Our eurovision entry
at 15:08 7 Mar 2025

It certainly isn't, not by a long chalk.

For the record, my favourite winning song was from the Dutch band "Teach in", in 1975, called "Ding-a Dong". A love a bit of bubblegum.

I seem to remember it being similar....

I like your sentiments about that lot up the road. Ideally they will be two up going into injury time and suffer an unbelievable collapse and let in two late goals (firstly a highly dubious penalty - retaken after the first was missed in 90+6 and the second a massive deflection off Gunn's nose in 90+8. The 90+9 clearly offside winning goal topping off the historic comeback, as their players fall the ground in paroxysms of stunned agonising disbelief.

Third Round Draw - Some Probabilities for you to ponder
at 17:39 2 Dec 2024

For your information and delight, the probability of drawing a team from the five divisions left in the competition are as follows:-

Premier League - 30.2% (19 possible teams);
Championship - 38.1% (24 possible teams);
League One - 19.0% (12 possible teams);
League Two - 9.5% (six possible teams);
National League 3.2% (two possible teams).

Sad I know, but I felt somebody needed to put this out!

I always like to guess who we are going to get in each round and I've got an unpleasant feeling that it will be QPR away!

West Stand - Severely Restricted View
at 09:58 19 Nov 2024

If and when the West stand gets developed it will be good to get these many restricted view seats reinstated with a clear view, with the removal of the metal stanchions, with the supports surely being re-built externally into the new roof structure.

Do any posters know how many seats in the West are marked up as "restricted" or "severely restricted?. I suspect the number is higher than many imagine. I estimate it is a 1000+.

It's a Morris Ital estate I believe, an HL, in sunburst orange.

Can anyone recommend some chilled background music
at 16:14 11 Oct 2024

My choice would be some early Jethro Tull, Nick Drake or any Cat Stevens from 1970 -1972. Failing that try some Pentangle or anything from the Flying Burrito Brothers.

Perhaps not quite a Rolls Royce. I'd say more of a JENson Interceptor.

Portman Road roof
at 19:50 12 Aug 2024

If the roofs are made up of asbestos sheets (not sure, but they look like they could be), I woundn't want those washed or disturbed in any way. We don't want loose asbestos or worse, asbestos dust, falling down into the stands and seats below.

Any marmalade lovers out there?
at 14:09 21 Jun 2024

Like it Keno. I love this video, especially the inquisitive cows. I bet they wern't expecting to be part of a pop video when they awoke that morning.

Marmalade were certainly one of my favourite bands from the late 60's and early 70s.

Magic by Pilot Derby Day memories - an omen?
at 21:21 3 Apr 2024

I remember this very clearly and have told a few fellow supporters about it recently and over the past years when I have been reminiscing about the two 5.0 victories I have seen over the budgies since I first watched Town in 1974.

Specifically, I clearly remember it being played when I was standing in the Churchmans, most certainly in response to John Bond's "magic" comments. I may be mistaken, but I'm sure the game was the 5.0 win in 1977, almost certainly played at full time to rub salt into the budgie wounds. I loved that song then and still do today as I love 1970's music and have Pilot's debut 1974 album "Pilot" which is excellent and contains this hit track.
