I’ve just been redirected to the BT site now so it does appear to be an issue still.

The locking screen and scam site has been a while. The giant ads only started happening again yesterday I think?

Anyone else having issues with this site on iPhone?

If it’s not the huge advertisements taking over the entire screen, it’s zooming in and locking in that position and the only way to resolve is to refresh multiple times. And then if you leave it on this site for too long it tends to divert to some dodgy scam site.

There’s some proper sh*te written on this forum but that post is right up.

Of course we were always a stepping stone and still are. This is a guy that wants to manage the very best players in the world so he wasn’t dropping down to League One to remain there his entire life.

It’s a credit to the club we were able to keep him despite the interest from Palace and Brighton/Chelsea previously.

Who will Kieran face in the derby next year?

Depends which dugout he’ll be in I suppose.

Not convinced he’ll still be here come August.

Yep.

Think some people underestimate the ambition of the club. They won’t be looking to just break even on high potential assets, we signed them to ensure the squad keeps improving.

Depends what his….
at 11:54 22 Apr 2025

There is that but then you still have the players decision too.

He seems quite grounded and surely a year starting week in week out in the Championship is far better for his development than being a sub for one of those sides mentioned.

Summerville and Rutter are good examples.

Which contracted players could leave in the summer on top of Delap?
at 10:21 22 Apr 2025

I’d be surprised if he moved on.

We’ll want more than what we paid for him and I can’t see many prem clubs paying £30m for him just yet. I think he’d be better off getting a full season in the champ and either get us promoted or get a decent move next summer when he’ll likely be more ready for the prem.

Important to remember he’s only 21 so plenty of time on his hands.

I imagine it’ll also be extremely difficult to strengthen in those forward areas given our current numbers.

Agreed.

Unless I’m mistaken we wore it in our first three away games against City, Wimbledon and Brighton.

Haven’t worn it since from memory.

People have read way too much into this and may look a little silly in the summer.

Was a bit of a pointless question with a pointless answer. Of course he’s going to be committed here whether we’re in the championship or premier league. Right up until the moment he gets an offer from higher up and choose to progress his career.

Delap relegation release clause
at 20:58 11 Apr 2025

I’m normally quite critical of young footballers seeking moves too soon when they’re probably better of playing more games in the league below.

However in this instance I think it would be an absolute waste of talent if he were to spend next season in the championship. He’s every bit a premier league footballer and should be eyeing up an England call up next year.

Does the delap fee / margin mean we’ll be forced into other sales?
at 09:25 10 Apr 2025

While obviously spending a hefty amount in transfer fees, we sensibly kept our wage budget down which undoubtedly limited us last summer but means we’re in quite a healthy position despite being relegated.

I imagine if the right offers come in we may look to offload 2-4 players but I’m pretty confident we’ll be looking to strengthen the squad once again.

Ultimately points wise we were no where near it in the end but given the context of our starting position, I don’t think we were actually that far off.

The difference next time (should we go up next year) is that we will be in a position to spend £100-£150m on 3-4 prem quality players instead of having to bring in numbers to boost the squad. On top of that, the players we’ve had this season should in theory be better the next time we get there.

I’ve certainly missed the midweek fixtures.

And going to PR thinking we might actually win.

I do wonder how many of those ‘entitled’ fans were with us in League one or just new fans jumping on our success and expecting the same results in the prem.

I’d like to think most of our core fan base understands the challenge this year and that relegation was and still is a likely possibility, given our rise in such a short period of time.

No great insights yet so many fans don’t seem to be aware of it.

My favourite one is when a player or manager moans about injuries caused by a number of games and fans argue they should be able to play every day of the week due the money they’re earning. As if money magically alters how the human body works.

A good example of the loyalty is even some of our own fans saying we shouldn’t sign Jaden because he had the chance in the summer and he chose Villa. We don’t know if he even had a choice (believe there may have been a pre-contract agreement when initially sold to Hull) and even if he did choose, who is picking us over Champions League Villa?

See also Flynn Downes wanting to leave us when we were headed for League Two and he sought a move to progress his career. Still some numbskulls that give him grief for that.

VAR errors according to the Premier League
at 13:57 5 Feb 2025

That’s a good point.

I don’t mind there being a high bar set for VAR and can kind of see what they’re trying to achieve, even in a situation where they think chaplins probably was a penalty but not enough for VAR to get involved. But if that is the case, then VAR was definitely wrong to get involved in the Clarke pen against Everton.
