 | News Comment | Jackson Signs New Deal at 11:13:33
I was convinced that he was going to leave us and become one of those players that doesn't perform at Town and does very well somewhere else. He did really well when he first came in, and unless a player has a really bad injury, they don't lose their ability over night. |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm Four Departures at 19:43:26
RobsonWark I don't know if the 4 loan players going back means anything. It's not a statement that we aren't interested in signing them permanently. I don't have a strong opinion about any of them. They all could be decent squad players with Celina having more potential. |
 | News Comment | Bookies Link McKenna With Watford at 11:15:50
Quite frankly KM hasn't earned a better job than the one he currently has because he hasn't had the chance to prove himself yet. So far he has earnt a crack at promotion next year without the inherited weaknesses and handicap in the league. He has the full confidence of upper management and the fans and financial backing. Even if he got us promoted next season, he would be mad to leave us for anyone outside of the Premier League and if he doesn't get us promoted next year, he won't have earnt a job higher up. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 4-0 Charlton Athletic - Match Report at 09:43:13
Monkey_Blue If he's learnt from his lesson and he didn't actually hurt anyone from the times he got caught over the limit, and he's trying to be a better role model, then I think there is room for forgiveness. Any player who gets caught drunk driving should have to make a public apology and do an education course on the damage done by drunk driving and perhaps meet a family who suffered due to drunk driving. Certainly, there should be an automatic three-match ban and loss of wages during that period. Don't you want to direct a reasonable amount of criticism towards the club for the way they handle this kind of thing. If the club is supposed to be a community club, then shouldn't they be role models for local kids and have basic moral requirements? |
 | News Comment | No Swindon Return For Simpson at 14:23:23
Absolute nonsense for the boy to move to a Championship when he can't force his way into a league one team. I'd give him a go from the bench if his attitude were right. His performances at Swindon should have opened the door to him. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Just Want to Try to Win Every Game at 12:25:19
Edmundo I totally agree, I actually don't care about the results, I just want the team to be putting everything into next season when we will be expecting automatic promotion, the playoffs at the bare minimum. |
 | News Comment | O'Leary: What a Whirlwind Year It's Been at 11:21:58
Everything seems to be going right behind the scenes. This season became a free hit in terms of how we perform in the league. Really it is unacceptable for the owners and the supports for us not to at least be in the playoffs after a full season with the resources we have invested. Next year is must-win we need to recruit the right two or three players that can make the difference. McKenna has a good foundation, but I have confidence that he will get a whole lot more out of the team and get better results after a full pre-season and a summer transfer window. We need to make a good start next season as our bad start left us struggling the whole of this season. Playing well and winning the last few matches will be a great way to build to a good start next season. |
 | News Comment | Town Agents' Fees £779,739 at 23:03:53
gosblue Yep, there should be no signing on fees/bonuses. The agent should just get 10% of the player's wages or the player should pay the fee if they prefer. |
 | News Comment | Town Appoint New Head of Recruitment at 11:15:52
Welcome and good luck. I'm not going to hold it against him that he was working at one of the clubs with the worst recruitment record. |
 | News Comment | Morsy Led to Believe Jackson Will Sign New Deal at 12:19:03
TimmyH If KM sees enough in Jackson for a new contract to be offered to him. I don't think that KM can get us competing for automatic promotion with the current strikers we have unless someone like Simpson bursts through. In that case, some of the players that are currently here are worth keeping, but not too many that we don't have room for new arrivals. I think our problems in attack especially (but the whole team inherited from Cook in general) are related to balance. Jackson brings something different with his pace that others don't. |
 | News Comment | Morsy Led to Believe Jackson Will Sign New Deal at 12:12:24
miltonsnephew I don't think McKenna is doing that well that he will be offered any great jobs. Maybe a struggling Championship club might come in for him. KM is just a rookie and needs to stay in one place and prove himself (which is currently doing). Our club has built a very strong foundation for KM to be successful. In 5 years we could be in the Premier League and KM could be leaving us for Man Utd. or Spurs. In the meantime, he needs to get us promoted at least once and probably prove that he can get us competing near the top of the Championship. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Ipswich is Going to Be a Very Good Place For Young Players to Be Over the Next Few Years at 16:40:16
I can't help feeling that the timing is bad from KD. He definitely can feel a bit aggrieved to have been overlooked, but the club is being run so much better now it definitely feels like he would have benefited from seeing how things go for a year or so, especially as the U23s are doing so well and now the clubs is finally starting to be run properly. I am sure that we'll see McKenna bringing the youth players through, but it is a bit of tall ask right now. Having said that, Simpson surely deserves a place on the bench to reward him for his efforts. |
 | News Comment | Bakinson: We Might Need to Win Every Single Game at 08:28:32
Whatever the table says, we need to get into the habit of winning games in a row and beating the top teams. It's not an unreasonable expectation that we win three games in a row or even five! |
 | News Comment | Celina: My Best Spell of the Season at 12:50:18
For the first half of the season, I was unconvinced by Celina and convinced by Bonne, now it's the other way round. Sentimentally, I would love for them both to stay and be successful. I honestly believe that we are a team that would be able to at least stay up at Championship level. We'd need a few reinforcements granted. |
