Gatwick? Don't be silly. You'd park at Stansted or Southend if you want to go to Colchester. [Post edited 29 Jul 13:33]

One real advantage of everyone having a camera on hand is that you can collect evidence for these sorts of events and I bet it does stop some attacks occurring. However you still need at least some people to act and not just be passive bystanders. |
 | Forum Reply | If we get Hackney our midfield is stronger than last season at 11:48 29 Jul 2025
He's clearly a better player with a massively higher ceiling. Stronger, faster, better on the ball, better shot and finishing, a very clever player too. My one big criticism of him (and I think a pretty universal one on here) is he had a habit of being selfish on those rare occasions when he actually did have support around him. Sticks out a lot more when we scored so few goals last year. Can't mean that we forget him scoring 1/3 of our goals still! |

If there is a witness or CCTV that indicates it was him I'm pretty sure it should be an automatic recall. |

It's slightly tangential from the Tommy Robinson bit, but why does no-one actually pay much attention to the guy out cold? I understand it's a potential confrontation and you need to be focused for the potential threat of violence, but one of the staff should prioritise going to the injured person. Bearing in mind the person required CPR onsite, every second counts. |
 | Forum Reply | I think I might have done a "woke" thing today at 14:44 28 Jul 2025
When the car dealership is paid to funnel consumers onto worse deals and hides that relationship from the consumer. Just like PPI, it's hard to feel bad for finance companies trying to pull the wool over people and getting caught out. Also a reminder to anyone reading that you should NEVER use any of those advertised firms. Just look at the relevent page on Money Saving Expert. There is a form to download and send to the finance companies for free and it takes a few minutes. [Post edited 28 Jul 14:45]

 | Forum Reply | The Diss protests were organised by the English Defence League at 11:30 27 Jul 2025
Media framing is huge. There were tens of thousands of peaceful protestors in London today and most satellite protests outnumbered the EDL ones, but most won't even know they occured.* Meanwhile we have members of parliament Rupert Lowe and James McMurdock (formerly of reform, but not removed because of their political views) publicly supporting forced deportation of legal citizens for net negative migration. Bear in mind that's 40% of the MPs who were elected for Reform. Remember when everyone slammed the BNP and Nick Griffin? Well now we elect people further to the right than him and we talk about legitimate concerns... *It was trans rights. |
 | Forum Reply | How much will Omari be missed at 20:21 25 Jul 2025
I think we'd still miss Omari because he's better than all 6 of those. However I think we can cope without him if we must. Another plus is the amount of interchangeability. Not just that we have 2 left, 2 right and 2 central options, but arguably 3-4 good options for each position. Oh and you even forgot Burns still to come back as well! |

But an entirely predictable one, entirely of the government's own making. It's very easy mental gymnastics to justify police taking this action. It only needs to "arouse reasonable suspicion that an individual is a supporter of a proscribed organisation". Here we have a situation where people go out and protest in favour of the exact same thing as that proscribed group, saying the same things. Is it unreasonable to think that protesters, protesting the same thing might support each other? They clearly support the same goals as the 'terrorists'. Is that enough? Clearly some police do. |
 | Forum Reply | “Your party” by Corbyn x Sultana anyone going to vote for them? at 17:09 25 Jul 2025
Obviously it's not impossible and hey, an election is still years away. Who knows all the twists and turns until then. I think my concern would be that rather than growing their vote shares, a pact just makes things more efficient electorally. If you can keep that parochial rural green vote in the tent, then perhaps they can grow towards the higher numbers though as you're bringing demographics that the new party is unlikely to win on their own. |
 | Forum Reply | “Your party” by Corbyn x Sultana anyone going to vote for them? at 14:24 25 Jul 2025
30% seems optimistic to me. Labour and Greens combined are currently polling at 30-35%. I'm not sure that this new part can take 80% of the current labour party vote with them, because I don't suppose they'll be getting many reform or Tory votes switching. |

By the same token, the Israeli government could stop starving civilians, but they don't want to. |
 | Forum Reply | Man-made starvation at 11:47 24 Jul 2025
Why does it matter? "The other guy started it" is not a justification for genocide. Should Hamas free the hostages? Yes, of course. Oddly enough though, the same is true for not deliberately starving a civilian population! |
