Pearson
at 17:20 20 Jan 2022

Pearson isn’t bothered should Bakinson join you guys on loan. He said exactly that in todays presser. He added that he doesn’t want players at AG who want to leave.

Bakinson has slipped down the pecking order at AG and has hardly played. Pearson has build a decent midfield already - no room for Bakinson

He’s a tall and languid type player but doesn’t exactly get stuck in and party why he’s slipped off Pearson’s radar.

New Director of Football Operations appointed...

Not all of them - Probert is the exception. We’re glad to see the back of Ashton and Rolls tho.

We all thought exactly the same when he first joined at City but it wasn’t long before he began showing deep distain toward fans.

Comments like “it’s communication not consultation” when challenged by our Supporters Trust over him increasing the season ticket prices.

You’ll guys will find out soon enough.

Another Bristol City former employee poached by the smarmy Mark Ashton

However in this case Gary Probert is a good bloke and did an excellent job at City - he’s the best of the ones joining you guys from us. We’re sorry to see him go.

You’re getting a top guy here.

Brizzle City Fans, what exactly is their beef with Ashton? (n/t)
at 12:44 17 Sep 2021

We are all football fans and we at City don’t have the slightest issue with fans from other clubs visiting our forum - as long as they’re respectful and not there to criticise us.

I think I’m respectful and definitely not here to criticise.

All I’m doing here is to give you the heads up about Ashton and what to expect.

A few days ago I posted a link on here to our forum - otib which highlights what we City fans think about Ashton………..

Essentially he’s an egocentric smooth talking fraud.

That wasn’t obvious at first but his true colours shone thru when he said to our Supporters Club “ it’s communication, not consultation” after being challenged about putting up the SC prices.

As I said the guys a fraud.

Most of us were disappointed when Skuse left City - he was a top player for us.

Flint was at City before moving to Boro and then Cardiff. He’s a big tall CB very much a a ‘head it and kick it’ 1970s merchant. He’ll get you a goal usually from a set piece but up against quick and tricky strikers he’s easily exposed.

L1 is about his level.

He was something of a legend at AG, not because of his limited footballing ability but his amusing interviews. He has a great sense of tumour.

Wow!

A very angry post.

No need to tell us what and where we are - we already know that.

That vast majority of our fans feel that without Ashtons input into recruitment of players and managers we’d have reached the PL by now.

Fans support different football clubs but the similarities between us all is that we’re all fans of the beautiful game and some, like me enjoy chatting with other fans. I did not come on here to wind you up or slag off your club but some of you seem it necessary to ridicule my football club - why?

Cole Skuse signed for you from us and was a reasonable success and has now moved along the road to Colchester - he’s a player that still decides opinion on his contribution to the team back in Bristol.

As I stated in my OP you guys are in for a few surprises with Ashton and his cronies in charge and I’m just giving you a heads up as a gesture of goodwill amongst football fans.

Your new CEO as you know and we’ve seen what he’s had to say to you guys and we’re all falling about laughing. 😂

He said the same to us when he was appointed at City and over his reign he messed up the appointment of a new manager, recruited below par players and essentially took us backwards. We only just avoided relegation last season - but of course that had nothing to do with him.......

He’s also brought Andy Rolls as head of fitness with him along with another cronie Luke Werhun our previous club secretary.

Rolls was involved in horrendous injury crisis at Asrsenal a few seasons ago and again last season at City when our injury crises was the worst in living memory.

Initially you’re going to impressed with Ashton but it won’t take too long before you all begin to question his validity.

As for Rolls - you can almost certainly expect a number of lengthy injuries.

Anyway, hopefully you’ll be bounce back into the championship soon but if Ashton gets involved in recruitment don’t hold your breath!

That’s very insightful and 100% accurate.

After Johnson was sacked it took weeks to appoint a successor with Ashton and Jon Lansdown doing the interviews.

As fans we were calling for a guy with a proven CV of getting clubs out of the Championship and we were all disappointed when the novice Dean Holden got the job - lovely guy but lacked and credentials

At least now we have a manager with promotion on his CV but he’s starting from scratch with a poorly recruited (Ashton) bunch of players. Fortunately several of the dross are OOC this summer

The South West has always been a footballing backwater. Rugby has always been the most popular sport and these days the Bears share AG and frequently get crowds bigger than the football team.

Exeter Chiefs Gloucester and Bath are all local rivals and the derby matches sell out.

Anyway, glad you could see the funny side of Doris the tea lady joining you. The guy that posted is fantastic at writing just as Ashton speaks. He gets a lot of laughs on otib.

We had a horrendous injury list this season, the worst in my memory which caused plenty of questions particularly with the physio/medical departments of which Rolls was one. In fact one players complained about his treatment to the Athletic and that was copied by a local hack in our paper the Post - and the crap hit the fan.

Nigel Pearson was appointed on the three year deal recently and the first he bombed out was Rolls who has joined you guys at Ipswich. I assume he and Ashton are buddies....

Long injury list follow him around so don’t be surprised if the same happens at your place.

You guys can knock Bristol City all you like but as fans we’re delighted to see the back of Ashton and Rolls.

It won’t be long before Ashton puts up the prices on your season cards without any fan consultation. It was only when our Supporters Trust got involved that Ashton backed down
