I come bearing news from the future
at 11:47 3 Apr 2018

Hey guys, future JackSted here.

Just want to give you all an update (from the future obvs) of what's happening with Mick and the gang.

So on the 10th April Mick quits ITFC during his press conference. We appoint Bryan Klug as caretaker until the end of the season around the end of May it was announced that Paul Hurst will take over in the summer (we also finish 12th, just above Norwich by GD).

The Drum & Monkey pub reopens and causes mass celebration among the SBR section 6 firm. Evans also decides it's time for the SBR and SAR roofs to be cleaned, but to fund this he ups match day ticket prices to £49.99 per person (however it includes a complementary read of the Ipswich Star and a signed picture of Stuart Watson so the price hike is worth it).

Season starts well - we beat Norwich at home in front of a crowd of 34,500 after Evans decides to add a third tear to the Cobbold stand. And after Christmas we get through to the 4th round of the FA Cup, which obviously causes a mass pitch invasion against lowly Stevenage. The pitch invasion also caused PR home games to be abandoned for 2 months due to the pitch getting ruined and not having a proper groundsman to fix it *cough*. This then meant we had to ground share with Colchester.

We lose to Peterborough again 7-1 which causes all Ipswich fans to have Vietnam Flashback-esque PTSD. After the defeat to Peterborough riots form on the streets of Ipswich calling for Steijn to be sacked. A big screen TV is installed at PR which ME uses to address to the fans and during HT against Hull on the 4th May 2019 he announces on the TV that Steijn has been sacked and a new manager will take control of the second half.

To everyone's shock Mick McCarthy appears out of the tunnel to the theme of "Take me home, Country roads" and signs a lifetime contract with Ipswich on the pitch in front of 38,500 rioting fans (ME decided to add a 4th tier to the Co-op stand during the international break).

We finish 13th that season, above Norwich on GD again.
