I've said this for a while now. The non-Marcus Evans members of the board appear to be able to exert little influence on the running of the club and right from the top, we are not a proactive club but merely reactive. I remember when Southampton got promoted to the Premiership and reading about Nicola Cortese and the question they asked was never "can we get promoted" but "HOW can we get promoted" or even '"how can we break into the top four", refusing to believe that nothing was impossible. He was the proactive driving force between their rise from League One. It seems that he had a plan for the club and a manager that would stick to it. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/features/review/10474313.The_engima_of_Cortese/ As I said, we are not a proactive club and it's a sad state of affairs from the boardroom to the untidy state of the stands and mudbath that we call the Portman Road pitch. |
