| News Comment | Brentford and West Brom Trials For Armin at 12:24:46
Personally think this is part of the new owners vision. they want success sooner rather than later, so will happily buy the talent in rather than develop it. (IMO) |
| News Comment | Town's Ground Staff Highly Commended at 16:12:06
Tranmere Rovers - Highly commended? League 2 must have some awful pitches (based on the Tranmere pitch when we played them 2020/21 season) |
| News Comment | Town Place Norwood on Transfer List at 12:50:54
Doubt anyone will take him off our hands in January, unless we negotiate or pay part of his contract off. League 2 or potentially relegation threatended league one team he'll move on to. At least he'll leave us with a good head of hair for his next venture! |
| News Comment | Celina: Important Goal Meant a Lot at 09:56:27
Things like these show the quality of our squad now. Think back to last season where players had howlers, yet always ended up being the first name on the team sheet for the next game. We dont have that now and its proven beneficial to all the squad. KVY for example, nailed on right back for everyone start of this season and Donacien has literally ripped it out of his hands and I cannot see KVY getting a look in should JD's form continue and were seeing this with the number 10 role, strikers, midfield, defence and keepers. Onwards and upwards - COYB!!!! |
| News Comment | Cook: I'd Love Norwich at Home in the Third Round at 14:11:13
The comments on here.... You are a sad bunch aren't you. I'd personally love us to play Norwich at home in the 3rd round, but we'll end up with Man City or Liverpool and be annihilated by them instead :) |
| News Comment | Work Starts on Cobbold Stand Mural at 10:07:07
Would be good if the new owners done a history timeline across one of the stands pointing out some of the major achievements/milestones reached for the club like when Ipswich was established, Title wins, FA CUP, Uefa Cup, Play offs etc and pictures of the main players of those seasons like Crawford, Beattie, Wark, Holland, Mills, Wright etc. I think Everton do something similar around Goodison Park, which looks great IMO. |
| News Comment | Town Accounts Show Evans Waived or Settled £96m in Loans at 09:50:18
Shows how bad the club is run when the debt is 11 times higher than the yearly turnover. I'm more confident in the way we will be run in future and lets hope with some investment we can get back in the championship and then the prem in future. |
| News Comment | Downes Linked With Posh at 09:45:06
Surprised if he ends up at Posh after Palace were in for him. Again another player I wouldnt be too disappointed in seeing moved on as he didnt really light up the midfield in a dreadful team. Got to get around another £1m if he were to move on and a decent sell on percentage. |
| News Comment | Lankester Set For Cambridge as Clubs Agree Deal at 11:34:19
Personally we all need to remember that not one player really stood out for us last season. If players were good enough they would have stayed and shown Cook why they want to stay. I dont know what goes on behind closed doors at the club, but if players are happy in themselves to move on, then to me it shows the ambition isnt there to play for the shirt or they need a fresh start. Yes, not nice to see the young lads being moved on, but you have to say also that did they stand out and change games when introduced. from Cooks view last season, thats a no. When players like Dyer and Bramble were coming through you knew they were good and if you compare some of the youngsters to those guys, they aren't anywhere near that. Judge Cook at Christmas time and the approach we are taking, but I personally think these changes are very much needed to get back up in to the Championship and beyond. |
| News Comment | Johnson: We’re Keeping About 10 Per Cent of the Squad at 09:24:30
So much negativity on losing players. These are the same players that have not been convincing in League 1 for 2 seasons now. It may seem daunting to get rid of so many players so soon, but this change is needed. Let the club do their job and lets see who comes in. I would be more worried if they said they were only going to get rid of 10% of the squad, them wanting to get rid of 90% of the squad shows how over hyped the teams been over the past few seasons, as well as players willingness to fight tooth and nail for this club. Sit back, relax and let the club do the work, we'll bring the support come August! COYB |
| News Comment | Dozzell Closing in On QPR Move at 10:39:39
I think he will go on to be a good player, but needs to be a stronger player on the ball as felt he was lost in alot of games last year where more physical teams kept him out of the game. Great eye for a pass, but needs more to his game than that. Our players didnt help him last year and were never going to bring out his best attributes as they lacked either creating the runs or finishing in the final third (due to being to busy passing it between ourselves at the back or in midfield). |
| News Comment | Edwards Linked With Wigan Move at 16:07:10
I heard he was only going to Wigan to collect that free kick he skyed against Wimbledon in April..... Didnt ever rate Edwards, very rare flashes of talent, but cant have 2 good games out of 46 games in a league season if we want to progress! |
| News Comment | PA Man Chandler Hangs Up Mic at 14:02:04
Well done Rob, always enjoyed the halftime games and poking fun at just the right level not to offend anyone - even when the scum were in town. You will be missed, but like most on here lets hope next seasons matches will be alot more enjoyable to watch. Best of luck. COYB |
| News Comment | Cambridge Eyeing Bishop at 10:04:28
Cambridge would be a good move for him. Teddy is a good player on his day, but injuries and consistency of performance have always been an issue in my eyes, so imo I wouldnt be too worried about him leaving as long as we have an idea of what players we can bring in to replace him. |
| News Comment | Wilson Joins Plymouth at 09:28:27
Not many players that I actually liked in our squad, but Wilson has been the better signing IMO in recent years, especially when there wasnt too much of a buzz when he joined. Solid defender and wish him all the best at Plymouth, he'll be a good player for them to stay in league 1 next season. Shame we couldnt do a swap for Luke Jephcott! |
| News Comment | Town Eyeing Connolly Return at 13:49:30
Personally would be a great signing to start with. No transfer fee Knows league one A player that makes the defensive stronger based on the current defensive options available to us. |
| News Comment | Ward: We Have to Be Really Positive and Believe We Can Make Play-Offs at 11:17:31
Oh come on..... Last 10 games Won 2, Drawn 5, Lost 3 Scored 5 goals, conceded 9 Drew 0 - 0, 4 times and 2 of these teams are in the current bottom 6. Lost 3 - 0 against Wimbledon currently 19th Some how we are still in with a chance of mathematically making play offs but we all know, fans and manager that we arent good enough. |
| News Comment | Town's New Era Gets Under Way as MK Dons Visit at 15:43:04
To be honest we'll be lucky to get a point. New owners is good I'm positive about that, but its still the same crop of players. Main changes wont be until next season, but this game would be a good platform to start putting the effort in and still push for play offs. I dont think we are good enough but wouldnt mind being surprised! |
