Comment | Cajuste: Town Culture Suits Me Perfectly at 12:00:08
Culture is something that is built over time and nurtured by those at the top. Has the culture of the club become damaged by the loss of those players who contributed to the culture of the club over the last three seasons ? It probably has but the architects of that culture were KMcK and Ashton and they still have the same drive, ethics and determination to replicate everything that has been good about the club. Cajuste understands that and I think he could be the one to help O’Shea build leadership within the new group that is now needed. |
 | News Comment | Chaplin: The Best Four Years of My Life at 12:07:05
@Darkhiorse - there are some things in your post that I identify with particularly around leadership within the squad but it is early days. One thing I certainly do not agree with you about is the culture. Paul Cook did not build the culture we so respected in the last few years; that was entirely down to KMcK and Ashton. It will be those two who now have the job of building back up that which has been lost by the departures of those who did so well against expectations ….. but that was then. We now have some incredibly good signings to blend and nurture so let’s look forward not back. |
 | News Comment | Chaplin: The Best Four Years of My Life at 11:57:00
A really lovely man with bags of integrity and honesty. Didn’t want him to go on loan but both he and the club worked something out to suit both parties. Well done. |
 | News Comment | Walle Egeli: As Soon as My Agent Mentioned Ipswich I Wanted the Move at 18:52:51
Excellent authentic and upbeat interview. At least someone is happy after yesterday’s meltdown about Chappers. I was in Norway this summer and I was surprised how many people know of Ipswich and McKenna. Egeli appears to a very bright young man. He must be because he chose ITFC ! |
 | News Comment | Chaplin Set For Pompey Return at 18:21:05
I would imagine that KMcK had a heart to heart with Chaplin and this resulted in a mutual decision to go out on loan with a call back clause. KMcK has bags loads of integrity and honesty and this loan is probably more in the interests of the player than the club, as it was with Morsy. For the club it is a balancing act of doing what is right against upsetting the fans. Chaplin’s 28 goals in League One will always be fondly remembered but isn’t it better that he gets game time in a club he knows than warming the bench here with only an outside chance of starting. I’m sure we will hear more about this from Chaplin and KMcK and my hunch is that we accommodated Chaplin’s wish as much he has accommodated the club’s. |
 | News Comment | Woolfenden Undergoing Coventry Medical at 12:22:29
We all have fond memories of those who took us to the PL but nostalgia rarely improves a squad. The scrutiny and accountability Darkhorse calls for is here already if only he would choose to see it. Not every move in or out will be favoured by all but nobody can deny that the club in the last few days has made some very promising acquisitions . . |
 | News Comment | Blades Linked With Ogbene Loan Talks at 09:48:38
It’s a loan which makes sense. As for Sheffield United being a rival, all the teams in the Championship are rivals. With Mcateer, the new Norwegian lad and Chaplin often moving out to the right, Ogbene will get few opportunities. |
 | News Comment | Travis: Cajuste Tackle Totally Accidental at 16:54:04
Their manager crafted all the time wasting and incidents to slow the game down. When he sent on the last two subs within 30 seconds of each other, it added another minute to the 13 added on. Without that we would not have had the penalty so Derby only have themselves to blame. |
