Lambert's Pre-Shrewsbury Press Conference Live on TWTV at 9am on Friday
at 09:27:48

@PositivelyPortman- the tweets is the iFollow interview not the press conference- that will follow.

Keep up, it is like you are a pitiful amateurish fan :-)

By Any Means Unnecessary
at 10:12:37

A really insightful blog. I'd like to think most fans appreciate a good game even if we don't win- however painful that often is. With Bolton playing 1 up and potentially 5 at the back this seems a perfect game for PH to play his 4-2-3-1, full backs bombing on & inflict ourselves on the away team.... *crosses fingers^

Blues Again Linked With Shrews Pair
at 10:42:39

'According to The Sun on Sunday...'. At this point the story lost credibility. Why does TWTD have to resort to scum papers to impart information to it's readers?

First we we signing Pardew, then McClaren, then Ross, then, then, then, then..... all apparently ripped from tabloids desperately looking to fill their pages.

Come on Phil, have some integrity, keep it local...

Nobody Would Want to Play Millwall at the Moment — Notes for Millwall
at 15:08:05

As always, a must read.

Every time I see/hear a MM press conference I watch in awe at just how tefal he thinks he is when it comes to responsibility. Always deflecting, closing off anyone that might suggest bad decisions he may have made.

Wish he would be put o gardening leave till the end of contract. Hate his 'style' of play and, frankly, hate the fact I'm going to see it 3 more times.

How Mick McCarthy Accelerated His Own Departure
at 11:19:34

Quality, Harry..... and didn't even need to mention his abuse of Town fans at Norwich.

The annoying thing is that McCarthy clearly made some very good signings, was able to do a fair amount with comparatively little & all ITFC fans wanted was to be considered important to the club & manager -AND- to be slightly more progressive in style of play. Both attainable.

A demise very much brought on by his own hand, and showing a pattern in behaviour at all clubs.

Dukey44... I agree, I too think MM should go. That doesn't excuse the level of ignorance, trigger happy negative comments and intellectual pygmyism found among comments.

Glad I amuse you, though... keeps you away from the sharp objects.

Lightingblue is typical of some comments here. Utterly out of touch with facts & any comment they can muster to fit their narrative. It is like having a human Daily Mail posting on TWTD.

Bart, whether he signs the new contract or not, would be obliged to play another year if we triggered the extra 1 year option- which we obviously would.

An Uncomfortable Truth
at 09:58:30

@ SanityBlue- Whilst I like the idea of the club being owned by the fans, finding 10000 people able to pay £10k into the club will be pretty much impossible (or even averaging that amount.

Aside from that though, once they owned the club who would put money in every season to keep it afloat? Most of the moans and groans are about the lack of investment, if that £1k on ave each across 10,000 was achieved, where else does the next set of cash come from?

I'd prefer to be prudent, invest in youth players and be patient for them to come through.... as long as the manager plays progressive football and will trust young players. Both which MM fails at on the whole. Hope is what I want, not one large vomit of cash that could put the club in jeopardy-

Cue posts by people that have never seen him play more than a couple of times, if ever, how he should stay and how we are getting rid of talent.

Have I Really Fallen Out of Love With Ipswich Or Have I Just Grown Up?
at 10:48:04

I fear, once you have the bug, you never really lose it... I've been utterly bored during the last 3 seasons with performances acting as Harry Potter's 'Dementors', draining all life and goodness from me.

Now, with the end of McCarthy in sight, young players impressing & a modicum of passing intent on the pitch, it has dragged some hope back into the equation.... for me, anyway.

Great read, majestically better and more thought through than the normal inance comments many others post to each story. It would be interesting if you did a running monthly update for the rest of the season,as the likelihood of a new manager approaches, to see if your views change at all.... to see if, for you, Pandora's Box was completely empty.

Ticket Promotion at Forest Match
at 19:20:10

If we all had the self righteous attitude of posters above we would never have new supporters. Always has to be a first time or a 'coming back' time. In fact, what is wrong with now and then supporters.... or is extra money to the club a negative now?

I pat a lot for the 3 season tickets I pay for too.... but then, I just want Ipswich to be successful & part of that is through having larger gates. Clearly others are only worried about what's in it for them...

Ticket Promotion at Forest Match

12th Man... why is your hand out for more?

I'd like the club to give out a few '000 tickets each week to kids just to help addict the next generation... that is if the moaners and whiners don't put them off first.

Getting more people in the ground is a positive thing, unless you are just looking after yourself, of course...

Ipswich Away Next, Can Anyone Honestly See Us Winning? — Notes for Sunderland

Cobbold Stand Season Ticket Holders Face Move for Increased Away Allocations
at 12:40:02

Makes sense. Perhaps inconvenient for some ITFC fans but this will increase money into the club and they can move to a more expensive are for no extra charge (which is at least an appreciation of the hassle).

Good job.

McCarthy: Norwich and Brentford Goals Show How We're Trying to Play
at 17:05:56

The last month of games have been a breath of fresh air yet the normal whiners have already started to dribble out of their own butt cheeks with negativity after just one poor game. Perhaps they should just go and support one of the top 5 Prem teams if all they want is top quality football every game.

Things have been better recently, if all games continued as dull as Sat then, sure, it would be a concern but you have to question whether these posters actually bother to go to the games if they moan so quickly.

McCarthy Yet to Speak to Diagouraga About Future
at 16:59:47

Some seriously dull ITFC fans based on previous posts... We have been much better over the last month yet just one pretty dull display brings you back out of the cracks in the pavement.

If the next few games go the same way then I'd start to agree but the short-termist attitude is intellectual pygmyism.

Shall We Sing a Song For You?!
at 08:15:08

The Leeds game was the first one this season where the away fans haven't called us a library in the first 20 minutes..... my son and I have a bet on which minute we'll hear it.

Having more participation would be awesome, and having a club song would be perfect. Edward Ebeneezer is an okay shout, but fast lyrics rarely go well in a chant. An Ed Sheeran song would be a good call- the Hibs club song is only because The Proclaimers are local fans, and for those that call Sheeran 'cheesey', believe me, nothing gets more cheesey than The Proclaimers! Castle on the Hill is also too fast though.

Blloyd333's suggestion of John Devers 'Take me home, country roads' seems a good call. The chorus adapted perhaps to:
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
Ipswich Town, Portman Road
Take me home, country roads

... plays up to the Tractors theme?

Regardless, anything that gets more atmosphere into the ground for a whole match is something I'd love.
