Can you smell the new smell? I interviewed this lot many, many years ago. A wonderfully creative bunch. |

More worrying than that is that they can have children. |

First game I recall being at was Mick Mills testimonial in 1977 but know I was at some before that but can’t recall which specifically. 48 years ago. Jeez. |

One day the Premier League will be like F1, travelling the world like a crazy carnival. |

We should be scoring more. We have Delap, one of the best strikers in the country (supposedly - and I do think he is) but McKenna can’t seem to play in a way to give him more chances. |

I don’t doubt Muric is a liability. But our other big problem is we have one of the best strikers in the country and we can’t play in a manner to enable him to score more goals. |

Ok, given the response this has received I thought I’d clarify. First, I’m not a budgie. I’ve been an Ipswich fan since I was a child and my parents took me to Portman Road every other week. I was at Mick Mills’ testimonial and also at Wembley for the playoff final. I was also active on this board a decade or so ago but dropped away for various reasons. I don’t want McKenna sacked. I think he’s done amazing things for our club and I’d like to reward that with loyalty. My post was more to do with the reality of contemporary football. After reading the interview with the American shareholder yesterday it struck me how he saw Ashton as the main man and not the manager. That kind of makes sense from a corporate viewpoint. My question was more to do with whether the current corporate owners of the club will be as loyal as us fans or could we see a point this season where the shareholders see McKenna as not sufficient for this league. If you think that’s a stupid thing to consider ok. I’d respond by saying the football world is now a business world and that can be brutal. |

Given it wouldn’t be a surprise for McKenna to move on after this season anyway how much longer do you think the board will accept this run of results before appointing someone else. Given Leicester have just done this and look rejuvenated when should we do the same. |
