Do you think Southampton and Leicester will also lose their “cheat code” players? Fernandes, el khannous etc.? I don’t see superstars in some of the other teams, but the two teams that came down with us do seem to have less noise around their star players - of course it might be that I don’t follow them as closely. |

I had thought of that, but I also think that strategically we don’t just want to use a loan slot to be polishing a player for someone else with no chance of picking him up at a decent value - we would want a “if we go up he is ours for 20m” clause and Brentford would not do that with a player they spent 30m on, would they? They are not Manchester United!
In any event, it seems to have gone very quiet on the Omari front…. (Yet more wishful thinking) |

The U21 should be the Hutch replacement - don’t think we will have a like for like replacement in experience, but we might look to repeat the previous trick |

Exactly - now we just need to find another young Hutch and turn them into the next 40m sale in two years time - unless of course we stay up this time!
I wonder if other clubs' fans are always looking at what they paid for the player rather than the cash in the door |

He also worked his socks off - at least that was my perception. Hutch has skill, but he also has a huge engine, and that was really important to his effectiveness. I suspect JS would similarly be more of a KM player than a Burnley player in their system |

the article was basically saying that César Luis Merlo, the person who said Ruiz did not want to come to Ipswich, is their version of Fabrizio Romano - normally well informed but he may have got this one wrong - he has made no decision because there is no offer on which to make a decision |

In retail terms we are currently in week 29 - I don’t really understand how he can be at 43 games already this calendar year.
My super comprehensive Wikipedia search suggests that the 24/25 season in Mexico gets cut into two - they play a load of games in 2024, then in 2025 they play 17 league games, 6 games in the end of season tournament. He also played 5 national team games and one game in the new season. I may be missing some but I can’t get to 43.
No question he has miles on the clock, and we need more than just him - but it would be amazing if he did join |

You don't think they have a decent recruitment team who have managed to land them Mbuemo, Wissa, etc in the first place? They have recruited Kelleher in goal, a new midfielder from Holland, probably more that I have missed and will use any incoming funds very wisely. I don't think they are in any way doomed, albeit it will be tough no doubt. If they do survive it will only reinforce that top 17 narrative |
