Don't discount it. Evans is shrewd enough to know that if this continues to go tits up bringing in 'one of our own' or two is the answer to keep the fans happy. They would buy him a lot of bums on seats - and as we can see, the stadium is gradually emptying. |

I wanted to keep Mick. And I thought letting him be driven out by a few gobby fans was a terrible mistake. But crikey..........even I didn't realise just how big that mistake was going to be!! |

I am not sure the Championship gives you time to fiddle about trying to make a silk purse out of a pig's ear. The games come thick and fast and we have a team generally experienced at playing at a lower level. No-one (except me) wanted to give MM more time, so this is the cheap option ME has given you. There is absolutely no reason to suppose it is going to work. It might, but my money would be on relegation. I am not sure at what point so many became convinced that what, on paper at least, looks like a potential disaster is in fact a genius way of getting promoted?? |

Ah, I thought you meant he was playing for Ipswich!! :) I am so confused by our team these days that the fact I have never heard of someone does not prevent me from assuming they were signed yesterday and are in the team today!! Please don't add to my confusion! :) |

Agreed. Singing and chanting is normally associated with standing and while the Club seem to turn a blind eye to that in the lower tier it would be very dangerous in the upper and could not be allowed. |

To be fair disability access, etc., is something the Club seem to nearly always get right. Why not contact Liz Edwards who is the Supporters Liaison Officer. I am sure she will be able to assist you. |

Can you identify facial expression at that distance? 'Shocked'??? And I remember them singing 'shall we sing a song for you..........?' I must have been at a different game. :) |
| Forum Reply | Tilt in...... Chambers out........? at 17:36 17 Aug 2018
Agreed. He looks like he has lost all his spark. Didn't look happy at all, seemed to have no passion any more. He needs to get away before this sinking ship pulls him down with it. |
| Forum Reply | Chambers Interview at 17:19 17 Aug 2018
The spark has gone out of him. I would think it is very hard to deal with the loss of an experienced manager to be replaced by a rottweiler type with no proven skills who shouts a lot. I would imagine he is praying for MM to get another club so he can follow him. There is nothing left that is recognisable as an Ipswich team sadly just a mish-mash of Div 1 players and a manger out of his depth. |

He said they flew home from Exeter, and I don't think his family are even in Ipswich are they? So I doubt he is knackered. Boring yes. Knackered no. |
| Forum Reply | Manager absolutely spitting feathers after a nothing cup loss at 16:31 15 Aug 2018
I agree. Slating off your players in public (and I am given to understand shouting at them in private) is not the way to motivate. The players have got to want to win for him. Shouting and sniping has a very short shelf live - eventually the players will zone out. But respect has to be earned. Mick had it because he had got teams promoted and he knew what he was doing. Paul is untried at this level and has to earn his reputation. Being a lower league manager and shouting a lot will not cut it. |

It seems to be the 'house view' that one should not judge PH by any criteria whatsoever and rely on hope! :) To be fair if this has ever happened before, I cannot remember it - replacing virtually the entire squad with players the manger likes from lower divisions. We can't even use the first couple of games because a) they are still getting to know one another and b) we are playing pretty football which seems currently to take precedence over goals. We need one of those flashy things from Men In Black to erase all our memories and then we will think this is normal! |
| Forum Reply | New signings at 10:25 11 Aug 2018
Agreed. It will just be an endless loop. When did money from big sales ever buy us big players? It has just landed us a bunch of Div 1 or 2 players most of whom will probably not cut it at this level but those that do will be sold. Why are Ipswich fans so grateful for nothing...........I simply can't get my head round it! |
| Forum Reply | New signings at 10:12 11 Aug 2018
It would certainly be a surprise to the bookies and pundits who all have us nailed on to get relegated! :) I still don't get why people are so excited about signing Div 1 and 2 players. I seem to have entered a parallel universe!! :) |
| Forum Reply | Very happy with transfer business... at 09:51 11 Aug 2018
It will be a dreadful shame if we do not get to see our young players develop. One really has to wonder at the point of an Academy - which many fans have been coerced into help funding - if PH is going to buy from Div 1 and 2. But as you say, life is not always fair I guess! |
