He is 29 years old. He looked very promising in his youth at Arsenal winning many England caps at a junior level. Since then he has had numerous clubs, the only spell where he really did well was at Middlesbrough from 2020 to 2023 under Michael Carrick. However, Carrick could be seen as a similar type of coach to KMc, so maybe he could do well here. |
 | News Comment | Cajuste 'Favouring' Town Return But Decision Still to Be Made at 17:31:12
KMc and the medical team had all of last season to look at him, so they must be satisfied about his form and fitness. We are one of a large number of clubs after him. He needs to make a decision, but I accept that it can take time due to any number of reasons (career, money, family, etc). I would like him to sign for us. |

In essence, we need to sign two central midfielders and a centre forward. To make financial room for that, could do with losing one of our four goalkeepers and Axel. |
 | News Comment | Szmodics: I Refused to Play For Blackburn at 14:49:11
Bazaar; I hope that you are right as he is a talented player and I would like to see him stay on. However, it always makes me smile when people say something along the lines of he’s so settled here, house children in schools etc; don’t they know how easy it is to commute from Ipswich or Colchester to London? |
 | News Comment | O'Shea: I'm Fully Committed to Town at the Moment at 14:08:35
Of course he wants to play in the PL; who wouldn’t? At the age of 26 he is coming into the best years of his career so it is perfectly understandable if he should want to spend them in the PL rather than the Championship. If he wants to go then sell for the best price possible and buy a replacement. |

Even at Championship level he must have been earning good money, yet he imports drugs for a few grand; pure greed. I think that Chelmsford prison was the setting for the original “Porridge”. |
 | News Comment | Harness and Luongo Depart and Baggott Option Taken as Blues Announce Retained List at 17:34:25
The squad is basically sound. In terms of goalkeepers we have too many and either Walton or Muric should be sold and Slicker sent out on loan. The defence is well stocked. In midfield we need two quality signings. Up front we need a quality replacement for Delap. That is about it for now. I am confident that we will be promoted next season, despite some big clubs being in the Championship. However, we do need to be more frugal at the back. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-3 West Ham United - Match Report at 20:17:59
I’m afraid that the result sums up our season;; we couldn’t win at home and we couldn’t beat sides in the lower half of the table. In short, we weren’t good enough. I do not criticise KMc or Mark Ashton. They played their hand as well as they could. The numbers show that newly promoted teams are likely to be relegated in their first season. Therefore signing proven PL players is very difficult as they won’t want to take the risk. The Club had to resort to signing quality Championship players, players with relegated teams or loans of top flight players who had a risk (such as Cajuste or Phillips) attached to them. Personally, I think that we are well placed to bounce straight back up if we make a couple of good signings (central midfield will be critical). |
 | News Comment | Moyes: We're Among Clubs to Have Spoken to Delap at 13:44:56
Man Utd have a reputation for overpaying, so he might get a very fat deal for going there. However, they are not in Europe and if they have a bad start to next season then they may sack their manager. Newcastle have a very good manager, but Delap would be second fiddle to Isak. Chelsea is an unpredictable club and would demand a long commitment. Everton have a very good manager and are on the up, but can they compete on wages? |
 | News Comment | Delap Release Clause £30m at 13:40:00
The only people who KNOW what his contract says are those who have read it. Everything else is hearsay, speculation and tittle tattle. Please remember that we are dealing with reality not fantasy football. That means that players will only sign for us if they want to; we cannot force anyone to sign. As newly promoted clubs are very likely to be relegated that means that quality players would have been reluctant to sign so the Club had to be prepared to offer inducements. One might be a release clause. It is not a criticism of the Club or Mark Ashton, but what has to be done to get deals over the line. |
