Kuqi Applies For Manager's Job
at 11:49:35

Unlike most here I've seen Shefki manage. He could be explosive and even fearsome on the side. He ticks the motivational box but any one chosen has to have a long time strategy for the club now. He sounds good on the radio there. Kuqi's first two posts in Finland, PK and Honka, were poisened chalices to begin with. Only Inter had a chance to succeed. Seems that he delivered the unexpected. Surprising wins - and defeats. https://www.transfermarkt.com/shefki-kuqi/profil/trainer/34330

Barton: Probably as Bad as a Group of Players as Ipswich Have Had in a Long Time

In one sentence he certainly manages to motivate our team today. He' s clearly comparing our team today to great teams of our past and doesn't know anything of oof Town of this season.

McCarthy: I'll Make a Decision on My Future in the Summer
at 21:18:03

Mick is a decent man and manager, very much so. Be careful what ask for with these finances. I can't see many who would do better with a purse as tight as this. Without him we would be probably trying to get out from League One.

The reality Championship table is more or less this. Go to an individual club and you will find player contracts (lenghts) and projected transfer values for each player. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/startseite/wettbewerb/GB2

McCarthy Cool With His Striking Options Despite No Late Addition
at 14:14:03

First of all Mick kept us in this league. We were awful and going down if you are to remember the tailend of 2012. Then he has build teams without money but looking at players we have now it should be getting better now. Mick is no half wit, he's a pragmatist and having brought these players in he should know best.My only concern is that we need to groom in Bishop and Dozzell and they have to play to develop. They are exceptional talents both.

Burnley Duo on McCarthy's Wish List
at 16:01:33

The resident whingers make this board something I try to avoid these days but I salute TrueAndBlue for stating some truths that need to be stated. It says that Knigjlu and Jutkiewitz are on Mick's list but it does not say how long that list is. I expect him to pull a rabbit out of his hat just like he did with Ward. No one saw it coming. He's looking for a straight replasement for Daryl. I hope his name is Omar.

No, he can't score and doesn't have a freekick on him and a player playing central midfield can't definitely go wide either.

Huddersfield 0-1 Town - Match Report
at 10:00:14

Obviously I wasn't at the game. But that wasn't the first time an away team steals the points against the run of play. It happens all the time. I's just the nature of the game, the team in front protect their lead and the home team try to equalise. Many times that will leave very ugly stats for the away team even if they win. So well done.lads.

However there is another stat that makes me sad these days. The parachute payments. Think of Burnley who are a model club in their business, always finding the next hot striker. They were able to pay millions for Andre Gray this time. Hull City, theirs is a premier squad in waiting.Boro, they have a wealthy owner in Gibson...and so on.And then look who got the premier moneys.

Where as our stature in just being a championship club for a decade and half now really shows.Full marks to MM for being able to build a team to compete with no money what so ever. There are holes in these parachute payment stats. But even the three seasons I was able to find in articles show the trend.

Parachute payments 2011-12:
Club Payment Position

West Ham £15.5m 3
Birmingham £15.5m 4
Blackpool £15.5m 5
Middlesbro £4m 7
Hull City £12m 8
Burnley £12m 13
Portsmouth £12m 22

Parachute payments 2012-13:
Hull City £8m 2
Burnley £8m 12
Blackpool £13m 14
Blackburn £16m 13
Bolton £16m 16
Wolves £16m 18
Birmingham £13m 20
Portsmouth £8m 22(L1)

Good for us. Now we can get on with the season. Hughton and Lua Lua deserve the honours. Lua Lua also for showing us and Emmanuel particularly that you need a bit of muscle too in defence. Dare I say it but it was probably good to get the first out of the way.
