Am I the only one who thinks Scott Parker is a fraud?
at 09:20 23 Apr 2025

But he's been promoted with 3 separate teams, who had just been relegated from the premiership.. teams, who had kept their premiership squad pretty much intact and teams that had parachute payments.. how is that harsh?? Surely with those teams, he should have got promoted?

Apologies, I just personally don't rate him as a manager... but he's one of these younger, fashionable managers.. however, the much maligned Sean Dyche is a better manager, but gets pelters, due to his style of football

Difference between Mckenna and Parker is the fact Parker never managed to take a team marooned in league 1 up to the premiership, having achieved back to back promotions.. so no, I wouldn't say the same about Mckenna, if he isn't able to establish us in the premiership..

Yes, he's achieved 3 promotions from the championship, with teams that had just been relegated from the premiership, with parachute payments and premiership quality squads, to then do sod all with them in the premiership

I know he thought he should have been playing games over Holy, but he would have thought that anyway, wouldn't he? Fact he wasn't any better than Holy told its own story

Who do you want (realistic names only) us to sign for next season then?
at 13:53 22 Apr 2025

I would really like us to go for Adam Armstrong, having been linked in previous windows.. would Southampton be inclined to keep him in the championship though?

I'd also try to sign Cajuste on a permanent.. I know the option to buy was if we stayed up.. but, i think we could afford him in the championship, with parachute payments, id he was willing to drop down a league..

I love Sammie and think he'll smash it in the championship again next season and will hopefully score the goals to take us back up..

One of the things I think we have got wrong this season was not playing him in his favoured 10 position, where he was championship top scorer last season.. playing him wide left was a waste and isn't his best position.. yes, his work rate provided better protection for Leif, but we lost that impact from him, just off the striker..

I personally didn't like Forest.. they were baiting us, about going down with Leicester and their feelings towards Tuchel for not picking Gibbs-White were pathetic..

Also worthwhile remembering that they breached FFP to sign a shed load of players in their first season up in the premiership and only then scraped survival... that shows the pure gulf between the premiership and championship.. the fact they had to breach FFP just to stay up that first season..

All of a sudden McKenna and the team seem to be getting real pelters from
at 07:07 21 Apr 2025

Think that is why the pundits have tended to be critical, if truth be told..

We were a lot more competitive earlier in the season, when we were more of an unknown quantity.. teams then worked as out..

Also, the likes of Kompany, Russell Martin and to an extent Mckenna all play a brand of football that makes them appealing to other teams in the premiership, or abroad.. there's definitely some self preservation in that regard... Martin stuck to his principles, as that's what got them promoted and he wasn't going to change.. also, see Mckenna

Kompany got his big move to Bayern, but that could be more to do with his stellar playing career and limited success in management

The media are a very fickle bunch... as you say, it's the same media that waxed lyrical about KMck last season and highlighted what a good job he'd done with us to secure back to back promotions and the fact we competed against teams with parachute payments..

some of their appraisals of us this season have been fair enough, based on the money spent this summer... but when you have Lineker reminding Murphy on MOTD that we had been promoted twice in 2 seasons and didn't have the same squad compared to the other 2 promoted teams and therefore had to spend money, that also says it all.. Murphy still replies with "I still expected them to have been more competitive" proves he paid lip service to what Lineker had just told him

If it isn't the top 6, they don't want to know... there is clear bias from some of these pundits or "experts" In the media...

Yesterday on Talksport they had that wheezing buffoon, Adrian Durham.. a Peterborough fan, who won't ever see his team in the premiership and Perry Groves, who used to play for Arsenal.. the media reaction to the Davis red card, which was deserved in my opinion, was OTT to say the least.. they claimed he set out to "do" Saka, which is nonsense..

You also had Sky sports, who thought it was a good idea to have Sutton on co-commentary, when he is so clearly anti Ipswich and that topped off a miserable day... saying that, Sky sports are a broadcaster that still employ Carragher, after he gobbed on a young girl..

Bad foul- but if thats a red

Don't be so daft! Take the blue tinted specs off and see that challenge for what it was! Christ alive, even Leif knew he'd screwed up, as he was apologising, when leaving the pitch..

It was stupid from Leif.. he gave the ref a decision to make and VAR wouldn't ever overturn that.. Yes Saka reacted like he'd been shot, but that's beside the point... Leif caught him on the achillies and wasn't anywhere near the ball

Yet, it was extremely daft of Davis to do that.. he wasn't anywhere near the ball and caught his achillies.. fact Saka made a meal of it is besides the point... Davis gave the ref a decision to make in doing what he did.. he didn't need to do it and his reaction when trudging off told you that.. he was apologising as he knew he'd screwed up..

Yet he was the one to always wax lyrical about Trent and the fact he was a local lad, who's dream had come true..

He's so biased over Liverpool, it's unreal.. I'd noticed that he hadn't been commentating on Liverpool games as much as he had been.. maybe sky took him off those games, as he wasn't impartial, at all

The thing with Gary Neville, is he is a Man United fan, but has no qualms with calling them out, or criticising them..

Carra is extremely loathed to do the same and there will always be an excuse..

I'm with Mullet on this one, I have to say.. I tell you what reeks, an established premiership club, which has a ground with a capacity of 11,379... it's not entitled.. it is frankly an embarrassment.. I was also under the impression that there was a minimum capacity clubs had to have in the premiership, if that's not the case then I stand corrected..

For comparisons sake, Blackpool in league 1, have a capacity of 16,616!!

Ultimately, yet again, we haven't taken any of our chances when on top... you say fine margins, that won't stop us from getting relegated..

There's only 1 real reason Ronaldo was down as taking the last penalty and that was purely about his ego... he wanted the glory and to be the one to take the decisive spot kick.. fact it didn't get that far and watching him go into meltdown was hilarious

Leif is a typical modern day fullback, better at going forward than defending... See Trent, or Pedro Porro at Spurs as another example..

The jump from league 1, to the premiership for him has been huge, same as everyone else.. he was at Leeds and had a spell on loan at Bournemouth and that's why we signed him when in league 1... what's noticeable this season is he isn't the same attacking outlet as he was in the championship.. he doesn't get as high, as, like in the Newcastle game, it's absolute suicide and then leaves the LCB exposed.. Townsend has done well, when he has covered and is perhaps better defensively.. Leif will end up being a premiership player, but will take time, which he still has plenty of

And when these people leak the wrong information it makes them look plain daft...

To be fair, I'm glad they were wrong, looking at the line up tonight, perhaps bar Phillips, it's the strongest it could be

It's mind boggling when you think about it... all these so called ITK people leaking information.. what do they realistically achieve by doing it?!

Ashton is right, when he said that all it does is actually harm us, as a club, from a sporting perspective
