Neom Linked With New Cajuste Approach
at 15:27:41

This was never going to be a big transfer window. Some targets want higher level football and some want bigger wages. What MA will not do is put our club in a bad financial situation. If what we offer is not enough then we won't go over our own valuation. There is also little point in buying players short term. Personally I trust in KA and MA and we've had some big surprises in the past.

Hutchinson and Davis Miss Out at Auxerre
at 19:03:24

I had expected Hutchinson to go but not to Brentford. That's not a move I would have expected him to want. One more good season here and one of the big clubs would probably have come for him.

Edwards: The Ball's in Hackney's Court
at 21:14:29

Didn't MA once say that we will only sign players who want to come here? I'd love to see it but either he or his agent are hanging on for something better and that doesn't suggest that he's all that keen to come here. If we're a backup choice will his heart really be in it or will he always be wanting something better?

Stanislas Appointed First-Team Coach as Town Add Set-Piece Analyst

What does the set piece man do? Show them how to hold a shirt or pull an arm? No one seems free to actually move into space these days due to all the wrestling that's allowed to go on. You can't lose your marker if he's holding your shirt.

Young: Working With McKenna Again Was a Massive Pull

Some very ageist comments on here. Age is just a number and if a player is good enough at 17 or 40 then he's worth having. Experience is a bonus not a handicap.

Blues Among Clubs Linked With Liverpool Youngster
at 10:06:34

We won't spend big for this season as we have a good championship squad. It's more about getting another promotion and then we will be more attractive to top players and will spend much more. Loaning exciting young players who could then sign for us IF we get promotion is good business as it was with Omari. His value has increased quite a bit in his time with us. We sometimes have to remember that a football club is a business too. KM is a great coach and MA has shown himself to be a clever dealer when it comes to contracts.

Town Chief Handed Royal Invite
at 10:56:01

Any business would welcome news like this. We must always remember that our football club is a business and an invite like this for our CEO impresses our owners/investors and is good for the profile of our club. Whether some think it's boring or not it should be welcomed by all supporters.

Town Closing in On Completing Kipré Loan Signing
at 09:27:18

By some of the negative comments on here I guess some think running a business is easy. ITFC have invested heavily in creating a quality championship squad. They spent over 100 million on promotion to the Premier league but it didn't work out and relegation followed. The squad is still a very strong squad for the Championship and money is now being spent wisely on replacements for those who left. This is NOT a time to spend big amounts but to consolidate and move forward again with the quality we already have. IF we do achieve another promotion again then that we will the time to invest heavily. Premier league players cost huge amounts both on transfers and wages and it would be unwise to gamble this summer. Maybe in January if the squad needs a boost but lets be patient and let MA run the club and KM manage the squad. Any new addition has been selected by KM and that's good enough for me.

Town Closing in On Matusiwa With Fee Agreed

Blubullet29 you say no comment so why comment to say no comment? Then you make a comment (because you just can't help it) saying absolutely nothing yourself and criticising other people's input. You need to get a life.
I'd rather we all trust the judgement of KM and his recruitment team who will know all about him than make senseless idiotic comments.

Hutchinson on Target as England U21s Win Euros
at 09:55:06

I think the big question for all these young players is what's next? Do you go to a big club and play a few games a season or do you want to play every game at a smaller club. It's the love of playing against the big money. It a very tough decision but we all know what their agents will tell them.

Ashton: We Have to Look at Recruiting a Different Type of Player
at 09:37:45

We had two wonderful seasons with exciting football. All too quickly forgotten by some on here. The Premier league came too quick and the truth is that the gap is massive. The money needed for a Premier league squad is way beyond reach in one season. It could take 2, 3 or 4 seasons of Premier league income to build such a squad and surviving just one season is proving incredibly hard. There is a group of clubs now going up and down which are too good for the Championship but cannot survive in the Premiership.
Maybe a squad of 25 players worth 30 million plus is the requirement now but it's way out of reach for a newly promoted club. Then there's the wages!!!! Then there's PSR and FFP.
The financial riches of the Premier league has created an ever widening canyon between them and the EFL and it will eventually become a closed door.
MA & KM have found some real gems of young players but one or two isn't enough and even 15 proven experienced Prem players would set you back close to half a billion to buy and a huge wage bill on top.
Some on here think it's all so easy.

Manchester United 'In Pole Position' For Delap

It could prove to be too soon. I hope not for Liam's sake but I think he could end up with a lot more bench time and a lot less playing time. This lad needs to play regularly to be the best that he can be.

McKenna: We're in a Difficult Spot in Terms of Availability
at 17:20:23

From day one in the Prem KM made it clear that our players would have to incredibly fit and run themselves into the ground to compete at this level. Injuries are always going to be an issue with such intensity but I'd rather see injuries than players not giving it their maximum week in week out.

McKenna: It's the Setbacks That Make You Stronger
at 10:02:34

I just wonder where all these moaning fans think the money is coming from to buy proven Premier league players? The fact is that PROVEN Prem players cost £60 million or more each. We spent £100 million on players to try and survive without risking financial problems. Had we have survived then we would be spending more to improve the squad step by step, The hard cold truth is that the Prem is such a high standard now that you need regular Prem income to establish yourselves.
The worst performing club of the Prem regulars are 15 points clear of the three promoted teams and have lost just 15 of their 33 games. So the worst of the Prem are far too good for the best of the Championship, and that happened last year too.
The question arising is "Can Championship clubs build to a high enough level to survive in the mega rich Premier league anymore, or is the Premier League becoming a closed shop for the wealthy elite?"
FFP was designed to prevent financial dominance but just how much would a promoted club need to spend to survive? Would even £250 million do it these days?

Johnson: We've Done the Club Proud
at 19:15:45

Having come from league 1 we have done better than the two teams that came down from the Prem two seasons ago. It takes time to establish and we went up earlier than anyone predicted. We are still building towards a bright future. Anyone who thought the Prem would be easy is a fool. Wolves are the worst of the established teams and there are far better than the three promoted teams. This is a recurring theme where teams cannot establish in the Prem because of the high standards and the money.

McKenna: Players and Supporters Did Themselves Proud
at 09:37:07

I'm old enough to remember a young Bobby Robson learning his trade here. Many wanted him sacked in his early years but the Cobbolds stuck with him and allowed him to develop great sides that played great football. KM is young and learning and has the clubs backing. I believe that continuity and togetherness will reap rewards. The away support this season has been awesome and shows that the supporters still believe in a bright future for our club.
