Amazing work going on from all involved. Makes us all so proud & supportive of the dedication & hard work put in for the coming season & many decades following. Such a legacy that'll be remembered long after those that have been involved. Couldn't ask for a better bunch from top to bottom throughout the club.
Obviously disappointed for them all & wish them speedy returns. I'm assuming there were sensible reasons they didn't travel anyway just to watch, bond, support & get to know new teammates.
Great to see the standard of teams we're playing in pre-season increase so much. We're not quite at the level of playing big clubs like Leeds and Norwich yet, but these clubs will do for now. ;-)
Cambsrover14 - seems his debatable value is between €3.4 million and €7 million depending on sources. Almost 29yrs now. Where did you see or arrive at the £15-20M figure?
I'd say a step up from Hirst. Hirst a little unsure at times on the ball compared to Delaps confidence & strength. Couple of years old now but have a look at this.showreel -
Imagine what KMcK will do with this lad & work with people like Hutch, Chappers, Burns & Davis! Still more players to come too hopefully!
EADT now saying Szmodics rumours wide of the mark & it was him/ agents or club that approached ITFC & the player doesn't fit our current profile. Not sure why though.
Will be great to see how he & Leif click together & how it allows Leif the freedom to continue to do what he does going forward down the left. Feel much more confident with our defence than previous seasons now.
£6M? Bargain! Few years left in him yet. He knows this is his chance to shine in the PL, so see this working for all involved if it happens. While he's in Austria, maybe he can drop into Hull training & give Philogene a slap from us all & give him some smack talk on our behalf.
Villa fan I know said he activated a release clause to leave for only £5M to Hull & Villa & fans didn't want him to leave. He wasn't getting game time as much as he wanted. So we triggered a buy back for Villa to swoop back in to buy him & they've taken him back on a much better deal now he's proven himself at Hull. Seems Philogene has played us all, so not too unhappy if he does end up back at Villa for them to sleep on the bed they've made for themselves. Aspirations to leave their anyway when bigger clubs come for him, or so he wishes. Not sure that's the right fit for Ipswich anyway. Maybe a bullet dodged?
Must be very awkward for the pair, taking hospitality and training with a team they're openly looking to leave, but in limbo as to how it will pan out and whether it will happen to one or both. I'm guessing all clubs would prefer them to be training somewhere than not at all though. Thanks for the spanners in the works, Villa!
