Who else was at Cambridge away in 1992?
at 18:00 13 Oct 2021

Yep, although I was sat in the Cambridge main stand as we were guests of Dion Dublins family. Had to sit still when we scored. As a child not easy. I remember the scrappy Heathcote goal. Messy game. Becks team were a nightmare to play against.

Far more enjoyable football

Burley was a great manager, but I wonder with the desperate craving for instant success that is only amplified under social media, how much pressure would have built when we were languishing towards the bottom of the championship each autumn in 96/97 and 97/98.

Indeed, you may recall the Gerry Creaney and David Whyte era, where there were plenty of chants for Burley to sort it out.

The Burley era was fantastic but let’s not rewrite history and pretend it was all rosy. Thankfully we had owners that placed faith in the manager to sort it out. Something we hope they do now. Let’s get behind the team and support them. Good times will come.

Is Fraser better than Bishop?
at 11:31 15 Jul 2021

Bishop might rip it up for one or two games over a three year period, but

- Look at his goal return and assists compared to Scott Fraser.
- His injury record and completed 90mins.

I think he’s just one of those players that won’t reach their natural potential for a variety of reasons. Very much time for him to move on.

Call them out for what they are - i.e.not good enough. Tell them that they don't have a future in your team and you want to bring in new people that are up for the challenge and understand what the company really means. Your bosses will back you.

Additional ST compensation just announced. Pretty generous to be fair and option to keep money in the club.

Flouncing levels reach a new high (or is it a new low)

That's the strangest part for me. Posters who i generally perceive to be more measured and level headed are shooting from the hip. All very reactionary and dramatic.

Flouncing levels reach a new high (or is it a new low)
at 10:14 13 May 2021

Unbelievable levels of flouncing this week. The week starts with people complaining that not enough players were released. Two days later the same people complain when the cull is wider than initially thought.

Cook has a successful precedent of such culls, with immediate success thereafter. None of the players have ripped it up over the last few years. Something significant needs to happen. Maybe just maybe the current crop aren't good enough. Our homegrown first team players aren't actually that young anymore. There is potentially a better crop of younger players coming through and we need some fresh recruitment.

The speed of which people have turned on Cook is alarming and representative of the pitfalls of social media. Perhaps we should employ a new manager every three to six months.

Ashton has started. Maybe not formally but he’s not got his head in the sand until June 1st.

Norwich not so clever afterall (or is it, no idea)
at 09:52 23 Apr 2021

They are light years ahead at the moment. However, if we finally get our house in order and depending on the outcome of 2021/22, we could both be back in the championship relatively soon.

A lot can change over a couple of seasons. With some momentum, who knows, but i don't see their current set up/incumbents lasting many more seasons. Football is cyclical and i would not be at all surprised if the picture looks different in 5 years or so.

Ultimately, i 'd love the derby to be back in the Prem though.

Take a look at the Wimbledon game - 2 mins in total. Not sure thats fine. Lots wrong all over the park, but Totos stray passes and poor positioning isn't for me in a promotion chasing team. We need to look for better.

Not so sure he will. The problem with Toto is that he always has an error lurking. Check out the Wimbledon lowlights and he manages to throw in a couple.....in just a 3 min clip. He’s certainly not alone in that, but I think we need to be doing better than that standard, across the board. Very few will be here next year. 🤞

A quick comparison:
at 09:41 11 Apr 2021

Interesting snapshot there. Can anyone recall the formation/shape that Gill employed in his bounce? The misery of the last few years has merged the games in my mind! I still feel Cook should be getting more of a tune out of this bunch, albeit they are implausibly awful!

Interesting he took the pen. Might be able to offer some advice to Norwood!
