 | News Comment | McKenna: A Different Blackburn Team to the One We Faced Two Years Ago at 10:25:43
blueboy1981. So as a manager you wouldn't study how they play? You wouldn't look for their strengths and weaknesses? You wouldn't identify key players or those low on confidence? Just do what we do and HOPE that they haven't studied us and worked on tactics to nullify us. Personally I'd rather we played a game of chess than just roll the dice. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: A Good Night But Still a Lot to Work On at 08:37:49
When teams sit deep like Derby and Preston it seems that every deflection, every bounce, every loose ball goes to defender and it's so frustrating. In this game we got the luck of some deflections and loose balls but boy we did finish them well. If teams press high or play football we will be fine. When they sit deep we need to break them down and that is something we may see a lot more of. Hopefully some confidence from this result will help. |
 | News Comment | Núñez Happy to Be Back in Blue at 15:47:42
A new era is starting now with heroes of two and three years ago departing. Let's hope this new group can reproduce the spirit and self belief of those guys had and take us on to even greater things. |
 | News Comment | Chaplin Set For Pompey Return at 16:26:04
If Burns was fit would he go too? The group with that fantastic spirit that climbed two leagues are a thing of the past now. Can McKenna get anything like that spirit and belief from his new squad I wonder? |
 | News Comment | Woolfenden Undergoing Coventry Medical at 11:35:46
I have always liked Wolfy and he is a very good player but I never felt he was ever quite the finished article. I wish him well. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: The Most Broken Game I've Been Involved In at 08:59:47
I don't know how the Derby players and fans can watch such dross. Such an embarrassment compared to the great Derby teams of the past. I also don't know how the same old moaners and groaners on here manage to live their lives with such a negative attitude. They make Victor Meldrew look deliriously happy and care free. 42 games still to play so that's another 42 games more games to moan and groan about something whatever the result. |
 | News Comment | Eustace: Disappointing Not to See the Game Out in 'World Record' Injury Time at 08:35:54
If that's how he thinks football should be played I wouldn't bet on him being a manager for much longer. Fans might initially enjoy mugging teams for points but week in week out it will eventually bore the hell out of them. Fans want to be entertained with football not embarrassed by play acting and time wasting. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: The Majority of the Work's Done But Things Can Come Up Late at 12:24:26
Darkhorse28.This is now a squad game. McKenna has players who can adapt and play in various roles which he has always said he wanted. Lots of cover for all positions and flexibility. I don't think McKenna believes in a first eleven just a squad to rotate and all players being able to slot in and do their job when needed. Obviously those that impress will get more games but the door is open for anyone to play on a game to game basis. Managing minor knocks and strains and the odd ban will be much easier. |
 | News Comment | Town Agree Fee For Norwegian Youngster Egeli at 10:22:52
What a terrific few days but still we have some moaners on here. I just believe how some people live their lives with such deeply ingrained negativity. I have said all summer that MA will do the business and that there would be a mega signing that no one saw coming. MA does it again. |
 | News Comment | Azón Loan Deal Back On at 18:54:03
Cakeman. The medical is only part of the process not the end of it. If Nunez passed it last night then the contract is being finalised. There may still be some minor issues to agree before the signing is completed. Nothing is rushed these days. |
 | News Comment | Azón Loan Deal Back On at 18:50:08
Blueboy91 Why are you always so negative? You'd moan if we signed Erling Haaland. |
 | News Comment | Town Close to Signing West Brom Defender Furlong at 11:18:48
Some on here think it's all so simple. Contact a club and say "Can we but so and so?", " Yes of course how much do you want to pay?". Now speak to the player "How would you like to sign for us?", "Oh yes please, how much will you pay me?" Job done. Then we have the real world. Multi million pound business transactions, complex negotiations and lengthy contracts with multiple clauses. |
 | News Comment | Town to Sign Norwich Midfielder Nunez at 10:03:22
Lots of comments on here and the PInk Un about injuries but the stats say he played 32 league games last season and 3 cup games. As a first choice player that not a big number but todays game is a squad game and he may not be first choice here. NCFC supporters are partly slagging him off most mostly concerned over loosing one of their best players to a local rival. Apparently Leeds (Farke) are rumoured to be interested in Sargent. |
 | News Comment | Egeli: I Know There's a Town Bid, Up to the Clubs to Agree at 09:27:24
I suspect that some on here would see a house they like and offer more than anyone else just to get it. They would then skip the survey and the research and the fensa certs and the all the other bits and pieces. Move in with a week and hope it all works out. Some of us are more patient and like things done properly and doing things properly takes time. I'd love to this signing happen but not by paying too much and with MA ensuring that our club is nicely covered if and when he was to move on from here in the future. The players current club also want the best for their club so negotiations take time. |
 | News Comment | Anglia TV Commentator Harrison Dies at 16:06:02
Yes he had a soft spot for Norwich but he was very fair with his Ipswich commentaries. I seem to remember that he once interviewed Bobby Robson during a match and Ipswich scored and Bobby missed it. I seem to recall him saying "I missed it, thanks very much Gerry". RIP Gerry |
 | News Comment | Club America President Confirms Cáceres Bid Turned Down at 11:59:38
We are truly blessed to have fans who are so much more knowledgeable that KM. Too short, too tall, too thin, too slow, too cheap, too expensive, never heard of him so he must be crap etc etc. Some on here may remember when we signed Michael Chopra and how exciting that was? How did that workout? John Wark was slow and short but he had the knack to be in the right place at the right time and scored loads of goals. In his second spell he played centre back, short and slow but he read the game so well that he knew where to be to intercept a pass or block a run or a cross. Maybe sometimes KM see attributes in players that some of us don't even look for, Whoever we sign let's not write them off before they've played a few games. The late great Sir Bobby described a football team as a jigsaw. Not all the pieces have to be pretty as long as they all fit together to make the perfect picture. I know football has changed a lot since those days but it's still a game where a team does better than eleven individuals. Let's let KM select his own players of choice and trust his judgement of how they will fit into his way of playing. |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm McAteer Signing at 11:16:17
KM knows what we were missing in the Premier League and he is building this new squad around that. We must trust his judgement and his coaching skills. Just because a player doesn't set the world alight with one club doesn't mean he can't do it with a new club, new challenge and new team mates. |

 | News Comment | Town Reject Coventry Woolfenden Approach at 14:36:40
I don't think Wolfie is the kind of person to just sit back and accept that he's 3rd or 4th choice CB, he will be working on his game to get better and challenge the others. CB is also a position where injuries and suspensions can suddenly provide opportunities. We need quality cover and he provides that. |
