McCarthy Has No Intention of Walking Away and Plans to Build Again at Town
at 22:51:20

Just when I thought the season couldn't get much worse! As news goes; apart from relegation and administration, that's next as bad as it gets!! 😭

McCarthy: Up to Us to Win Back Fans
at 08:13:41

Surco72 agree - you sound like someone I know - you're not in Birmingham are you? Not quite so excited as usual as MM lost me after the Rotherhsm debacle toward the end of last season. Defence still annoys me with RB choice & MMs subs & team selection more often from the Roy Hodgson school of football mis-management. Pleased to see Newcastle loose - only cos I have had to endure my other half crowing all pre-season about how many new players they've bought! Fair Play rules! Can anyone tell me what's fair about Premiership teams being relegated and then still getting shed loads of parachute money?? Surely it should be written into a players contract that if they get relegated their wages revert to championship levels? After all, they're all premiership players still so that should be advantage enough. The payments they all get would be better spread out among the remaining championship clubs to give them a boost - NOW we're talking more level playing field! Anyway, never gonna happen. Still, COYB!

McCarthy Bemoans Keystone Cops Defending
at 08:21:32

SHOCKING DISPLAY! I am a big Mick fan & I think the squad assembled is a good one HOWEVER.....what the hell was that team last night???? As soon as the team sheet went up I was worried - Gerks? Sorry, he's been tried & found wanting big time. How many poor decisions can you make in one game? The only good thing to come from this game is MM must put Bart back in goal. What I don 't understand is we started the season with our 2 young wingers tearing it up down the flanks & putting crosses in - so why not continue to play Fraser & Maitland-Niles? Why do we have to change? Give the opposition something to worry about. MM was singing Oar's praises earlier in the week so I expected to see him on the bench ready to replace one of our wingers when they tired (usually AMN)! Sears is fantastic & should be given free reign up front - again, gives the opposition something to worry about. So why change that winning formula?? Beyond me. I had hoped, just being a normal everyday fan, that MM would prove me wrong & his team would come out on top. Unfortunately not! The defence was an absolute shambles too. A full back needs to be able to run & have some skill on the ball. I always think the obvious diffences between full backs & CB's is their skill on the ball & ability to pass as opposed to just hoof!! Chambers is, I'm afraid, just not skilful on the ball or fast enough to be RB & it must be time to put Parr in there & drop 1 of the CBs. Finally, when will MM realise some players are brilliant yes, but not from the start & not for 90 minutes? Pitman - fantastic impact sub. Will always score when bought on as a sub for last 30 mins (always ran us ragged when we played against him)!; McGoldrick - very good player, yes but not a 90 minuter & NOT from the start. The ball he gave away (& he lost the ball ALOT last night) for their final goal was criminal. Very disappointed with overall display & embarrassing football we played. Will be better when Bru comes back in & if MM returns to winning formula & also gives his defence a rocket! Roll on Leeds! COYB!

Howe Confirms New Cherries Contract for Fraser
at 00:19:06

Signing a contract extension is win win all round: Ryan knows he is only on loan yes, but will want to play his absolute best to ensure next season he in their 1st team. Nothing wrong with quality players on loan - look at Patrick Bamford & Darren Bent as examples (& prob lots more)! MM got plans!! Brett Pitman always a threat in front of goal. COYB!

Town 1-0 Bolton - Match Report
at 00:16:18

Sorry - why all the in-fighting??? Is this not a day to celebrate?? Have we not been playing poorly/not getting the breaks?? Today we played 95 mins solid & got a few breaks to! Did we not just stuff Watford? Smash & grab of the highest order? No one gave us a hope today & the team all delivered. They all put right their recent mistakes & did the incredible job of beating, yes BEATING Watford AT Watford!!! Outstanding result & I for one am still buzzing!! Whole new complexion on the top of the table - could have been 11 points off 2nd just outside the play offs but instead we're in 6th & 5 points off! Exciting end to the season. If they can play like that again we defo have a chance. COYB!

Town Stay Third as Bournemouth Lose

NottsTractor - hippy or not, agree 100%. Those LUCKY ENOUGH to be at PR need to be making a positive noise ESPECIALLY when the team needs a boost. AND more noise pls!! It goes without saying the away support at narwich will be massive & noisy throughout - away supporters always rock. Would just live to hear PR rocking a bit more too! COYB!

