McCarthy Has Sympathy With Town Players Facing Relegation Pay Cut
There are some VERY thin-skinned fans on here! Our most successful manager since Magilton answers a question with his characteristic honesty and some of you get hyper-defensive instead of reading between the lines and realizing MM is still resentful that he was squeezed out of a job (and a paycheque) he loved by a majority of fans.
Those fans believe they have won. I'm not so sure. It is conceded that we would not have been relegated under MM. And it is just as likely that we will do a Coventry as a Leeds when we enter the third tier. And this is why fans of this great club remain divided. I appreciate PL's effort to involve fans and ex-players as well the community - sorely lacking during MM's tenure. If we are successful and promoted playing exciting football, whatever MM says will not get a reaction. If, however, we labour in the third tier, like we have in the second for more than the past decade, he will continue to reanimate the vitriolic amongst us. To unify the club we need to move on, we need to start winning...
Carter-Vickers Linked Again
Haven't Spurs played CCV at right back this season? If he can cover CB and RB then get him in even if he is the 6th loanee.
Stoke Linked With Knudsen Bid
@itfc1973 lowest point in past 40 years supporting town was the Roy Keane debacle. No question.
Stoke Linked With Knudsen Bid
Improving asset who can cover at centre back. No guarantee he will be starting left back as Kenlock improves but we need competition for places. Always gives 100% effort. Definitely worth more than 1m as a current Danish international even if in the least year of his contract.
Town: We Have Conducted Ourselves Under EFL Guidelines
dannysigma you're quite wrong. You appear to have a chip on your shoulder about being Welsh but that doesn't mean you get to decide whether davidc1971's joke is racist or not. By all means you can object but you don't get to determine it's acceptability as that is subjective - eg. I showed it to my best mate who's from deepest, darkest Powys and he thought it was funny and reckoned you need to get over yourself.
No offence intended, I'm sure we can agree on many other things Ipswich-related but throwing around accusations of racism is not on.
Ipswich Town 0-0 Barnsley - Half-Time
Bad news for the Mick haters - who also turned on Knudsen earlier this week - but our Danish international defender has put us 1-0 up.
Town Confirm McCarthy and Connor to Leave at End of Season
MM record to date: Won 103, Drawn 79, Lost 93.
Much better than Jewell and Keane, of course, but about the same as Magilton (W56, D51, L51) which surprised me. Admittedly the entertainment has been sorely lacking recently and there wasn't a single cup run during MM's tenure but ITFC is in better standing than when he arrived - not just the league position but also financially (thanks to astute signings that were later sold for millions) and the youth set up (though much of the praise most go to Klug never forget how a previous manager (Keane) decimated it).
I'd like to thank MM and TC for their efforts. I don't doubt that they did their best these past 5 and a half seasons but the results simply haven't been good enough for a while and this club needs to be challenging to get back into the premiership. Let's hope this decision makes PR a loss toxic place to be.
Sears May Consider Move to Play More Games
Most managers these days play only one centre forward & MM is no exception. Had MM played 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 more often, I'm sure Freddie would have been played in his preferred position more often. However, he wasn't going to oust Murph nor Garner/Waghorn so he was shoehorned into the team on the wing to utilize his pace.
Sometimes playing players out of position works - eg. Connolly as DM. Sometimes not so much - eg. Chambers as RB. Unfortunately for Freddie, as was the case at West Ham, he isn't quite good enough to be the main man up front. Love his attitude and hope he scores a few before he goes.
Spence and Hyam Start at Wednesday
3 defensive midfielders against an out-of-form Sheff Wed seems overly cautious.
Also we've had the advantage of an extra day's preparation and no game on Saturday. If there's any truth in the modern theory that successive Sat Tues Sat games cause fatigue, we should be at them from the start. This is their 8th game since 10th Feb. Hoping to see Santie & Garner on 2nd half (and not for Muzzy & Waghorn).
Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom Linked With Blues Boss
Why is he a "moron"? So you don't like his brand of football, and neither do I most of the time but he gets wins at Derby & Preston (as well as disappointing defeats too) and has achieved relative success this season considering no Huws, Dozzell or Bishop.
I doubt there's any credence in the Daily Mail article but it's unlikely MM will be unemployed for long if ME does let him go.

Sorry, not triggered though you clearly are.
If I have downvoted you in the past, it's because you personally attack other posters. As I have a degree of sympathy for your stance viz a viz MM & ME and the lack of entertainment at PR, you must abuse fellow fans in 80% of your submissions.
After reading your post, can I have the last 5 minutes of my life back?
