 | News Comment | Town Finally Complete Philogene Signing at 14:30:36
Really happy to see this, finally, get done. It sounds like he's always been keen on a move here but the circumstances were out of his control. I feel for Ogbene and his serious injury, I wish him a speedy recovery. However, he was only signed because we couldn't get the Philogene deal done. Welcome Jaden, I wish you success but be prepared for some hard work. |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm Godfrey Loan Signing at 16:31:21
I always thought that he looked like a good young player at Naaarch. He was a little inconsistent, but I think that was because of his age. I was telling all the budgie supporters I know that they were selling a very good prospect, when he moved to Everton. Let's hope he hits the ground running, it might take him a while to adjust to our intensity and that of the Premier League. All the best Ben, do us proud. |
 | News Comment | Ashton: We’re a Fair Way Down the Line On a New Sponsor at 13:51:13
Gambling addiction is very harmful. Take it from a guy who works in a bookies. I've been at the job for 6 years and have seen many waste thousands of pounds, particularly on the gaming machines. They're designed to hook people in, giving them just enough encouragement to think they can win while fleecing them. Most of the gambling is fairly innocuous but there are some that I've seen lose hundreds, if not a thousand or more, in less than 30 minutes. I'm, personally, trying to find another job and there should be more light shone on the harm that gambling can do |
 | News Comment | Martin Frustrated, Angry and Disappointed at 12:38:47
A good high press led ro the Tuanzebe mistake and Greaves lunged at the pass which made Dibley's task much easier. He took his chance well. We were well on top in the first half and I think a draw was a fair result. Southampton defended the corner so badly, we had three players on the edge of the box and none were marked. The deflection was the only thing, it seemed, was going to beat Ramsdale, who had an outstanding game. I get Martin's frustration, the points were all but in the bag and then they defend the corner really poorly and they invited misfortune. Tough home game next so let's get right behind the lads and hopefully get rewarded with a point or three. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: The Players Will Come Away From the Game More Confident at 13:06:30
I thought we played very well in the first half. Liverpool weren't poor in the first half but we're caught off guard by our high, excellent press. Omari saw the headlines instead of playing Delap in, which might have seen us taking a lead in to the second half. I don't think we allowed Liverpool a shot on target in the first half, I might be wrong. Unfortunately, we wre caught out by the intensity and physicality in the second and as much s I love Massimo, he did leave Davies exposed for the goals. Hopefully in a month to six weeks we'll have our players and new signings up to speed and have a right good go at staying in the division. COYB. |
 | News Comment | Cajuste Set For Town Medical at 12:46:12
@Monkey_Blue I can't find any other reports of Cajuste failing a medical either. Everything I've read suggested that he passed the medical but then there was some problems with "the paperwork", whatever that means. |
 | News Comment | Phillips Set For Town Medical at 11:52:04
Sorry for the extra commas and other mistakes. I'm typing this on my phone and not wearing my reading glasses. |

If we can get this over the line I would be very happy. I see parallels with Ross Barkley, granted that they are different kinds of players. Barkley seemed to have goofed by moving to Chelsea and his career went backwards. Then, at Luton and despite their relegation, he played well enough to get a move to Villa. We're in for a long, difficult season and if McKenna can get a tune out of KP,, it might just make it a bit less difficult. He was never going to succeed at Manchester City, and im not ignoring his less than dazzling loan spells, but there's chance he could turn that around with us. |
 | News Comment | Town Closing In On Swedish International at 16:11:10
I know players will, by definition, look good in a highlights reel. Brentford seemed to very keen on him because of his stats and I can't find any report of a failed medical. I hope we can do a deal for him as we definitely need reinforcements, if we're looking to stay in the Premier League. |
 | News Comment | Gladbach Chief "Incredibly Disappointed" With Town Line-Up Switch at 13:33:09
This doesn't reflect very well on us. It's important to protect our senior players but it's also important to conduct ourselves properly. With the caveat of not knowing the complete picture, it seems like we're short changing our opponents. It's not the sort of behaviour that I've come to expect from our club over the last two or three years. |
 | News Comment | Town Working on Deal to Sign Burnley Keeper at 19:14:20
Vaz has done us proud but he's not the genius with his feet that some seem to see him as. Vaz could pull off a decent save and was acceptable with the ball at his feet. The couple of clangers that Muric suffered early in his Prem tenure were serious but he seemed to have ironed them out. One thing that Muric could give us over Vaz is commanding the box. I never felt comfortable when Vaz had to come to collect crosses and corners. He just didn't have the physical presence and would often get blocked off easily and flap/punch at the ball, not very convincingly at that. |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm Greaves Signing at 10:26:09
I agree blues1. Tuanzebe isn't our back-up. I think he's the best centre back we have at the club. If we can keep him fit, he should be the first defender on the teamsheet. I have a lot of respect and good feeling towards Woolfy but he's no Axel. |
 | News Comment | Philogene 'Set to Rejoin Villa' at 16:44:56
It's a shame he's not coming, as he's a quality player with tons of potential. A bigger shame is the time and energy that we've wasted over this. I never wish a player ill but I find his decision a little strange. He must have been promised some significant game time, plus the allure of European football. I'm sure we'll have a plan B. |
 | News Comment | Hladky: I'll Know Next Week Whether I'll Be at Ipswich or Somewhere Else at 12:40:29
Hladky is batter with the ball at his feet than Walton and is a decent shot stopper. The main problem with Hladky, as I see it, is his inability to command his box and gather crosses. We're going to need a keeper who is better at collecting crosses and not getting swamped at corners. I never felt comfortable when Hladky was underneath a hanging cross. He lacks the physical presence to to collect the ball under pressure. |
 | News Comment | Butcher Appointed Patron of Combat2Coffee at 17:09:25
I met the guys from Combat2Coffe, through my cousin, when we played Coventry at home last season. Really genuine bunch who serve the best coffee in the ground. Wishing them all the luck in the world and Biutch can be a great ambassador to them. |
