 | Forum Reply | Morsy could leave for free this summer… at 09:38 3 Jun 2025
Worth bearing in mind that the lack of income tax would almost double his earnings from the same weekly wage in Saudi though. On say 30k a week he'd likely be more than doubling his Championship earnings. The Saudis have thrown money at some superstars, but for the 'lesser lights' (people like Jack Hendry, Wesley Hoedt who had been playing in the UK) the relative take home pay increase is the real draw |

If you watch the Brentford v Fulham highlights it further showcases the complete lack of consistency. I can't think of many times this season where I've seen a foul go against us and say 'our player was lucky not to get a card there'. However we've received such soft 1st or 2nd yellows that have led to red cards several times this season. The Wissa and Tete fouls shown in the Sky 3min highlights are absolute cast-iron yellow cards, yet the ref was over lenient as they had both been booked. Without making this a blubfest, where has that leniency been for us this season!? You just have to look at the reduction in yellow cards we've received as the season has gone on, to see evidence of the reluctance you mention. Morsy is so skilled at walking the tightrope of an early yellow card, but he knows that tightrope just isn't possible amid the professional cheating that goes on in the Prem. I agree 100% that our commitment to tackles and breaking up play has suffered as the season has gone on because the players are increasingly scared of two quick yellows or a VAR intervention leading to a red. It's been a factor in us looking a bit limp the last few months, IMO. |

I'd assume the concern is based on him just coming back from injury and the relatively quick turnaround between games, considering he played the full 90 on Weds. I really hope he's recovered and can go again as otherwise it's more changes to that back four, which has been an issue all season. |

Sadly I believe he is out of contract. While we have got a lot more football out of him than his previous clubs were able to, he is unfortunately still an injury waiting to happen so hopefully Johnson steps up in the championship. [Post edited 27 Mar 8:57]

Where I think this is genuinely unfair is that every other club still has to hand over 3,000 seats to Bournemouth fans for their away games. If Premier League clubs have stadiums with an away allocation of 1,300 seats, then surely that is all they should be allocated for the reverse fixture? I appreciate segregation is an issue in some stadiums so some capacity would be lost, but we ended up with that scenario in December at PR anyway as 'plucky little Bournemouth' didn't sell out their allocation. |

Edit: sorry was in response to the OP, not this one! A really well reasoned post. I commented late in the game on how flat the atmosphere had been. When you compare it to the Chelsea game, we played in largely the same manner but our defensive astuteness was being roared on and cheered by the crowd at each intervention. Because it's 'just Brighton' that first 25 minutes (which we managed brilliantly, not giving up a single chance btw) seemed to frustrate the fans and kill any atmosphere. We got into the game more as the half went on but (as often seems the case at PR), the first ten minutes of the second half were flat as well even though the game was on a knife-edge. I do think the support need to do a bit more. It's all well and good making a racket against Man U and Chelsea, but we all need to accept that to stay up we will also have to do a lot of defending and playing in a low block to beat the mid-table (or less glamourous) teams as well. For me, the game plan was working until a soft goal and then as others have pointed out, we wilted and they grew firmly into the ascendancy. Games like this were always going to happen, we can afford to lose half our remaining matches and still be in with a great shot of survival. I think everyone just needs to be pragmatic about how we are going to have to go about getting those points. [Post edited 17 Jan 11:09]

Slightly happier Port Vale memories for me fortunately - the first time I'd seen us score 5+ goals in a game was NYE 1996 when we battered Port Vale at home. I was fairly young and given the frequency of the goals, that is the game where I felt like I first noticed the dancing stick men on the scoreboard when we scored (plus of course the iconic James Brown celebration music over the tannoy) |

I may have put 2 and 2 together to get 5 but I think a follow up thread named the player as Anthony Martial, but that his agent saw it as a non starter and he's now ended up playing in Greece. I'd love for us to go back in for the greek lad, but I can't help but think we're 5 or 6 points shy from being an attractive enough proposition for him given he's currently playing European football. Edit: just looked Ioannidis up and he is having a stinking season so far, so maybe more attainable than he was in the summer! [Post edited 12 Dec 2024 16:18]

 | Forum Thread | 55 seats available in Sir Alf section 1 for tonight at 16:26 3 Dec 2024
Must be player friends/ family tickets that have been returned. Same happened with the Fulham game, but to a lesser extent. The club should look to get these back on sale a lot earlier really, I imagine quite a few of these seats will now go empty, while you've also got fans sat behind pillars in other parts of the ground! |
 | Forum Reply | Heavy demand for Chelsea? at 11:53 25 Nov 2024
Yep the site was a car crash this morning. I had the same experience as the OP of having secured tickets, assigned them to members and then payment failing and them being 'unexpectedly removed'. I get that demand was high but that is what the queue is for as it takes pressure off the website by filtering people through in small batches. Frustrating that as it couldn't handle a few hundred people online at a time, that tickets ended up being snapped up by those further back in the queue due to system failures - especially if some are Chelsea fans! |

I asked similar last week and a few people on the forum were very helpful, as were the club to be fair. West stand regulars by Earls_Jeans 23 Sep 2024 10:49Is there a lift to the upper tier and is it made accessible to fans?
My old man had to bail on the Liverpool game as he wasn't going to be able to handle the steps to the 2nd from highest row in NS upper. He was gutted not to be there for his grandkids' first Prem game, so each game since I've been trying to get more accessible seats which for a group of 4 tickets together is very tough!
I've managed to get tickets in the West Stand upper family section for Everton with very few steps involved to get to the seats, just hoping there is a way to take the initial flights of stairs out of the equation! My Dad had no problems getting the lift and getting to his seat even though we arrived a lot closer to kick off than we had planned! |

Brilliant, thanks both. I'll get in touch with Lee. |

 | Forum Reply | Anyone used Total Football? at 10:25 18 Sep 2024
My experience with them is that 8-12 weeks is pretty standard and can be even longer in the summer. My daughters team are locked into using them for their playing kits, but while I'd usually prefer to support local businesses, for any other kits items I go online for the improved speed of turnaround. |

Keep popping up, mainly in SAR upper - guessing returned player family/ friend tickets. Worth a look if you wanted tickets today but missed out! |

Also can we just enjoy the sprawling position that Bam Bam is in when he plays the ball through. If ever a freeze frame epitomised a player's style it is that one! |
