This one needs explaining. We need to be told why he's surplus to requirements, why this isn't a sale rather than a loan, what percentage of his wages Pompey are paying? Is this another Morsy, go for free when the contract is run down?
There's something odd about both these scenarios, in modern day football clubs don't let players go to the Middle East without financial compensation and Chaplin still had something to offer.

Ashton and McKenna have literally bought some time with the new signings but things need to fall into place pretty quickly if we aren't looking like a 'play-off' team at best.
It is very noticeable how the mood has changed on here, just 12 months ago it would have been a hanging offence to criticise or want the manager gone, now there are many who believe he's a tactical liability.

When they go on coaching courses they are shown different scenarios and ways to respond, like falling behind and needing to score - maybe he missed that day because it appears he relies on simply changing personnel to achieve something with plan A.
Recruitment is another story, he was appointed because he was a promising young coach who wouldn't get involved in transfer dealings so that Ashton could have complete control. Draw what you want from that but it hasn't worked out on the pitch has it? 4 wins in 40. Put the statue on hold. |

Recruitment.....massively poor. Players bought who are unfit, injured and cast offs from our competitors. But the owners will be happy that those leaving have boosted our bank account.
I think McKenna treats the players like robots, drilling them into some sort of playing style which he is wedded to. The talk of connections is hilarious, he's been the one who has tinkered with selection every game. I'd love to know how many times he has played an unchanged side. |

Let's face it we are a selling club because the owners want the money. Therefore it is always possible that a big offer will succeed. Broadhead was sold even though McKenna said he didn't want him to leave, regardless of the fact he didn't play him enough to keep him happy. Humphries is another who won't get a look in and will eventually leave because regardless of the way he has been talked up, won't be a starter.
We have begun the season with one injury prone striker and a signing who is unfit and now injured, how has this been allowed to happen? |
