Or perhaps the mistake was made by those in the NSL not getting involved with the vocal chunk for 4 years when we were there, or by kicking off and accusing us of being selfish when we floated the idea of moving centrally behind the goal. If that would have happened, I can guarantee the atmosphere would be a lot better now, but those people weren’t willing to make that sacrifice. That then left us with no choice but to move elsewhere, and so all you’re seeing now is exactly how it was before we were in Section 6. The only solutions are for the club to either install an ultras style curve in the corner when the cobbold is rebuilt, or to ‘force’ folk in the middle to move seats. I don’t see either of those things happening, so nothing will ever really change. We’ll just have these threads after every game until the end of time instead. |

Was sung in A-Block at the end of the game Tuesday night. |

My lad was a mascot last night so I sat in the south corner of the Pioneer. BA/A-Block kept it ticking over the whole game - there was only a minute or two that I couldn’t hear them from where I was. It’s a shame the 15/20 minute great escape didn’t catch on in the North Stand because that would have spread around the whole ground. |

It really wasn’t. Organised support trying to boost their team before a derby happens week in week out all over the world. Only in England is it seen as a negative thing, and is the same mentality which sees us having the worst fan scene and atmospheres in all of Europe. |

We’ve been asking the club all season to let us have a megaphone in the ground. If I told you some of the reasons we’ve been given for not allowing it, you probably wouldn’t believe me. |

It’s working for us. We were stuck in section 6 singing into thin air every week while everyone around us stood quiet and just moaned about our flags. We were fighting a losing battle and it was an absolute chore. We’d probably have disbanded by now had we not moved. Now we’ve more than doubled in numbers and it’s much more enjoyable having 100+ singing for the whole game. A-blocks not yet perfect - most of the front half still doesn’t participate which is why the sound doesn’t travel. Us moving might not have improved the overall atmosphere in the ground, but that’s not our fault or problem - that lies at the door of the North Stand, 90% of whom unfortunately just don’t have the right mentality. We sing all game every game, always have done and always will. There’s nothing else we can do. Folk can talk about acoustics all they want, but the fact is, Ipswich fans in the main just can’t be arsed to back their team. It’s incredibly easy for Section 6 (who obviously can hear us) to spread our songs across to S5 who should then carry them further, but for whatever reason they just don’t. But us moving was a small step in a long term plan. We’ll keep getting stronger and will eventually move again elsewhere, depending on what happens with the Cobbold rebuild. Ideally they’ll turn it into a safe standing curve to link the Cobbold and NS, purpose built as an ultra section. Probably unlikely, but that would help massively and give the active support a proper home for years to come. |

Yeah this is exactly it, we keep them going in the hope they’ll be spread over the North by S6, but it rarely happens for whatever reason. A few times too (happened last night for sure), we’ll be singing a ‘roller’ - think it was blue and white army, which was going for well over 5 minutes (and they could definitely hear it) but instead of it being carried by the NS, they just sang hark now hear for 20 seconds instead and then it just died off again. |

TWTD are to thank for that. There was a thread a couple of years back discussing it, and hoppy reckoned volta pro bold was the closest to it, so that’s the one we used. |
