 | News Comment | Edwards: The Ball's in Hackney's Court at 20:24:34
Some right impatient drama queens on here, but there are also many level headed fans on here too. I'm with the latter & hoping patience will be rewarded. I'd sooner he take his time & then commit whole heartedly than make a rash decision either way. Some on here act too impatiently & want to move on. To who?! I'm sure the staff have lots of other irons in the fire, they're not just twiddling their thumbs waiting impatiently. Some think they know everything but the staff know between them, 97% of what's going on. The final few % is in the players head & they're keeping it to themselves. Be patient, stop worrying, let the real experts do their jobs based on all the info we don't know. It'll be manic in there. They'll sort it at the pace it needs to be sorted & move on for now iif need be. |
 | News Comment | Town and Boro Agree Hackney Fee at 08:56:21
@Portman pie - Nonsense. Young was reportedly on £50k a week at Villa a number of years ago, but will be on nothing like that here. Re: Hackney - Edmundson & Carrick will have a word for us & convince him. He'll come. 1st vs 11th position according to the bookies. I know which one I'd go for. |
 | News Comment | Luongo Close to Joining Millwall at 14:45:45
As I understand it, one of the reasons many deals are left until late is that the asking price drops or can be negotiated better the closer to the end of the window, however there's also the obvious risks of another club biting first and less time to gel with the team. Balance and nerve. I'm sure the staff aren't just putting their feet up and waiting to snipe a bid at the last second like an Ebay auction on closing. This will be calculated and watched like a hawk. Lets keep our cool and see how it pans out. Haven't disappointed in previous seasons. |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm Young Signing at 21:22:35
I believe John Wark played for us at 39. No doubt not at the heights of fitness we have nowadays. Fabian Wilnis played at 37. Magilton at nearly 37. |
 | News Comment | Blues Beaten By Hammers in Behind Closed Doors Friendlies at 11:27:19
TBF ITFC2024, there's some poor sod that's spent the last 18 years complaining they've not been able to go to away matches because the regulars always get priority. You've made someone very happy that they finally get a turn. :-) |
 | News Comment | Veteran Ex-England International Young 'Likely' to Join Town at 12:39:18
Can see him working well on coaching staff, but player? Really? 40 years old? Taking up a squad position, or do over 40's not count? He must be super fit and sharp still if he does as we've just got rid of much relatively younger players we thought too old. |
 | News Comment | Brentford Make £35m Bid But Fail to Meet Terms Ahead of Release Clause Deadline at 13:37:31
I think the club have been much shrewder than many of you realise on this. They're letting this play out and learning from it, not encouraging a sale. Amongst other things, seeing Hutch's worth & figuring out how much we need to do to keep him happy, inc upping his wages. I expect we knew this would happen though and part of the plan. We wont sell. We don't need to. Only Hutch can change that if a "bigger" club comes for him an entice him away. Prem or not, Brentford aren't it though. Keep trusting in the plan and people that got us here. We continue to be in a much better place than any of us dreamt of. |
 | News Comment | Kipré: Mentor Morsy Told Me Only Great Things, It Was an Easy Choice at 19:03:32
Says something about Mosey that money can't buy. Loyalty. He might be fighting for his place because of his friend coming here, yet he's put club first & his own ambitions second. No matter what happens this season or next, I hope Morsey comes back to Ipswich in the future in some role like Matt Holland & Butch or coaching as a legend to help spur the club & players on. Top bloke. |
 | News Comment | Toluca Boss: No Concrete Ruiz Interest at 18:56:03
I suspect the "important club" comment was a lost in translation moment & probably means a top level club like the Prem. I'm sure he wants to play at the highest level. We all want what we want but doesn't mean we'll get it. |
 | News Comment | Halo Tease Town Shirt Sponsorship at 11:18:00
I can hear Beyonce's "Halo" blasting out on match day now. " ... I can feel your halo (halo) halo I can see your halo (halo) halo ..." |
 | News Comment | Town's Season to Start With Friday Trip to Birmingham at 14:06:01
Will be nice to get out of the blocks with solid wins, but I'm currently more concerned with the end of the season games than the start. Birmingham will be more worried than we are on day 1, but that all depends on the transfers and gelling in. QPR on 2nd May will be interesting depending on how April goes with those tougher games. All part of the fun of supporting Town, and better than week after week of losses. |
 | News Comment | Town Women and U21s to Play at Colchester at 12:39:24
One day the Womens team will take over Portman Road in the WSL and the Mens team when we're well established playing in Europe/ Prem will have a new 80k seater purpose built super stadium on the edge of town, with plenty of transport and parking options with easy and cheap access to clean loos and sensible priced food and drink. Oh, we can dream. |
 | News Comment | O'Shea: I'm Fully Committed to Town at the Moment at 14:38:22
Some right drama queens on here. He says "fully committed to Ipswich at the moment" but clarifies with "I want to get the club back into the Premier League..." so along with discussing next season with KM, that's at least a season with us before he asses his options. He's every intention of being here next season and hopefully help us get back to the Prem. Some things really don't need explaining, but then again a bag of peanuts has to have warning labels about containing nuts. Plenty of those on here. |
