Returning to the Prem - A Generation Game
at 20:33:51

Fantastic blog. As someone who has followed Town for 60 years I feel what has happened at PR a miracle
On par with what Ramsey did between 55 & 62 plus the progress of Town under Robson a decade later.
Ipswich have never been the media "darling" & in recent seasons we have had to play 2nd fiddle to our nearest rivals.
This Town miracle is new to all of us, but we deserve our place at the top table.
A year ago I sat in a bar on a cruise watching a premier league game. I talked to a chap a life long Man U fan living outside Plymouth
He had never heard of Keiran Mckenna. Well I reckon he has now

Hladky: An Amazing Three Years
at 08:16:00

Some of his saves rank up there with the Town best ever. But was prone to the odd mistake.
I suspect he was told early on this year he wasn't guaranteed the no1 slot.
Personally I still feel that Walton is a premier league keeper

Glass Safety Barrier Added to Cobbold Stand
at 15:46:10

We sit right next to what was block d. These seats had access to the centre spot facilities inc air con & hot water in the toilets. I assume the posh seats have been removed but in a stand which really is dated are we really going to give visiting games such luxuries as well as centre spot views. This small area should remain for home fans & move away fans to the front of the cobbold

Block D Season Ticket Holders to Move
at 14:00:42

Ansty I agree with you. Why give some of the best seats in the ground to away fans. With the move back to standing areas ( which I disagree with ) why not use the area at the front of the Cobbold stand

Ten Stand-Out Moments in Ipswich History
at 10:42:21

What a brilliant blog. For a follower of Town for 60 plus years & having the books I recall so much of what you relate.
I think of Bobby as the nearly man & often talk about 74/75, 76/77 & 80/81.
Always thought 81/82 Liverpool won because they went on a terrific new year run of something like 14 wins from 15.
The other seasons we lost out because of lack of depth of our squad

Goodman: I've Been Nothing But Complimentary About Ipswich
at 18:24:18

Sky didn't expect us to do well, hence we has to wait until the end of October before a second live game.
Town never been a favourite of the media. In 62 the London press didn't like it because we topped their beloved Spurs. Jimmy Hill ( of MOTD)never complimented the Robson team. He played with Bobby at Fulham.
In recent years the media up the A140 & particularly bbc look Norfolk have continued to ignore us

Town Set New Highest Average Home League Attendance Record
at 17:50:31

For someone who remembers the 70s well, This was the season we signed Mariner & if we hadn't lost Beattie at Easter to the fire incident we would have won the league.
Surprisingly the attendances in 80 81 was less.
Also it was standing only in front of both the west stand & then Portman stand

Season Tickets Sell Out
at 11:47:34

The seat next to me has been empty for the majority of the season. When I asked the club they advise allocated to a club employee, who clearly isn't using the seat.
This is such a shame when so many supporters can't get a seat

Leicester and Leeds Drop Points
at 14:56:50

When will the so called national media pundits realise that football is not played on paper. Last season Plymouth who were the 2nd best team in the league out pointed us. To me it is clear that Leeds & Leicester are better teams than Town but maybe we might do a Plymouth on them

McKenna: We Didn't Hit Our Usual Levels
at 15:29:24

The annoying thing is that this lot ( an average Championship side) have beaten & drawn against us this season. On Monday Southampton looked a far superior side as did West Brom earlier in the year. As said to games against the Budgies don't define our season as long as we remain in the top 2

McKenna: We Didn’t Defend a Couple of Moments Well Enough
at 09:32:38

Hindsight is a fantastic thing. Over the past month or so our substitutes have worked to our advantage. The opposite happened as no doubt we needed an additional defender or midfield if not both.
How Cardiff penned us back into our own penalty box is a mystery. But if you allow the opponents to do so the result is obvious & the warning was there when thy missed a sitter minutes before they scored

I to have the fear of their attacking force / vulnerable defence & our recent record against them But I feel that Steven Schumacher is a big loss to Argyll.

Palace Reportedly Fail in Move For McKenna
at 09:37:59

It is clear that Ipswich & Mckenna are going places, hopefully together.
Palace wouldn't be a wise move as their history proves. There is no way he will leave us for South London.
On the Robson topic Bobby was a sort after manager and did agree to join Everton. But changed his mind at the last moment because of his loyalty to the Cobbold family

McKenna: Another Game We Feel We've Done Enough to Win

A lot of comments about the amount of goals we are conceding. I know it's a tougher league than Div 1 , but last season we had one of the best defensive records if not the best.
Difference maybe the goal keeper
