Wide defence needs sorting out, has done all season. Attackers get crosses in with ease on both flanks with Davis caught high up, defence moves over and leaves acres of space on our right side. It's been targeted all season by the opposition. Tuanzabe needs support in defence in the wide position. Johnson plays over the half way line and does not support the defence. Whether that is an instruction, I'm not sure but, he offers no awareness of the attacking dangers of the opposition. Those saying we need Harry Clarke in defence, I despair, whole hearted he was, but hadn't a clue on positional defending, mostly caught the wrong side and unaware of attackers around him. He had a nightmare playing for Sheff Utd this week against Leeds and it highlighted that. He was taken off, supposedly injured! We can win tonight, but team selection and tactics need to be spot on. Superb effort from players but once again referees decisions against us changed the game. I'm still not convinced Johnson is up to it and I consider him the weak link on the right, his positional play makes him oblivious to wide attacking players and that's where many crosses and attacking chances for the opposition come from. Not sure why we signed Godfrey, surely it was to make us stronger in defence on the right side. |

Midfield should have been addressed. Ours is just not strong enough. It's slow, unimaginative, does not drive forward and help strikers to create chances. The signing of Phillips has not worked out at all. He offers nothing. We have concentrated on signing young players who play behind a striker, we have too many of similar qualities. Squad now looks unbalanced. |

After going to the game and watching the highlights this morning, these are my views. Muric should not play for the club in goal again. We were warned by Burnley fans before the deal was done, shocking signing. Full backs do not stop crosses coming into our box, unlike all opposition fullbacks that we seem to come up against. Our wingers can't beat their man and put good crosses in, they seem to like to cut in, run into traffic and lose possession. Midfield is too slow and play too pedestrian. Morsy is not good enough and nor is any of his partners for this league. Phillips should have been sent back to Man City. We can not afford his wages for the performances he has given us so far. We seem to love signing young light weight number 10's or wide players. So far they have given us nothing. Aston Villa worked Philogene out in the short time he went back. It was purely a money maker for them. Our team now looks very unbalanced with all the changes and devoid of a recognised system or indeed how to change play. Yesterday was a must win game but in fairness to Southampton, we never looked like winning. Our high press, hard working, pacey game has now been swapped for a slow build up game where we easily loose possession and do not win 2nd balls. Can't see us beating anyone unless our attitude and performance gets back to where they were earlier in the season. |

Johnson not good enough at all. Midfield not good enough, morsy too slow, shame we can't send Phillips back as he has given us nothing for what we are paying for him. Ben Godfrey had a 'tough evening' as Johnson decided to play up the pitch and vacate his defensive duties, it was plain for everyone to see and it was not addressed. Same result will be against Liverpool if that is once again adopted. Man City targeted that area and so will Liverpool. Johnson doesn't look fit or is out of his depth. |

In McKenna we must trust but personally I am fearful of another poor result tonight after seeing the team. I agree Palace will have a field day on our right side. Clarke always a mistake in him and keeps getting caught out the wrong side of players and Burns, well he hasn't once played well all season, it's either he is isn't fit, lost his confidence or not interested. very disappointed in him this season. As for Jack Clarke I was so excited when we signed him but all we seemed to have signed is someone who's only interested in wearing shorts that are 10 sizes to big and his constant fiddling with them, either pulling them down or pulling them up. For god sake boy, wear shorts that fit and just get on with playing football to your best ability for what we signed you for! COYB's |

Found it difficult to just listen to Radio Suffolk commentary to understand how the match was going. Looking at the brief highlights it seems we competed well, rode our luck once again in defence and has to be said very poor finishing, that is not up to Premiership standard. Strikers when given good chances just can't finish. Weak headers at the goalkeeper or off target when they should have been in the net. We must improve and I'm confident we will. |
