Great and welcome upgrades for sure..! Will be very nice to see PR finally get the upgrades and TLC it so much deserves. Unfortunate that the pitch cannot be done this summer but the information provided to us from Mr Ashton was clear as to the reasons why and the plans and changes that need to be put in place first...
The one thing that did catch my attention was that 'they will continue with the existing PA system'. In my opinion the system is still awful in a few sections of the ground and was an item that was at the very top of their list to address. I am hoping that if it will be the same system, but maybe with replacement and repositioned speakers etc. It definitely needs further attention in the terraces and the concourses. |

Feel free not to aplaud him, but there is no reason to boo. He put a shift in for this club while he was here and did show passion for the shirt...

I was there tonight... So will give you a run down of what i thought..
I thought Drury shone in the middle of the park. Looked like a real creator and really got the team passing through the middle. After a first half of hoofing, he really helped get the ball down and ping it around.
Carlos Edwards is not a left back, end of! Also, even when he moved onto the wing, he made himself lots of space, but against this sort of opposition, still did nowhere near enough with the final ball... Saw sooo much of it, but did nothing...
Martin looked like he had a spliff before coming out... Wandering around and generaly thinking he was superman. Yes he had a couple of shots and a couple of crosses, but did nowhere near enough to suggest to me he is good team player.
Chops and scotland look like being a very good pairing. They seem to know where each other are and seem to have a bit of chemistry which is a good sign. One off the other with intricate passes. Could prove to be a great combination!
Over all, it was a slightly disappointing display. Not enough football in the middle of the park, but did improve with the introduction of Drury. I think the negatives out weighed the positives, BUT its still early days and there is a little way to go yet.
Plus, iv got to mention that Cambridge did defend very well and made it hard for us to play further up the field.

I dont blame Keane, or any of the players that he brought in, Clegg and Evans = 2 non football people. They appointed Keane as a name for the ME brand and no other reason than that... Yes, sacking Keane was the right thing to do (not soon enough in my opinion) but where do we go from here? We clearly have people in charge of our club who know nothing about football, so what will the outcome be.. Whether it is a decent manager or not, i doubt they will be given much in the way of funds as Keane spent so much, which means that he will be lumbered with bunch of cart-horses that Keane brought in... Will they be given time to give the squad a much needed reshape, or will they be judged over 6 months and sacked??
I think we are on a rocky slope and the decision needs to be made VERY carefully. I hope they have learned their lessons from Keanes appointment 'You cant appoint someone to be a name for your brand, football is more than that'.
In my opinion i think the best option would be to appoint someone young, with new ideas and let them get this club started again, even if it means dropping into league 1 to do it.... |
