So now the Tories are seemingly finished...
at 21:53 3 May 2025

Reform could easily self implode yet! They don’t have that many leading lights at present & Nigel has fallen out with two of them already. Remains to be seen how he will handle things when he gains more MP’s. If the Conservatives find a better leader they could still re-emerge.

Nice post & good to hear that feedback. Very proud of our club today. 2-0 down & heads could have dropped but we really kept at it & fully deserved a point against a much improved side.

Think there's also a policy of doing away with business rates & having a delivery tax on online orders, which might help the high street. These ideas should boost small business which in turn will help create some economic growth. Maybe they'll cancel Labours stupid employers NI raise. Maybe they'll finally rid Councils of wastage? Didn't vote in the last Election. No idea if I will next time.

Raising the personal tax threshold to £20k would interest me, along with raising the Inheritance Tax threshold to £2m, & getting rid of IR35.

for all the people who suggest we shouldn't criticise reform or their voters

Are you talking about Labour here? I mean, they've never kept a promise & blame everything upon everyone else. Very disappointed with them & I'm not surprised Reform are surging. I'm not allied to any party just an observer.

A road closure because the sitting Conservative councillor didn't like traffic coming past his house!

Horticulturistas - recommed me a tree/bush that will last but won't get too big

Acers can be very difficult, particularly if you have heavy clay soil. I'd go with Camellia or Hydrangea for a pot or Olive as a tree but again give it plenty of drainage!

In my own experience a few years back when some neighbours & I had a local issue we wanted resolved, we just wanted someone to stand up & help us whatever their politics. UKIP were the only party to listen & actually do something about it. The others were useless & didn't want to know us.

At least we won’t have Leeds to play next season
at 18:06 21 Apr 2025

Fair play to Leeds. They were the best side we faced last season. Looking back at our failings in those two games should have raised an alarm. Perhaps it's been better for them to stay down for an extra season. I'm not so sure we'll find it easy next season. Totally different psychological scenario. I'm happy if we rebuild & take our time.

I don't think he's a tool at all. Why do we not close down the opposition when we don't have the ball? We let teams play with total freedom at times. At least make them work for it. Why haven't we tried two up front? Why do we stick to 4231 when it's not worked in the Premier? Why did we leave Burgess out yesterday?

Bad foul- but if thats a red
at 20:18 20 Apr 2025

Definite yellow, but didn’t think it should be red. Agree with others, you see that tackle more than once in every game & they always draw a yellow card. If every one of those was a red card we’d be having 9 v 9 or less on the pitch.

McIlroy v Rose Masters Play off

Could the same about Justin. He made a complete mess of things on Saturday yet comes back firing ten birdies on Sunday. Sensational stuff on a sensational day! Truly memorable Masters.

Potentially our 3 most premier defenders leaving
at 19:52 8 Apr 2025

Burgess has become a super player, we really need to re-sign him. I rate him highly, & feel he's the best defender we have. Rarely lets us down. Greaves has been very ordinary & rather disappointing.

Big Blondie fan here. Really sad & upset when I heard about this earlier. Bloody good drummer in a bloody good band. They were still rocking it last year. Those two guitarists are fantastic. Great songbook too. I wonder if they will ever play live again?

Burgess has become a fantastic player, should 100% start every game. Wouldn't mind seeing him captain the side, see a good leader in him.
