 | News Comment | Planning Committee Unanimously Backs Aquatics Centre at 16:09:40
Ticks many boxes. More to be pleased about than not at a time when very few Councils can invest in new leisure facilities. Handford Homes is an arms length company set up to enable IBC to do things which Thatcher Governments ourlawed hence the lack of investment in many public facilities that the private sector cannot make a return on. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: It's Becoming More Difficult But It's Not Impossible at 18:35:58
Spot on. Leicester and Southampton should have expected to stay up whereas any team with a double promotion would not. That doesn’t mean we didn’t want to survive, just that we were more realistic. The bookies called it right in terms of the three teams going down but not in the right order. A crumb of comfort but not much ! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: My Full Focus is on Town at 18:31:10
Whilst I await hearing what our owners say in public, I do hope that those who bang on about our owners being overly concerned about our obvious relegation take note of what KMcK has to say about them. Additionally, is there a hint that Cajuste could stay if given that option. Nothing better than a full noisy stadium, something which Cajuste suggests he is taken with. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We're in a Difficult Spot in Terms of Availability at 18:21:38
We have not had an effective right hand side all season because of injuries and that has hurt us. That said, we did have a surplus of No.10s but even that has been depleted. Would we have stayed up with everyone fit ? Probably not but we would have been a tougher test for some teams in the second half of the season. At the half way point I honestly thought that we would kick on and get the points needed but alas that was not to be. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: It's the Setbacks That Make You Stronger at 16:41:58
As always, KMcK looks at the bigger picture as do our owners and investors. He keeps level headed and polite in his analysis. He is still young with a lot to learn but he keeps his emotions in check. That does not mean that he doesn’t care about results. Of course he does but everything he says and does is underpinned by personal values seldom seen in football. Thank goodness we have remained a club that values its community and supporters. Relegation is hard to take but most supporters are savvy enough to understand that unlike many clubs that are relegated we remain in good shape and heart to climb the ladder once more, wiser and better prepared this time. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-4 Arsenal - Match Report at 18:18:46
As usual blueboy using the same rhetoric devoid of reality or common sense. At least Lee James can articulate the problems rather than rely solely on negativity. ….. and capital letters ! |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-4 Arsenal - Match Report at 18:00:54
The usual suspects on here not wishing to even register the fact that the gulf in quality and spending is the reason why we have struggled. KM K has been given resources but we were not fishing in the right pool to add quality to the squad. Today was a masterclass from a top team in world football who barely got out of third gear. KMcK has at best a very good squad for the championship but he is not a magician. Hampered by key injuries throughout the season has not helped. These are not excuses they are reasons or facts has one poster likes to call the. The fact of the matter is that we were never going to be ready for the PL. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Much Appreciated and Not Quickly Forgotten at 17:52:32
In my opinion, the Ipswich crowd is a mature and savvy one and KMcK recognises that with his words. We all want the best for the club but understand that we have fallen short in our unexpected trajectory to the PL. The championship will be tough but we are better equipped now on and off the field to push on. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Pretty Definite Philogene Won't Play Again This Season at 17:47:37
Philogene has had bit part appearances since he came to the club and rarely has he played in what looks to be his best position. Ridiculous to judge him so soon. As for Lee James, I welcomed him as a new poster this year talking sense but my tip to him is less is best. Agree no room on here for personal abuse. |
 | News Comment | Town Apply For Retrospective Portman Road Planning Permission at 13:23:57
My understanding is that IBC and ITFC have a good understanding that promotion to the PL came with a tough timeframe that required some latitude. IBC would know that sticking rigidly to the application process would have been embarrassing. Councils get unfairly slated for lots of things but most do their best, imo, to find solutions. |
 | News Comment | Chelsea 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 15:36:08
Truth has to relate to facts Blueboy. You are entitled to your opinion but the ifs and buts in your post are not facts and therefore not the truth. Who knows what would have been if we had “ changed tack”. We may have finished above Wolves or below Leicester. Southampton and Leicester both changed their manager, that it is the truth and a fact but their supporters are far less happy than we are…… in my opinion . |
 | News Comment | Chelsea 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 09:52:47
Anyone using the term delusional or deluded, and there is certainly one on here, should be reminded how offensive and uncaring that is to posters on here who may have serious mental illness. Think about it. |
 | News Comment | Chelsea 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:27:02
Not a result I expected ! Great to take 4 points from Chelsea and be the only team to score at Stamford bridge for over two months. It is still very important to finish above Leicester not just for pride but just in case Man City get a massive points deduction. |
 | News Comment | McKenna Commits Future to Town at 18:13:00
I’m sure he knows that given the backing he has been given this season, the club would expect loyalty from him. He will have learned a lot and with a squad already prepped for the championship next season, this should provide the basis for another tilt at the PL. The owners may have to pull back a little given Trump’s attempt to upend investment strategies but in reality the club has already invested in the squad and funded the infrastructure improvements so I cannot see too many fault lines to worry unduly about. We are in a far better position than many clubs. |
 | News Comment | Delap Release Clause £30m at 19:08:31
Quite frankly I am more interested in having a flourish to our end of season fixtures than I am in a subject that nobody has any factual knowledge about. |
 | News Comment | Town Topic: Gamechanger Takeover Four Years On at 15:20:23
It has to be that we have our club back with good owners, decent management and two promotions. Quite what blue boy thinks by not answering the actual question posed only he knows ! Of course there have been negatives but the positives outweigh the negatives unless someone has been asleep during the last four years or unwilling to show support for the club. I would love TWTD to interview Gamechanger and find out what thoughts they have about the future and the possible impact of Trump’s peculiar economic policies on their investment strategy bearing in mind the impact on the pension fund they are associated with. We live in difficult times economically. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers - Match Report at 10:54:36
Any poster who habitually insults other posters is clearly unable to make their point through courteous dialogue. We are all dissatisfied with the way our season has played out but there is balance to be had in being negative and positive. The biggest risk facing the club is not what our American owners will do but what the Liz Truss of the USA, the megalomaniac Trump, will do to wreck the American economy and that of the world. We are backed by three good Americans but the attack on pension funds will no doubt be praying on their minds. That is the reality we are facing. |