Quiet Deadline Day But Connolly Set to Sign
at 23:20:17

Here's a contraversial idea for all fans who are lucky enough to go to Portman Road - how about a bit more noise! The last 2 games on tv were embarrassing for lack of noise & atmosphere. I live away & have to be content to listen on Ipswich Player - even on the radio PR is more often than not quiet! Sorry guys but this has always wound me up about PR. This year I had the opportunity to go to my 1st away game at Bournemouth. Wow - what a difference being an away fan: it was so exciting & noisy throughout the whole game! Non-stop singing & passion - it was a brilliant experience. We need a whole stadium like that - not just leaving it to The Sir Bobby stand to make the noise. If the team are not playing well or looking jaded surely THATS when the supporters should be heard & getting the boys going. Let's get behind what we've got - the squads good enough if MM picks the right team. Not sure what's happened to the positive play & harrying of the opposition we had been doing but let's hope it returns next game (along with Murphy, fingers X). There you go, get your teeth into that lot. COYB!

Charlton 0-1 Town - Match Report
at 00:23:56

I can't understand the negative stuff that gets posted. Oh well, each to their own..... Personally I like to look at the positives - 2nd in the table - wow! Grinding out results - COYB; a team that works HARD - people slag off Jay Tabb & Stephen Hunt but they both ran their backsides off & always give 100%. It's so much better watching Ipswich play this season. We're starting slowly in the 1st half of games but then finishing strongly. This seems a better way to play than what we were starting like a train, playing pants in 2nd half & defending deep in last 20 minutes with all the subs being defensive changes. Look at MMs subs today - can't get more positive than finishing with 4 strikers on the pitch at the end. If that's not a sign of intent then nothing is! Whole team works really hard - whoever comes on & whenever that is: Conor Sammon may not be to everyone's liking but he runs his heart out when he comes on. Last 15 minutes was exciting - we kept pressing & felt more like scoring than conceding!! Plus, got to congratulate long pass from Mings finding McGoldrick leading to goal which was sublime! COYB - most excitement in years & when McGoldrick finds his shooting boots again we will be unstoppable!!

Having been at Dean Court last Saturday (1st time as an away fan), the support today was equally immense. If home fans could generate the same noise & enthusiasm as our away fans, the Portman Road the atmosphere would be outstanding!

McCarthy: Much Better After Break
at 23:58:59

This is not a doom & gloom post BUT....I have a case of dejavu - manager forced into a corner due to injury; picks only team he can due to said injury list & last team he would have picked if had another choice; team he puts out comes into their own 2nd half & take it to Derby; Teddy Bishop proves capable; Bru & Parr take their chances & play really well too; even MM thinks the passing football they started playing in the 2nd half made more sense than the usual hoofball!!! Soooo - a new team? Different starters after the break? Play those who took their chances well??? OR? 2 weeks off & back to normal with Skuse & company......!!!!!! Mmmmm, I wonder....???? Answers on a postcard.....

McCarthy: It's Still in the Mix
at 11:03:41

Today will be a tough game. I watched the away fixture at Bournemouth & they were by far the better team: attacked with the ball, running at our defence all game. Plus Cressy had a mare of a game that day which didn't help. We were lucky with the 1-1 result. Need to set the team up positively today & attack them. If we keep hoofing it they will play the ball & are a dangerous team! Got to have hope though till the final whistle. COYB!

McCarthy: Hitting the Bar Was the Turning Point
at 10:25:08

Agree 100% with roytheboy. The last person I expected to come off the bench was Paul 'too slow lost the ball again' Green! 3-1 down surely the ONLY thing to do is chuck on 2 more strikers. If you're not going forward than the opposition IS! Why not go for it & get the flair of Taylor along with the youth & enthusiasm of Marriott & see where it gets you. No plan B. Team set up wrong right from the start. We play best when we use 2wingers 1st half & then scare the begeezers out of them with a herd of strikers in the 2nd half! Very disappointed...again. Love MM but poor tactics today!!

Watford 3-1 Town
at 10:11:54

Why change a winning formula? 2 wingers 1st half - beat the opposition down then pile strikers on 2nd half & smother the opposition!! Anderson injured but we could have used Henshall. Like Nouble but he is not a 90 minute player - always better when he's watched the game unfold & only has to run for half the game. What the hell sort of negative change is 'Paul Green lost the ball again' coming on for 'attack minded Wordworth'????? Paul Taylor gets 5 minutes? No Marriott? 3-1 down surely it's defense off & pile strike force on???? Very disappointed. Missed opportunity again. MM must realise its a game of 2 halves & just because the changes he often makes produces an improved 2nd half performance does NOT mean putting out that same team to start the next game!!! Bench should be part of the plan. Prime example - look at a 4 x 100m relay team: where are the best runners 1st & last. Important not to run out of steam!! Disappointing result & tactics. There we are - 1st post, look forward to any comments!!
