If replays are going to be scrapped to help PL sides, why from Round 1 and not Round 3 when they enter? Heard Chairman of Cray Valley on radio earlier saying how much his club's replay v Charlton had meant to them this season (on TV? I can't remember). I checked- that was in Round 1. Why deprive smaller clubs of a chance, such as that, v a League One club? |

If we are still above Leeds by April 13th, surely that would cement Kieran getting it. But as others have said here, he should get it anyway. As an aside, just realised out home goals total- almost 3 per game, absolutely brilliant achievement for a newly promoted side. PR for entertainment! |

It says a lot about KMc, the players and other staff that we hit our best run of season immediately after coming through our bad run.
Also apart from our strikes today I think the most important goal was Saints late winner- we need them keep on Leeds' coat tails because we may need a favour on final day of season! |

Defensively not great but I suppose we need to remember Rotherham fighting for their Championship lives.
Looking ahead, somehow after Saturday, with only 12 games left, seems to me like the start of a run in. Birmingham improved under our old pairing but I'm quietly confident. Re Southampton I wonder how much the Anfield visit next week is on their minds, especially those who've never played there before? Friday night hopefully we'll see a Leicester reaction to their result last Saturday. Interesting week all round! |

An extra positive about the late goal, it should pretty much guarantee top 4 (at least). A lot riding on next few games for us; get our form/results back we must have a top 2 chance- I wouldn't want Soton's away fixtures (got play all of the top 5, plus the distraction of an Anfield cup visit) and let's see how Leeds away form holds up. Harness being commendably open about last night giving side more belief.
Long way to go, but so far we have done so well and up there with the 3 PL sides from last season. Re Leeds, their away games against lower down sides are proving to be their achilles heal- Stoke, Birmingham, Sunderland now PNE. As for Southampton they've still got to go to WBA, Leicester, us and Leeds (on last day of season!) so they've a lot of test ahead, although, credit where it is due, their current run in exceptional.

Good to hear Schumacher's comments, they seemed like a well run club last season. As he mentioned how well we are doing I don't think it off message to share a thought about the way the season in unfolding. I think Wed. night was big, as much for what happened at Stoke as at Ashton Gate. Leeds were on a bit of a charge and with their squad I was beginning to think they could be the one club to really challenge us...but if they can't get anything at Stoke...? Of the rest Middlesboro are going great but they've an awful lot to make up. I know there's a long way to go but it's almost getting to a stage of us having to implode for top 2 not to be a real possibility. Publicly KMcK and the lads will never come out with anything along those lines but I wouldn't surprised if the business brain of Ashton and even Gamechanger aren't beginning to wonder if PL investment might be needed in 7 months. |

After 2-3 games I remember someone posting on here that it was early days but that if we were still doing well after 10 games things would be 'interesting.' Well things are now interesting! Going by previous Championship seasons it's realistic to say that we're at least a third of the way to a top 6 pts total already, so it would take something of an implosion for us not to make that....over to you KmK and the lads....! |
