My worry about this is a leadership issue. Morsy is on reduced time this year/moving on and if we sell O'Shea for Tanganga we're losing a lot of leadership. |

Replied there at an espresso pace. Also, why would we pay £22.5m or more for someone who doesn't really fit our striker profile? |

We had an interest in Pierce Charles at Sheff Weds last summer. |

It's Jaden on the back of the shirt for two possible reasons: 1. Philogene-Bidace (his actual surname) would be too long. 2. A difficult family history that means he doesn't really want to use the surname, same as Dele Alli. I think you're overstating things here to suggest that Jaden on the back of his shirt means he's not a team player or is only allowed when players have achieved something. |

I agree that outside the Premier League would be a better time to press on but I think Ashton has said that expanding the West Stand by 5k would mean that people can move over from the Cobbold when it gets demolished. Guessing that won't happen this season but potentially in the next 2-3 years. |

Both. Encouraging him to stay with a pathway to captaincy and saying to other clubs that he's at least £20m if you want him. |

Funny. Look, I think Aro has made a lot of mistakes this system and he needed to get out of the firing line. Yet Palmer has a 63% save percentage (Walton 52%), which hardly suggests the GK situation has greatly improved. The problem is that overall the team has been good enough. Yes, that includes poor individual performances but these have to be seen in the wider context. None of the promoted teams have been able to bridge the quality gap and PSR has stopped them being reckless to do that. Would Muric have made less mistakes if we had a settled CM combo that could get on the ball and take less pressure of the defence? Probably. Would it have helped if injuries meant we couldn't play a settled back 4 for much of the opening months? Probably When the issue is an underpowered team, creating hypothetical situations like playing Walton all season and gaining 9 more points is just wild conjecture. |

Sorry I'm confused. What's the issue for Leicester H? We got done as we let Leicester run at us and didn't commit a tactical foul. Southampton I agree with. Have to disagree. It's plain and simple that we haven't got a squad that has the physicality and quality to compete in the PL and would have struggled to get the players in who wanted to play for us. GK issues are one part of it. Walton still made errors leading to goals and you can only speculate on whether he would have made more mistakes or not. Claiming we'd be on a par with Wolves if we didn't play Muric is reductionist and ignores terrible injuries/poor referee decisions/the struggle to evolve a team that had a double promotion. Our struggles this season can be classified as being middle weights in a heavy weight division. To blame this season on asingle issue like Muric is not plain and simple, it's trying to explain a multifaceted situation by blaming a single unpopular individual. |

Sarr signed for a team with 12 years in the PL and the corresponding squad quality around him. The quality of player for that price simply isn't going to come to us so comparing the prices doesn't make sense. We wanted Buendia and Ioaniddis but they didn't want to come. Can only sign people who want to come here |
 | Forum Reply | The negative cr@p has already begun ... at 21:37 8 Mar 2025
Agree to an extent but I think we'd have been hard pushed to have found enough quality players that wanted to come here, given we were rejected by many of the ones we tried for (Ioaniddis) and got Cajuste because Brentford pulled out of a deal. Yes the scouting network needs rebuilding and hasn't kept up with the club's on pitch progress (very hard for most other things to keep up). I would be cautious about a hypothetical where a bunch of bargain players signed would have kept us up, given the time they would have needed to acclimatise. Same hypothetical where people suggest we would have done better playing more of the L1/Champ players. |

If we hadn't made the summer signings we did we'd be further adrift at the bottom than we are now. |

This is so true and is exactly why Bournemouth will spend £40.2m on a striker and not expand their tinpot stadium. The fact the ownership want to expand the stadium is striking, given that Bournemouth and Brentford will happily stay at under £20,000 for as long as they can. A redeveloped Cobbold will add value to a potential club sale in the future, but they won't make their money back in gate receipts, hospitality etc. for a very long time. |

Instead of Clarke/Odobert? |

Given Watford sold João Pedro to Brighton for circa. £30m, can imagine they will drive a hard bargain. |
