Clegg: Players in Contract Talks
at 08:54:10

I have to agree with itfc1981. I really cannot think of any player who we have signed since the new owner took over (and we have signed many players as has been well documented) who I can honestly say "what a great player".
Mr Keane spent an awful lot of money in particular and bought rubbish. Last summer PJ (again he has admitted his errors) bought (or signed on a free) rubbish, some of whom departed mid-season.
What makes you think our recent signings have been great Scowie?

Robson Told Me All About Town
at 10:26:09

He could say:

"Ipswich are a small club with no ambition, the stadium is rubbish and so are the whinging fans. That's all I know about the club. I'm just here for the money."

but that's unlikey to be popular with his new fanbase!!!!

New players always say these things. Proof is when you start scoring goals.

You guys who are moaning about our wage structure should read this if you haven't already. It will probably mean we will be hit by it even with our structure.

Icelandic Defender Latest Link

In my humble opinion, to follow up on @James1989 - I think we need to be looking at lower league players. They are hungrier for success and we should be looking at building a team that will mostly be able to play together in future years (prem) with a few more additions as and when. Look at Norwich. Most of us had not heard of their team but they had a great team spirit and belief that got them promoted - oh and a good manager. Just a point though.

Lavery Linked With Spurs
at 12:39:55

Hollywood, you have half a point there but if you watched his games in the world cup he didn't actually do anything extraordinary. His passes were all either 5 yrds or just hoofed away and was out of position most of the time. His major contribution was to concede a penalty with some very naive defending.

I actually believe we need to look at youngsters but they have to be able to cope with this division. Look at Norwich. I for one had not herd of many of their tam before the season started and look at them now. Yes, the manager helped enormously (and ours didn't) but they reminded me of our side in 2000. Great team spirit, never say die attitude and good footballing side. Can't say that about us can you?

I have been a season ticket holder for over 20 years and to see the state of our club at the moment distresses me. I actually do not know what the answer is. Hopefully PJ can sort the mess we are in.

Rant over!

Lavery Linked With Spurs

brian_a_mul............... Do you really think Eastman, Brown and Smith are our future? Smith can't even defend in the lower leagues, Eastman looks slow and cumbersome and can only hoof the ball, and Brown is totally lightweight as is Murray really. I may well have to eat my words, but seriously doubt it.

Bullard Set for Debut as Jewell Returns to Derby

Best team:
Fulop, Peters, McAuley, Delaney, O'Connor, Hyam, Norris, Bullard, Edwards, Priskin, Martin in a 4-1-2-3 formation with Hyam as holding midfielder playing behind Bullard & Norris. Allows us to change from 3 up front to 1. Both Martin and Edwards are good at traking back if needed
Bench; Wickham, Civelli, Leadbitter, Smith, Kennedy, Scotland and Keeper

Easy this management business!

Jewell: Bullard Gives Us Something Different
at 12:50:09

If you play him in the right formation, with maybe a holding midfielder (Hyam) behind I don't think age will be an issue.

All we need now (assuming we get Austin and St Ledger) is a goalkeeper (who can catch a cross) and a right back. I hope that young Shane O'Conner can be given another chance at left back.
