Yeah I remember the Apple dobbler - think it was a local Thorndon dish as my other Gran who lived across the Waveney in bandit country had never heard of it. Not sure on the condensed milk bit as we always had it with custard or ice cream. There was a variation on the theme which was a baked apple, basically just core a cooking apple, fill it with sultanas and bake it, skin and all. The good old days! |
