Town Continue Pre-Season at Aberdeen
at 11:51:17

LIving up here in Aberdeen area good to see rivalry renewed. Weather great today for Town's trip to first club in UK to have an all seater stadium (70's)....and dugouts (before my time!).
On paper Town stronger but after Scottish Cup win there is a momentum at the Dons, including like Town, having a manager the board/chairman have bought into (literally with transfer cash) and the majority of fans are behind.

Blues Among Clubs Linked With Scotland International Miller
at 20:19:52

Ok there will be lot of competition but he could be 'sold,' Town: first team opportunities (for youth), good track record of Scots on board, a club with PL hopes in only 12 months time...be potentially exciting signing.

Town at Aberdeen in Pre-Season
at 21:50:43

Great fixture for me 45 miles NW of Aberdeen, Town supporter for over 50 years. The clubs had good connections when their representatives met regularly at UEFA for the draws for European competitions. And Sir Bobby famously went into the Dons dressing room after the UEFA cup defeat to congratulate them on their victory and predict they'd win the tournament- he was only a year out, European Cup Winners Cup in 1983!

Town Coach Grant Named Huddersfield Boss
at 18:04:54

Taking on a mid table League One side, I wonder if our position when KMcK took over has has inspired him? (Also doesn't seem that long ago Hudd. were in top league, so they must have loftier ambitions too).

McKenna: Our Motivation Needs to Match Brentford's
at 19:53:43

While accepting what KMcK says about Brentford being a decent club (and their manager's bus stop joke shows how much they have developed) if we'd still been with a shout of staying up, I'm sure everyone at PR would have 'bitten your hand off' for our last three fixtures....ahh well.

McKenna: It's the Setbacks That Make You Stronger
at 15:48:00

As others have said a considered post Mariner, thanks. Plenty of words will be posted on here over the summer as we all look ahead to '25-26. Nothing is certain re. next season's outcome, but if we've learned from it, as KMcK and everyone we've heard from on here from inside the club have said, then it won't be wasted and we'll be stronger for it. Hopefully we can keep most of the players we'd like to keep and not forgetting that unlike '23-24 we've got Championship experience under our belt (and even got known quantities in Leicester and Soton to renew rivalry with!) let's look forward with confidence.

McKenna: Recruitment Work Leaves Us in a Very, Very Strong Position Going Into Next Season
at 21:13:40

Mick Mills Tash,
Re. your Aberdeen comment, not saying they could afford GH (and I would think he'd fancy staying at PR, especially if post-LD) but they've upped their investment these past two seasons, not being out bid by the Salfords now!

McKenna: More Than Likely Town Will Be in the Championship Next Season
at 21:15:22

I would think pretty soon MA and the owners will be sitting down to take stock. I'm quietly confident that the owners will see us (and hence their long term plans) as having been ahead of schedule this season and hence be happy to carry on with financial backing and with KMcK in the dug out. Presumably we get a very healthy parachute payment this summer? (something we've never had to consider before!)
There are various reactions from teams when they go down, as this season's relegated sides have shown, but that's for a summer discussion on another day!

Congrats Megan. We've got a Scottish contingent emerging across the club with our two young keepers as well. Maybe a Burley or Wark will be found again one day (or the female equivalent for the women's side).

McKenna: A Really Poor Result For Us, a Game That Was There For Us to Win
at 19:23:24

Yesterday KMcK said this wasn't a 'must win game;' ok technically he's right, still a lot of games to go but he'll earn his wages this coming week in picking the team up after a game they must thought they could (should?) win.

Town Issue Statement on Morsy Armband Stance
at 21:25:33

Whatever any of us think about his beliefs (which I'd hope any open minded fan will respect) it takes courage to take a stand against the majority opinion, and with that in mind I think it's great that we've a captain with such strength of character.

McKenna: How Do You Turn a Big Club Around? I Know How I Did it at Town

I agree flykicking. What comes across here is that from the outset KMcK treated everyone as valuable humans. Give that respect to people and you bring the best out in them. The result we are now playing in the PL!

Blues Legend Whymark Dies
at 20:03:36

Sad loss for his family. In terms of football I think WBA was the Paul Mariner's first game for us? If so that was some understanding the two had quickly built up, Shows how good and clever Trevor and he both were as players. And on those pitches (compared to today).

Mark is extolling Ed but there is so much good input going into Town at present. I loved Mark's quote the weekend of the Villa game, when asked about the owners: 'Town isn't a vanity project but a sanity project.' Brilliant!
