Blues Linked With Luton Skipper
at 21:53:09

I don’t know anything about this player but I do know that a small’ish club like Luton have done really well to compete in the Championship. Would he jump ship to a bigger club in a lower league ? We will see.

Brentford Join Blackburn and QPR in Chase For Dozzell
at 09:31:05

A difficult one this as many posters have demonstrated. The lad has class and can put a pass together but his goal ratio is on a par with Skuse. He is not a shrewd tackler and as others have said he is a shirt puller because he has no speed. He has had this season to prove himself albeit in a poor team. Would he be a better player in a team full of confidence with strikers he can feed? Probably, but if a suitable bid comes in then Cook and Ashton have a duty to consider it.

Detmer: We Hope For a Lot of Cross-Pollination
at 15:50:48

This is what I had hoped for when the ownership was announced. So many opportunities. Yes, Town are a much bigger outfit but football is growing fast in the States and this partnership can develop in so many ways with the vision that we are starting to hear about. Add Ed Sheeran into the mix and we could yet be a global brand.... but we need to win a few leagues yet.

Town Confirm Craney Joining Staff as Coach
at 15:46:02

The coaches would win in any 5 a side tournament given all our players are allegedly under notice of moving on. I want to be impressed but somehow this appointment seems a bit lightweight. I am a great believer in people learning the ropes but a coach is a coach. Luke Chambers would be better qualified. Still, early days so looking forward to hearing about players coming in to the club. They can't all go to Portugal or the Faroe Islands for their holidays !

Speculation on Town's Available Players Gets Under Way
at 13:52:16

Like many others I am dubious about the truth of this. I would want to know the source for a start. The reality is that at any given time, offers will come in regardless of whether they are welcome or not. Cook knows who he wants to keep and who he will let go so it is quite possible that the source could be an aggrieved player or member of staff making mischief. Perhaps Phil could and should ask the question direct of the club, "is this true ?" In the meantime I will take everything with a pinch of salt until there is an official statement. TWTD is right to keep digging but I would hope that it isn't simply to get us lot all worked up !

Blues and Huddersfield Offer Rhodes Deal Claim
at 12:52:16

As usual Nobbynuts you interpret things to accord with your own wish to insult people. Being open minded is the exact opposite of small minded but let’s also have big hearts as we enter what I hope is a progressive era at the club.

Colchester Targeting Judge
at 11:15:01

Too good for Col U. I would have retained him but understand why the club did what it did. We should all remember that we had decent players but when the rot set in after the Hurst debacle nobody played to their potential. I would consider him coming back as a squad player.

Blues and Huddersfield Offer Rhodes Deal Claim

I am open to persuasion about Rhodes. Town fans need to get over any issue of who an ex player has played for. We need big hearts not small minds.

Sears, Wilson, Huws and Nydam Released
at 22:01:51

Many posters were saying get rid of the whole lot a few weeks ago so now reality dawns. There is a shed load of departures that most agree upon and a couple of curve balls which are a surprise; namely Drinan and Nydam. Therefore, the reality is that most wishes have been granted but just like Christmas we don't all get exactly what we may have liked. I would assume Cook has a fair idea of who he wants to get in various positions so that is surely guiding his decisions. For every player, we need two in addition to cover so he must retain a few of the less talented.

Town Confirm Chambers and Skuse Exits
at 18:01:38

It is the right decision at the right time for the club but I have always regarded Chambers and Skuse as decent players and professionals. Chambers played wherever he was asked and gave his all. Skuse was an effective blocker and did the dirty work that others did not. I wish them and their families well and would be pleased to see either of them back at some point. Both have managerial potential and both were a credit to ITFC under difficult circumstances and not so good managers.

Contract Options Exercised On Jackson and Donacien
at 17:55:14

This is the right business decision on both players. In terms of abilities, I would not give up on either player particularly Jackson as he has never played in a settled side. He has ability so let's see what he can offer until Christmas or take a fee if Cook really feels he is not a good fit. Only he and the coaches can judge that.

Town Eyeing Connolly Return

Liked him when he was here. After so many loan moves he needs to settle into a club on a permanent basis. Wages here would be better than many can offer. Scousers welcome here !

Ipswich Town 3-1 Fleetwood Town - Match Report
at 13:59:55

At last a game to enjoy with some quality. More players in the box and more forward movement than at any other time this season. There are reasons to be cheerful looking forward to a new season and a new era at Portman Road. Have a good summer everyone.

Norwood: It's Part and Parcel of Football That People Move On But It's Sad to See Them Leaving

Most of the vile abuse is taken down fairly quickly so perhaps you have missed it RobsonWark. Yes to free speech, satire, humour and debate but you do yourself no favours with your language and insults.

Thank you RobsonWark for proving my point that people like you just don’t get it so you call people wokes, happy clappers and idiots instead of putting forward a reasoned argument for not being civil. I’m talking about personal and vile abuse not clapping players off when they don’t deserve it. I’m sorry that you don’t understand the difference but hey ho.

Norwood: It's Part and Parcel of Football That People Move On But It's Sad to See Them Leaving
at 22:03:40

@Betty Blue most of your posts are comical and sarcastic which is fine but there are some who simply define themselves as abusive posters ie personal rather than objective. An argument is never won or an opinion valued when it is said with malice. Footballers are human just like us so Norwood is right to call people out for social media abuse of the personal and nasty kind. TWTD has lost many posters because of it.

All very sound. Easy for fans to sling abuse from behind a keyboard. Ipswich fans are better than that but there will always be cowards hiding behind their anonymity.

Wilson Wins Player of the Year
at 18:38:02

That’s about right. Wilson was solid and for the best part Holy was dependable. Toto played his heart out. Posters on here can argue otherwise but if 5,000 voted they should respect the result. Not a good year for anyone in reality.
