Love it ... looked a real handful end of last season. Welcome to Portman Road. |
| News Comment | Town Interview Shearer at 20:01:07
Alan Shearer was a fantastic striker - no question. However, this alone does not make a good manager. Alan is not the right candidate for a club fighting relagation at the foot of the championship! This would be a very similar appointment to Roy Keane - but with less experience. Mr Evans/Mr Clegg - Ipswich need a manager with a current proven track record (not someone who has been out of the game for a long time). |
| News Comment | Town Target Curbishley at 09:10:11
NOT a good choice for Ipswich. Been out of the game a while (same as Paul Jewell) - was a 'steady' manager but never really thrilled. I think there are other candidates that could do a better job. |
| News Comment | Jewell: Henderson Signing Will Add Competition at 09:37:25
I cannot understand this - what message does that say to Loach? Marcus Evans - You seriously need to consider this strategy of short term loans. Loan players are not loyal to Ipswich Town (even if you are paying their wages). In addition, if they do help us climb the table (which I hope they do) - you are back to the same squad that is 2nd from bottom in 3 months time. We need permenant quality signings - not loan players who cannot get into another clubs squad. |
| News Comment | Keeper Henderson Set to Become Eighth Loan at 18:28:02
Remember Joe Royal and George Burley's approach .... if you outscore the opposition it does not matter how many you concede!! A keeper is not going to score you goals to win matches!!! We have 8 loans, more midfielders than needed and a strike force not capable of putting the ball in the net (not enough anyway)!! Serious investment in quality strikers needed. |
| News Comment | Keeper Henderson Set to Become Eighth Loan at 18:22:10
A totally unnecessary signing by Paul Jewell. Norwich were relegated partly due to the number of loan signings - and Ipswich are heading the same way. Players on short-term loan deals have no loyality to ITFC and are not going to care if we are losing a game! We need permenant signings with wage relegation clauses in their contracts to make sure they fight for their place and to win matches. I wonder if the 3 month loan deals are only being signed up to so that a new manager can have some time in the new transfer window!? |
| News Comment | Jewell: Better Side But Lacked Cutting Edge at 12:54:39
It seems to me that PJ does not have a clue! 1st it was defensive errors costing us a win, now it is "no cutting edge". The excuses are get a bit tiresome. We have a midfield, the strongest combination looking like loan signings, and a strike force that cannot put the ball in the back of the net!! Now at the lower end of the table - needs some drastic changes. |
| News Comment | Deal for Posh Pair Falls Through at 10:01:24
When Marcus took over at this club - it was all about ambition for the Premier League. I have not seen any so far this season - i.e. Blackpool and Carlisle. Who have we signed this season that actually demonstrates ambition to be a premier league team? With regard to the wage structure - I cannot believe that Peterborough pay out more that us (I could be proven wrong) so our failure to close these deals is even more fustrating. You have to invest in a club, buying decent players if you want to get promoted. Not rely on the same personnell that failed the previous two years. |
| News Comment | Bullard Set for Exit at 14:31:39
We should be converting Jimmy to a coach!! He could have a big impact. He is undoubtly a good footballer - just a shame it did not work out over last season. Good luck!! His free kicks and corners have been the best we have had for years, but his legs cannot hold for 90 minutes. |
| News Comment | Town Target Kuszczak Joins Brighton at 22:47:06
Seriously Brighton .... what is wrong with this club. Failure to land yet another player. I seriously question if Mr Clegg is working hard enough to get these deals done! Drags his feet - so the player signs elsewhere. |
| News Comment | Jewell: Championship Even Tougher Next Season at 21:08:50
Tough season .. and no decent recognised signings! End of last season PJ said he needed new defenders and a new keeper (as a priority) - none signed as yet (lets hope!). |

| News Comment | 50% Off for Rearranged Game at 08:33:53
A 50% discount a joke. I hope the fans stay away from the re-arranged game in protest. Paying to see 37 minutes and then forced to pay again is just plain greed from the club. Mr Clegg / Mr Evans - you have made it clear that it was not the clubs fault that the game was called off - but it is not the FANS fault either, yet you seem intent on grabbing as much money from them as possible!!! Disgraceful. |
| News Comment | Delaney: I\'d Love to Stay But I\'ve Had No Contract Offer at 10:47:37
Do we really need all this contract distraction when we are trying to secure our place in the Championship? Mr Clegg you need to resolve this. We need to get this decided one way or another. Either sign up the players or clearly tell the players that they will need to find a new contract in the summer. Although Delaney states that he is not really worried about it "...At my age, 29, you have to be thinking about security, but we'll wait and see, I'm not really panicked about it.” - he obviously is! Come on Ipswich - no other club has this level of problem. |
