 | News Comment | Tuanzebe and Burgess Join Lengthy Injury List at 02:51:05
At least Hurst and Delap are fit. Until Ensico is back I would like to see Hurst tried in the No 10 role. It would give us more punch up the middle and we keep Broadhead starting on the left. Obviously Omari starting on the right when he comes back but maybe Johnson starts until then. Just feel that we need more muscle up front.......coyb |
 | News Comment | Manchester United 3-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 22:47:01
The player that I would like to see tried at 10 (while Delap is still here) is Hurst. He would provide more punch to our attack and keep defenders busy and could set up Delap. Nothing to lose if we tried him through to the end of the season...... |
 | Blog Comment | Premier League Preview: Manchester United at 21:28:54
I think that we have a bit more than a starters chance. As for the front four, I would like to see Hurst tried in the No 10 role. He has the skill base for it and would be a real handful for defenders with Delap. Just a thought, what do others think....? |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-0 Chelsea - Match Report at 22:26:40
Well a desperately needed result. Hopefully KMcK has now got his most effective structure and strategy for the defense. A key aspect going forward is to ensure that we do not gift the opposition goals through bad mistakes so I was very happy with Walton's performance. I also was pleased to hear of the occasional long clearance. Maybe we will get a bit more 'rub of the green' in the second half of the season...... |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Need to Show the Right Mentality at Arsenal at 01:27:16
To me a 4-4-2 going forward after the Arsenal game and when Hirst is available could look like: Walton Johnson O'Shea Burgess/Greaves Davis Hutchinson Morsy Phillips/Cajuste Broadhead Delap Hirst Bench: Muric Burgess/Greaves, Townsend Luongo Chaplin Smodicz Al Hamadi/Burns January additions to be considered |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Need to Show the Right Mentality at Arsenal at 01:20:03
As well as the above I also think a 4-4-2 would give us more solidity than our usual structure of 4-2-3-1. When Hirst comes back I would like to see us playing both him and Delap up front. Would give us greater physicality and a better outlet than we had last week. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Need to Show the Right Mentality at Arsenal at 01:08:16
I think that with Arsenal and a few of the other top teams we are likely to get in to trouble if we just play two in midfield. In games where our midfield is overrun we find ourselves under too much pressure. I would like to see the following lineup: Walton Johnson O'Shea Burgess/Greaves Davis Cajuste Phillips Taylor Hutchinson Delap Broadhead Bench : Muric, Burgess or Greaves, Townsend, Luongo, Smodicz, Clarke, Chaplin I feel that lineup is more solid than last week and with Delap poses a better threat going forward. If Phillips is not fully fit I would have him play just the first half and Luongo the second. |
 | News Comment | Cajuste: Incredibly Frustrating at 21:28:31
I hope that Chaplin gets an extended run at No. 10. Omari still seems better suited to the right wing where he has more room to work his magic. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Were Really Confident in Leif at 21:49:43
Very sensible comments as usual. Leif has time on his side and if it takes him a bit longer then he will benefit from the experience and development he gets in the meantime. Lets hope we can achieve our first win soon and get that monkey off our back. It will be interesting to see the team that Kieran puts out this weekend, especially the midfield ... coyb |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-2 Everton - Highlights at 01:54:09
Lack of availability of the highlights in NZ yet again. In recent weeks I have gone to the website(s) of our opposing teams and been very pleasantly surprised with the quality of their highlight packages. Having been on TWTD since about 1995 I must say that overall I have really enjoyed the website but am surprised that there has not been any explanation as to why the highlights package is not available in NZ. |
 | News Comment | Dyche: Professional Performance at 01:48:25
Very disappointing, although Everton looked a bit better than I thought that they might be. I think that we need to see Omari taking over from Wes, Connor starting at No 10 and either Smodicz or Broadhead on the left. We also need to consider a 3 man midfield when we start to get overrun. At the back Greaves and Axel are big losses but we could give Harry Clarke a start at right back over the next couple of weeks. In the middle am ok with Burgess on the left but not so happy with Woolfie and the new Irish guy but it would have to be one of them to start. Was thinking about Muric being replaced but he made a couple of good one on one saves and could not be faulted for either goal. Anyway onwards and hopefully upwards .... coyb |

Good to see him doing well. Lets hope that he continues to develop, he is certainly at the right club....coyb |
 | News Comment | Southampton 1-1 Ipswich Town - Highlights at 00:22:53
Great to see that we in NZ can again see these highlights and even better they are longer than previous ones. Thank you to whoever has made these available to us. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Fulham - Highlights at 03:46:48
Yes the block is very disappointing given that most of us like to access all our Town information on here. I now go to the opponent's sites and You Tube. A sad day when I have to do that having been on this site from the time that it started. Can Phil provide some information on what has led to the block? |
 | News Comment | Clarke: Young Town Squad Could Have No-Fear Factor at 03:34:26
Quite apart from his footballing ability I like the sound of his comments. Nice and positive and when you look at our attacking players we are developing quite a roster of players at good ages. Just need another striker who regularly finds the net. |
 | News Comment | O'Shea: A Move I Couldn't Turn Down at 03:26:21
For my money he looks to be a good acquisition. Good experience, age, played with Muric and knows several players from the Republic of Ireland set up. His signing helps to give us some depth at the back. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Loan Moves Great Opportunities For Humphreys and Baggott at 00:08:23
I hope that the two of them have really great seasons and come back stronger. They both have the scope to be long term prospects here given their ages and abilities. I also liked KMcK acknowledging the contributions of Jackson, Ball and Keogh. |
