Town Takeover Close
at 22:46:26

Bearing in mind the statement from the club that Evans is not actively trying to sell, it would be helpful if TWTD could reveal the source of the claim that a US consortium is about to take over the ownership. There is considerable detail in this story so if fans are to make judgements on this can we know how reliable the source is or is it just newspaper talk or fake news ? Only asking.

Good work TWTD. Let’s hope this passes all the tests so that we are not faced with another saga. As with all football clubs that are owned by a consortium, we are unlikely to get the emotional stake we hanker after but then we have not got that with Evans anyway.

Lambert on Evans Meeting: It’s Not Interesting, I’ve Got My Opinion and He’s Got His

It’s really quite unbelievable that a poster on here is if the opinion that when selling a club you don’t have to be cautious about a prospective buyer. Really quite unbelievable.....⚽️🤨

Takeover Talk
at 18:26:47

Whatever deal is on the table, now or in the future, it must be a credible deal and pass the 'fit and proper person' test with flying colours. The wrong deal with shaky finance behind it could bring the club down. I'm all for Evans selling up but it has to be a long term arrangement, tested against reality and in the interests of the club not just the financiers. Regretably, the days of local investment from local people are gone so whatever happens it will be a new era for the club but success is not guaranteed.

Dozzell: A Big Win, One Which Was Much Needed
at 18:19:09

Most of us want Lambert out but read my posts aas1010 and you will see how I approach things. You are quite at liberty to disagree but you may benefit from being a bit more adult about things. I refer you again to the house rules about keeping on topic and not posting foul language or libellous content. Posting on here is a privilege not an opportunity, in your language, to slag fellow supporters off and call them idiots. Nothing more to say.

You need to keep to topic aas1010. This is about how Dozzell saw the game and not about Lambert. Try putting some balance into your posts rather than personal abuse to fellow posters. That's how grown ups behave.

@aas1010 I think your posts would benefit from some objective comment. We know the club looks at TWTD so let’s show them we are all grown up. As for Dozzell’s comments, I thought his words nicely summed up what is working on the field and long may it continue.

Hull City 0-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

It matters not one jot that Hull were not at their best. Town made them look pretty average. Whatever is happening off the field with Lambert’s inconsistent ways and the owner’s silence, we all know that play offs are obtainable. Play attacking football, feed Norwood, stop the fiddling around at the back and we are back in business. I will always want my team to win and I will never support any other club but there has to be a new culture within the club delivered by leadership from the top. We cannot stutter from one crisis to another but tonight proved that the players have it in them.

Something Rotten

Wow, that is a fine piece of writing. Reflective, thoughtful and oh so true. Absolutely right that the manager may change, the owner may change but there is a base of support at Ipswich which will return if the right decisions are made by the right people and for the right reasons. The time for change is now.

Ipswich Town 0-0 Oxford United - Match Report
at 17:20:26

In the context of everything that is wrong about issues on and off the field, this was a vastly improved performance. We actually played in Oxford's half, looked assured, had movement off the ball and created good opportunities. Nsiala had a particularly good game. We should not be struggling in this league to beat teams and that's why change has to come. Lambert will be pleased with the effort but it's goals that win games and he does not appear to have a formula for that. Time for a managerial change and leadership and investment from the owner

Banished Duo Angered By Manager's Comments

If Lambert's intention was to create difficulties within the squad with a divide and rule approach he has achieved that aim. If Lambert wants to change the culture of the club this is not the way to do it.

Blues Host Oxford Aiming to Upset Form Book
at 13:56:38

“What happens here should stay here” . If that’s the case, and it should be, then why does he contradict himself re Nolan and Jackson. Whether it’s said in the dressing room, the practice pitch or elsewhere, a professional manager should handle himself better than what Lambert is doing.

Bishop: Everyone is Behind the Manager and Still Playing For Him and the Club
at 13:46:14

That’s what the players allegedly felt about MM. Does this mean that players are loyal to their boss but blind to the reality of what the paying public are seeing in front of them ? I have generally felt that most of our players try hard but this season is different. There is a malaise amongst the troops and it has become too cosy when underperforming. Compare this to the last few games of our relegation from the Championship when the crowd saw a team that were already down but playing for their club and it’s supporters. The 12th man can work both ways and currently it is serving to allow players to hide and be complacent. The Northampton game said more about attitude than anything else.

Lambert: I Won’t Have a Player Say They’d Rather Be at Home With the Wife and Kids
at 09:57:18

This is rather unsavoury and not very professional to air these things in public even if the facts are right.Looks like Lambert fell for this which is further evidence he cannot cope. Perhaps he feels that highlighting the actions of two players will find favour with supporters but it wreaks to me of Lambert stumbling through an interview in which he set out to talk about the game but delivered his own swerve ball. His head is clearly not right and the squad will look at this and think is this the right man to manage us. We know he is not so what the heck Evans is doing about this crisis remains a mystery.

Lambert: I Protected Randy Lerner at Villa For a Long Time, I Can't Do That Again
at 14:46:46

I too agree there is enough quality and ability in the squad to be at least top 6. There is however a malaise within the club which has infected the players. Look at the lazy way Dozzell is playing. He has quality and flair but rarely uses it. Saturday was a clear example that when the team is met with a side that presses well, they do not know what to do. That's what the coaches and manager should be teaching them. People lambasted Skuse but to be frank he is needed now as the midfield is lightweight. The stats show that we are passing back more than when Skuse was in the team. Get the coaching right and the players will respond.

Lambert: I Protected Randy Lerner at Villa For a Long Time, I Can't Do That Again

Assuming that the ITFC media manager scans these posts as part of his/her job, I would hope that they relay the unrest to their ultimate boss, Marcus Evans. They should also tell him to get down here in person, sort out the obvious issues and communicate with his paying customers. Showing some leadership would be nice. The old Board set up felt the hurt when things were going pair shaped. They were old school, had Cobbold or Sheepshanks to steady the ship and speak for the club. Everyone had a sense of belonging and that is what Evans has to learn.....or find a suitable suitor to run our club. We are all hurting.
