He's right. I feel that was our poorest performance in the last two seasons. A great shame as we have done so well up to this point. Two home wins now and six points badly needed in order to put things right. We were second best from start to finish and the away support was drowned out by the home fans. It felt like the whole stadium was for Norwich City. I feel automatic promotion is now vital, we just look exhausted and out of sorts. We rode our luck at times against Blackburn and Southampton but it didn't go for us at Carrow Road. Referee had a good game I thought. The Al-Hamadi foul was a foul but wasn't a penalty (outside the area) but apart from that he did a good job overall. Not easy to referee a match like that. Very different to the Portman Road game (I remember a really bad "red card" foul being ignored in the first 90 seconds of the match). Onwards and upwards. Need to focus on matching Leeds results now. I think Leeds will get 11 points from their remaining fixtures. We need 11 points also, starting with the next two home games. |

Just noticed that Buabo played as well, assume he got zero service as he's done ok in the first team. |

U21's don't seem to be doing so well this season. Did they move up into a different league this year? |

Good player. Could really raise our game. |

Robsonwark I can think of more skilful players in our side, but none quicker than Jackson. I'm not saying he's a world class player, but he has massively improved in the last two years. His finishing, positional sense and angled runs still need some work, but he does work hard and gives his all while he's on the pitch. |

Agree with martin587: can't see the logic in booing the team as it isn't going to help. Constructive criticism after the game is ok (as long as it's not picking out scapegoats for the performance). Booing just makes the team feel worse and they are less likely to improve. This is a team that has performed WAY beyond expectations all season. Woeful first half? Yes. But this team has performed wonders for most of the season. |

Just watched the highlights again. All they did really was press our defence and goalkeeper and we really cracked. How they didn't get a 4th goal was beyond me (what was Hladky thinking with that back heel???). Be interesting where we go from here. Teams have seen the success PNE had with that tactic and may well try the same thing. How do we go about dealing with it? Great debut by Moore and Al-Hamadi. Both players really made a difference. You could see that Al-Hamadi really wanted to get on the score sheet. We offered nothing going forwards in the first half, asking it easy for PNE to use that pressing tactic. We will learn from this, move forward and start with Al Hamadi and Moore from now on. |

Sports channels seem super happy now that the 3 ex Premier League clubs are 1-2-3 in Championship. Never should have had these massive parachute payments in the first place. Understand the reasoning, but what it's created in the sport is nothing short of ridiculous. The game? Woeful first half. Feel Preston were disappointed not to have more goals at HT. second half- introduction of two new strikers made a huge difference. What a debut for Moore! Every time the ball went in the area you felt we had a chance to score. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Maidstone United - Match Report at 23:35:40
Negatives Truly woeful result that we will be reminded of for many, many years to come. Badly in need of two or even three strikers. Positives We kept possession well and created chance after chance (unfortunately for invisible strikers). No injuries. It's a massive result for Maidstone. If they get a good draw in the next round it could be worth 1-1.5 million pounds, massive for any club especially if you are in Tier 6. Most of their players are part-time and holding down other jobs (electricians, fish and chip shop etc) so this could give them the opportunity to go full time? It's a shame we don't have that money now in this transfer window. I'm apprehensive about who we end up signing. How long is Ahadme out for and could he make a return? What about El Mizouni? |

Apologies GForce. I looked him up and saw he was sold at the beginning of the transfer window. Missed that completely! Ok, 4 strikers down. Not so good. |

Not that short on strikers Frank. Don't forget we have Tete Yengi, who worked his socks off last year and is very ready for a first time spot. |
