Bolton Wanderers 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:10:51

We all wanted a win so we are all disappointed but let’s not see a return of the doom and gloom bearing in mind the points difference remains the same. Reality check today but the club has made a good appointment in KMcK and the club is in good hands. Mistakes cost us today but I’m not going to criticise Walton or Edmundsen for that.

McKenna: I Feel Comfortable in the Role
at 16:03:54

Comfortable but not complacent is exactly what I wanted to hear. His career as a coach has given him an insight into management and his close associations with some of the best managers in football will equip him to handle the pressure when it comes. This could turn out to be the wisest and most shrewd managerial appointment since Sir Bobby.

Brighton Activate Loan Recall But Walton Still at Town
at 14:53:41

We would do exactly the same in Brighton's position. Will the valuation be something both clubs can agree upon and will Walton accept a wage lower than what he could get in the Championship ? Not an easy one for any of the parties.

Gillingham 0-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:20:24

What a difference a few weeks has made. Gone is the ponderous, laboured and unenterprising football replaced with tenacious, attacking and positive performances from all over the field. What a tonic this is. Well done KMcK, the team and the backroom staff. Isn't it great that we kept the faith. More high octane performances like this..... add that illusive commodity called consistency and who knows we could possibly get to a play off spot. The new era has begun !

Cook: At All My Clubs Apart From Ipswich I Felt I Was in Control of My Own Destiny
at 13:56:09

Well, blow me down, the club hasn’t got a recruitment room. So, that’s why Cook failed ? I employed over 400 people and I didn’t have one either but I did know how to get the best out of people. Yesterday I was giving Cook the benefit of the doubt but after this interview he resembles a man who has lost his way in the football world and uses bluster to hide his own shortcomings. I still wish him well and I hope he soon finds a club with a recruitment room presumably big enough for a shed load of signings.

Cook: We Should Have Been Given More Time at Town
at 16:21:21

PC is right to express his opinion and many in football would agree that he was not given sufficient time. However, it was his decision to make a wholesale change so he has to be judged by that and his lack of nous in changing things that clearly did not work. In that respect the decision to sack him was right and courageous.I think he genuinely liked the club and it’s supporters but in KMcK I think we have something and someone very different who fits our club.
I hope Cook gets a job soon and wish him well.

Woolfenden: Fresh Start
at 19:26:46

This is the last chance saloon for a number of players so let’s hope that they listen, learn and earn their not inconsiderable wages. The Wolf needs to shed his casual manner as soon as he leaves the dressing room. He could cement the position with Edmundsen as Toto unfortunately is not the safe but forward looking player we need at CH.

McKenna: Lots of Good Things, But Lots to Improve Upon
at 23:42:16

What a contrast to Paul Cook. Clear, concise, astute and intelligent post match remarks. Yes, it’s a lot easier after a win but supporters have had enough of post match bluff and bluster from those in the hot seat. My only complaint is that K McK needs to work on his smile !

Ipswich Town 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers - Match Report
at 23:29:45

We deserved that tonight. The back three were solid and even treated us to Beattie like runs through mid field. Haven’t seen that for some time. As others have said, the game was not pretty but that’s because the opposition wanted it that way. What a horrible side to watch. We were solid, on the front foot and played with desire. Well done to our new manager. The future looks bright.

McKenna: I’ve Got a Clear Idea On How I Want the Team to Play

Thank the lord ! Totally agree. Principles of play and style will lead to the right formation for each game. We have been turned over this season because the opposition knew exactly how we had been set up. The Messiah has arrived !!!

McKenna: The Right Time to Make the Step
at 16:08:51

This has the feeling of the right appointment at the right time. He appears to have the mentality of a man with a modern approach, considered, up for a challenge and no ego to massage unlike Cook and Lambert. Those two had their charms but this man seems for real, authentic and intelligent. His coaching experience with Man U can only be to our advantage. Ferguson always had a soft spot for Ipswich. We may be a League One team now but out of adversity and some dreadful years and recent months, my bones are telling me that it won't be long before we rise again.

McGreal: A Brilliant Appointment
at 15:40:44

Man U rate him, others rate him and McGreal rates him so let us hope and pray they are all right. Looks like an appointment to fit the ambitions of the owners and us as fans. Let's give the new man and the new owners a rousing welcome on Saturday and perhaps the team will do what is required on the pitch. Well done McG for holding the fort and being a brilliant ambassador for the club.

Town Confirm McKenna Appointment
at 22:32:04

If one of the biggest clubs in the world rate these two guys then that’s good enough for me. They would not drop down into this league without giving thought to what is needed and how coaching should be undertaken. Yes, we have a great history but that’s long gone but never forgotten
. Could this be a new era of modernising our club ? I hope so.

Town Closing in On McKenna
at 17:39:51

In Ashton we must trust. I know nothing about this chap but a coach at one of the world’s biggest clubs should have the ability to coach the crop of players brought in by Cook. Some of these players have flair, mainly the ones who didn’t play last night, so a disciplined coach should be able to make them a cohesive unit. If this bloke cannot, then we are doomed. If appointed, then whatever our thoughts about recent weeks, we must give our total support and be patient.
