| News Comment | Morsy Named Player of the Year at 09:52:16
Never worse than a 7/10. Rarely gives the ball away and happy to take it in the tightest of positions. Just wish he was 5 years younger ! |
| News Comment | Norwich City 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:25:17
It’s rare for us not to score and we only conceded one. The 3 in behind Kieffer failed to create or compete physically and I think that is where we came up short. Leeds are 2-0 down after 60 mins so may not be the end of the world although always gutted to lose to the scum. COYB. |
| News Comment | Ex-Blues Win National League Title With Chesterfield at 09:00:42
A very likeable guy and I was disappointed he didn’t bring success to us during his time but he did bring some good players to us which helped lay the foundations for what we are seeing today. The big difference between Paul Cook and his staff and what we have in place now is undoubtedly the quality of the coaching and preparation. We have a Premier League quality team of management and coaching staff now. Paul Cook and his same staff have just won the National League. Congratulations to him though. He’s a great character. |
| News Comment | Cardiff City 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:34:09
Perhaps some would rather go back to the McCarthy days of dour defending from “proper blokes” !!! Long ball up to the big man and fight for the second ball. I would take our current style over that every day of the week. Most of our games are live on sky. Why is that ? Because we are entertaining more often than not. Today was disappointing but 78 points from 37 games is unbelievable. Top two is still wide open and we have 4 home games from next 6. Keep the faith and stay positive. |
| News Comment | Swansea City 1-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:36:10
6 points from 2 away games. 2 home games to come. Leeds play Southampton soon so opportunities ahead to get back in top 2. Great team spirit despite some tired legs today, Omari looked great in first half but tired in the 2nd. Good substitutions as always from KMK. |
| News Comment | Palace Reportedly Fail in Move For McKenna at 18:38:24
I was never concerned he might go to Palace. Realistically what chance of success there ? I would be more concerned if West Ham came sniffing around. A full 60000 seater stadium every week with the promise of a decent budget may appeal. Not too far from his current home either. My hope is he stays and continues to bring success to us and we can fulfill his ambition to manage Ipswich in the Premier League. If he achieves that understandably he will then be looking at the next step. |
| News Comment | Ashton: Character is a Huge Part of It at 15:24:56
MA is a top businessman. Norwood would never have been prolific in the Championship. He wasn’t in League One and his work rate, energy and hold up play a country mile behind George Hirst. No pace and got booked far too often for committing silly fouls. Good decision to move him on in my opinion. |
| News Comment | Middlesbrough 0-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 19:02:18
Well deserved win but special mention for Hladcky. Made a couple of decent saves and his handling and distribution was faultless. To think many is wrote him off as not good enough !!! Including me !!! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-2 Swansea City - Match Report at 18:32:49
Stressful ? Yes at times Defensive lapses ? Yes a few too many Too many missed chances ? Yes but lots created. Entertaining ? Absolutely every week. Been a Town supporter for 50 years and probably was a bit too young at the time to appreciate the enormity of what Sir Bobby achieved but based on the football, the atmosphere and utter feel good factor in and around the ground I think i have appreciated this period in our history more than any other. Fantastic times. |
| News Comment | Birmingham City 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:45:30
The female commentator on ifollow got right on my t*ts ! A game Birmingham deserved to win she said at the end !!! Yes, they pressed us hard in the first half and were effective in stopping us playing our usual game and then found themselves 2-0 up from a scuffed shot that Stansfield intercepted and a Burgess own goal. 2nd half was totally different. We bossed the game and had many more chances and were pushing for a winner at the end. With 68% possession, more attempts on goal and more on target I don’t know how she reached that conclusion. Anyway a good point on the road, a great comeback and still well clear of third place. If we just average 1.5 points until the end of the season we would finish on 82. COYB |
| News Comment | Town to Reveal Third Kit Tonight at 16:38:43
I can still picture The Beat in the white Adidas away kit kit with black shorts. What a legend. We should bring that one back. |
| News Comment | Huddersfield Town 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:51:57
Nothing wrong with that point. Hard earned and they gave it their all. Morsy was a definite miss. We still had 30 attempts with 6 on target and more possession. Not bad when most of us are looking at it and feeling slightly disappointed. Shows how far we have come ! Hutchinson was good again. That boy is some player. Good display by Hladky and Mass too. |
| News Comment | Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:58:20
A dominant away performance. We bossed the game for the most part. The only thing lacking was more goals. Burns was superb as was Morsy and defensively we looked very solid. We seem so well drilled positionally, almost telepathic at times. We must enjoy these times as they don’t come around too often as a football supporter. |
| News Comment | Town to Face West Ham in Friendly at 11:54:21
A good opportunity for some who have had limited game time like Edmondson plus Axel and Dane Scarlett and against quality opposition and not far to travel. What’s not to like ? |
| News Comment | McKenna: Maybe One in, Maybe One Out at 15:59:10
I thought Baggot did well against Reading and with a bit more game time could be good enough. Edmondson was a bit shaky but hasn’t played much football lately. I also think Harry Clark could cover as a CB and we now have Williams able to play at RB so we do have options. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-4 Leeds United - Match Report at 18:55:47
Most of our squad have played most of their football in League One and a few with some Championship experience. Most of Leeds squad are experienced in the Premier League and Championship and there lies the difference. They were sharper more skilful and more clinical in the final third. But overall we played well. Good possession, lots of chances created and we scored 3 goals. We will lose games but today was entertaining and we have to want more as supporters than just spanking league one teams every week. Another experience to learn from. I am sure we will strengthen this week. Positive times at ITFC and a great feel good factor in and around the club. |
