I am not so sure they are good enough to do that at the moment, I watched some of the Coventry game, it was massive fluke to get any kind of result. They look genuinely awful, weak in CM and vulnerable down the wings. Sargent obviously has the ability to stick one away if he gets a chance but this game should be coming at exactly the right time for us, especially after a couple more games under our belt. No excuses! |

I’ve commented on plenty of threads about our play yesterday, I even started one being critical of our center backs so spare me the BS. It was an observation on a different element of the game and officiating in general, I even said he got the big calls correct, stop trolling and grow up. [Post edited 22 Sep 2:14]

You’re on the the better common sense ones (sometimes). |

Some of us mentioned their recruitment in late July and got laughed at! We really did give teams the blue print to what not to do! |

That’s cute from a side that conceded two goals at home in injury time the other week. Our argument will surely be the pitch was unplayable long before the ref called it off. The way I see it - All hell would let loose if they just gave them 3 points - We won’t play 10 minutes - You can’t replicate fitness personnel and game state etc A bit harsh on Blackburn but see you in late October. |

He was consistently stopping the game for non fouls yes. |

I’m usually the opposite, I can’t stand blaming refs for losing games. There’s been some ridiculous desperate threads on here over the years when we needed to be looking at ourselves. Swear there was a 5 pager about that Brentford corner where people wouldn’t let it go, didn’t know the laws of the game and wouldn’t call out our defending either. It was more job as observation on yesterday and I do think we got the worse of it. As I noted Philogene got awarded a couple for a very minimal contact as well so you’re right about a few cheap ones. It’s refs like this that annoy me the most. If you get one big call wrong the other team will lose it on you but that’s just a potentially a tough one off call you have to make in real time. It’s more style and almost conscious effort to continuously stop the game that got to me yesterday. This type of officiating ruins any flow. Main character syndrome. [Post edited 21 Sep 14:26]

I would say it’s a ridiculously hard job, especially with the level fitness of these players have these days and the obvious cheating some teams engage in. However, to me it appears that the European standard is better from what I’ve seen. |

Again it wasn’t the game changing decisions I had a problem with, more the first half, he was just ruining any attempt at an already uphill battle we were having to try and engage in a game of football. |

Sometimes on here people exaggerate but I could not get over that show yesterday, he was a joke. |

lol, fair from you but yesterday I hit my limit and as we didn’t technically lose I couldn’t hold it in. Shocking! |

I’ve been fairly vocal about controlling what you can control and stop moaning when we lose about officials. However, I thought yesterday, he was one of the worst I’ve ever seen, giving fouls that were not free kicks which very much encouraged Cantwell to play his “style” even more. Not sure Hirsts booking was a free kick and that’s not being a 90s kid, it was just a decent tackle wasn’t it? He gave a foul against Matisuwa looking right at it when there was basically no contact. Could not wait to flash the cards. I’m sure we got the odd one for minimal contact on Philogene as well but overall we got the worst of it. Would have to see the Pen again. Greaves was a clear red so not annoyed with that just the general way we went about the game. I give credit for some refs at least trying to allow the game to flow even if they make some errors but this guy was an utter joke. Even though Sheffield United at home was and easy game to referee you could tell that guy had actually played professional football, he was decent. Yesterday not so much. |

Some people will be “back” at work but not really because it’s still the Christmas season. The pubs were packed all afternoon before Chelsea last year and the majority of the population that has an office type job is probably not going to back in the actual office. Loads are off until January etc etc. |

Nothing wrong with that in the moment! But what’s this about?! “Thanks Gamechanger, Ashton, McKenna, Players and Fans - you're all magnificent. COYB!” A bit of a weird post after being 1-0 down to Blackburn after 80 minutes. Seems desperate to praise up the afternoon, not an ideal day! [Post edited 21 Sep 3:02]

We shouldn’t be celebrating a game getting called off to a crappy team like Blackburn. Fair play for the squad and staff all going over to thank the supporters but we’d be calling anyone else incredible tinpot for celebrating it. The fans taking the piss out of the situation is fairly funny but a weird over the top OP here. |
