From a buddy of mine who lives near Sunderland and off their board
Knee slides to the corner.
In an empty stadium
After scoring a penalty
Against 10 men

Got a friend lives near Sunderland and his quote on the Sunderland board was in jest “Correct call ref...... Your brown mystery envelope filled with cash will be in your car after the match”

Is it time to forget the past and acknowledge our beloved club isn’t as it was when growing up?
The sooner we accept we are a average L1 team, with no steel, flair, who cannot change/influence (for the better) a game, it may just make it better for us all.
I fear all we can hope for is a brief flirtation with the championship maybe once or twice in the next decade* and only dream of ever of the heady heights of playoff to the promise land ever again 🥴
*if the club last that long with shocking parity of league money and Covid ransacking clubs

Because his financial dealings have been A****** so far?
A Singapore funded consortium, BNG, is claiming they’ve held talks with Newcastle over a takeover of the club.
BNG have released a statement to news agency Reuters saying they’ve enlisted the help of Alan Shearer and former player Michael Chopra.

I’ve said it before and I’ve said it again.
Automatic promotion this season on paper is the only way the club we know as ITFC will survive.
EFL gives something like 700k for L1 vs 7 mil in the championship.
The council are circling like vultures over land they own and the “corridor of investment” from the train station to TC and redevelopment.
If things are not sorted out and we go back up this season, the ITFC we all know and love so dearly will be a distant memory :-(

Not sure if this is correct
Basic award across the EFL:
Championship - £2.084m.
League 1 - £677,000.
League 2 - £472,000.
Premier League Solidarity payment across the EFL:
Championship - £4.3m
League 1 - £645,000.
League 2 - £430,000
So in league 1 we go from £6.3m to £1.3m and we are already running at a loss by how much? 😞

Nope, sadly I resigned myself to accepting league 1 before Xmas. No way we can average 1.75pts per game to make the fabled 50pts safty mark.
More worryingly is how much of a club will be left if we don’t bounce straight back.
Anyone know how much league 1 income is from the FA vs championship?

I know a couple of guys already running a bar nearby and took a look. Let’s just say it needs a lot of work structurally = money pit
