Birmingham away says Friday 8th August against it in fairness. However I’ve clicked on Birmingham’s fixtures and they’re due to play all 23 home games the same day. |

If KM goes Brentford then surely Justin Cochrane would be looking elsewhere? Edit: Nevermind, just seen your other thread. [Post edited 10 Jun 10:44]

It’s a guess. He’s rejected a new contract at Chelsea in search of first team football. Edit: link attached [Post edited 10 Jun 8:15]

Suppose it depends on your definition of loyal. He was interested enough that he went for talks and clearly after weighing up the options decided staying put was best. I wouldn’t describe that as loyal but equally wouldn’t say there’s anything wrong with it either. I’d agree with Arnie that there’s no loyalty in football. If the offer was the right move for his career, he would have taken it. Must admit at the time I was surprised and almost disappointed that he considered Palace & Brighton as a big enough step up to progress his career. However after seeing the difference between a team like us and the other 17 prem clubs this year, I totally understand it and do worry about the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth and Fulham. |

Spending £50m on a player you would expect to get at least £20-£30m back later down the line. You could easily pay the £10m release clause, give him a 5 year contract and sack him 6 months in. That’s why clubs aren’t keen to pay such big fees. |

Am I the only one that isn’t that bothered about which player(s) leave? As long as McKenna stays I’m confident he gets both our current squad or a renewed version of our squad up. |

If we see him play for us next season then it means we’ve failed in securing our targets. Thats not to say he’s a bad player and wouldn’t do a job but the club are aiming much higher than this. We’ll be looking at players who are capable of performing in the Prem. |

Surprised we didn’t use the option and try to get a small fee for him. |

Christ alive get over it. The fact is there were a lot of fans on here 9-10 months ago questioning if we’d overpaid for him. Coincidentally it seems to be the same people now moaning he’s worth much more and it was poor business. If the release clause was the only way of signing him and we’ve still made a profit then it’s not bad business at all. I’d imagine the only people laughing are those who dont understand how football works. |

Depends if they play in 2000 environment or 2024. Each era’s pitch, ball quality, ref standards with what’s considered a foul etc all make a difference. Having said that I would lean to say 2024 team would still likely beat 2000 in that era with the fitness and intensity of today’s game. |

You mean like loaning him to West Ham, Enciso to us and Buonanotte to Leicester this season? It would be in both parties interests for him to play Premier League football next season. |

Despite his form I’d be surprised if he dropped down a division. He would still be a very good loan signing for one of the promoted teams. |

This season has made me question whether KM could/should have tried a midfield three. There’s not many teams who actually play with a double pivot in the prem. Off the top of my head I think Chelsea, Utd, Spurs, Bournemouth and Leicester play it. There’s no coincidence we picked up a reasonable amount of points or at least looked quite competitive against those teams. I guess it’s difficult to do when the squad is built for the AM/10 positions but perhaps it’s one of the lessons learned and we may see a shift this summer? |

I hope we keep him. He may not have the highest market value or be the best player but my god he’s such a tidy and enjoyable player to watch. |
