| News Comment | Reo-Coker Talks Set to Begin at 12:18:44
I don't think he's really what we need right now, however I see no harm in extending his deal for the season and making a final decision (as much as it depends on us!) then. In other words worth a punt! What we really need is an energetic influential midfielder who can score a few goals! |
| News Comment | McCarthy Disappointed to Concede After Break at 19:28:03
Decent performance overall and I agree with all of Mick's comments. We should be moving up the table now really. I think we need a decent central midfielder to play alongside Ndaw. Not sure Drury (Based on Wolves display), Hyam or Rea-coker can consistently do the job. Anyway positive signs! |
| News Comment | Jewell: Loanee Situation Not Ideal at 18:28:21
We would have been in trouble without it (£36m debt) but five seasons of Marcus Evans money, three managers and NO PROGRESS!!! In fact regression! Very depressing. We need a new manager yes but who? |
| News Comment | Ingimarsson Set to Join Chopra at Town at 18:54:52
Agree with arc. A good day for us today but we do need some quality (defensive and attack) in midfield. If Wickham stays (and if we play 4-4-2) we'll have two good goalscorers but lack of quality balls in was a major weakness last season. Still a very good start -lets hope for more. |
| News Comment | Austin Agrees Burnley Deal - Reports at 15:41:03
Until we are willing to pay higher wages this will keep happening. Unless we can sign a player before the press or other clubs get involved then any half decent (i.e. in demand) player will go to the highest payer. On this basis I think our only hope of promotion in the longer term is either astute (but relatively cheap) buys (a la Burley) and our own young players. Our owner has some ambition but not enough for us to be serious premiership contenders I believe. Mediocrity is most likely here to stay!! Sad but realistic I think! |
| News Comment | Keane: Two Points Dropped at 19:42:25
Was at the game. Two average teams putting an occassional good move together. Could have gone either way - like most teams and games in this division. Colback should have scored to win us the game - fine line between "success and failure". Colback would be a good signing. The Priskin thing (not even on the bench) does seem weird, but even when he played well he didn't score many goals. I am not anti-keane but do think it's time for him to go. |
| News Comment | Watford Match Postponed at 14:13:56
Why was the inspection so late? Referee's fault? Show's no consideration for the Watford or out of town fans. Should have inspection at about 11.30 am or midday at the latest. Pathetic! |
| News Comment | Keane: We Should Have Won Despite First Half Horror at 18:40:55
I think were likely to stick with Hyamand 4-3-3 (4-5-1) away from home now, but it's a shame we need to do that against fairly poor opposition. Would be nice to see Wickham/Scotland have a chance to form a partnership. Anyway still not a bad point away especially after being one down. We could still do better but overall more good signs than bad ones. COYB! Tough test on Tuesday to come against Reading. Would be happy witha point there too. |
| News Comment | Keane: Win But We Didn\'t Play Well at 18:33:35
Ten points from 4 games. Joint top of the league. Into 3rd round of CC. Won five, drawn one. Priskin getting two goals in four league games, and MoM today! I must be dreaming! And that with injuries and limited signings. Maybe less is more after all?? wake me up in May when we get promoted! |
| News Comment | Keane Pleased to Progress But Town Could Have Played Better at 08:12:38
Went to the game. Hyam looked excellent in that holding position and we definitely missed him in the second half. Top players for me Murphy, McCauley and Norris. And ODea in the first half. Priskin showed good touches but lacks energy and commitment. You'd never back him to win a 50-50 ball. He's just too "soft" in my opinion - can't see him being first choice barring injuries. Scotland looked promising given he's not fully match fit. Plenty of strength and power, good positional play and lay offs. Pleased we won. Let's get our first home win on Saturday! |
| News Comment | Stoke Confirm Walters Switch at 16:17:53
Glad it's gone through. Now lets get a quality striker, support striker, midfielder (need cover for Leadbitter/Norris) and right back - especially the strikers. Hopefully all will be sorted by 31st August. At least we're light years ahead of where we were this time last year! COYB! |
| News Comment | Lisbie Wants Keane Talks at 13:12:38
So glad sanj25 made his rediculous comments. The response to him has given me the best laugh on this site for a while! Well done sanj25 keep your idiotic nonsense coming so we can all have a good laugh! Glad that (apart from the afore-mentioned who know who) that there seems to be a unity on this one amongst town fans! |
| News Comment | Garvan to Captain Irish U21s at 11:20:47
Sadly Garvan, like a few of our promising young players over the last few years, has not developed in the way we hoped for or need. He has had plenty of opportunities. Nothing personal to him but to me he's just another "disappointment" that hasn't made the grade at Ipswich. So it's time to move on - both for him and us. |
| News Comment | Town 3-1 Real Valladolid at 19:48:17
Good result, looks like we have a clear first 11 for a change. Still need a striker and quality cover in midfield a bit thin, but lets hope for a good start and not too many injuries to key players! |
