Lambert: £10m-Rated Woolfenden Still Just as Laid-Back
at 00:05:33

I had initially thought 10m with a decent sell on 30% but now I am not so sure. The money in the Prem is now ludicrous. If Webster was worth 25m (?) then a good season in the Championship must see Woolfy above 10m but of course if we get promoted we would presumably want to hold him to have a go at a move up to the Prem. A very difficult one this but lets see where we are at the end of the season..... coyb

HMRC to Retract Winding-Up Petition
at 23:48:41

The bureaucrats there sound as dumb as the ones we have here. Perhaps withdrawing against all three meant that someone would be late for their prolonged tea break or that they lost concentration after processing two and found a third one too much to cope with in one day......

Lambert: No New Interest, No Movement on Bart and Millwall
at 23:44:04

Given that Milwall have now had the opportunity to have a good look at Bart
I think that we should wait until the end of the season and then see if there is any competition for him. I would place 2m on his head and see what offers there are. If necessary we could come down a bit. If, hopefully, we are back in the Championship next season and we cannot get an acceptable bid then we get him back, particularly given the opportunity he has had to look at who we will be up against then......

Lambert: Good Point But We Should Have Had a Penalty
at 07:58:32

PL's comments suggest that he might be seeing the benefit of consistent selections. Suspect that Huws might get a rest on Saturday to keep the risk of repetitive injury down but overall it is all sounding positive again, just a pity we did not get the penalty .... roll on Saturday and better weather up north.....

Lambert: Absolutely No Chance Whatsoever Woolfenden Will Leave for £3m
at 07:49:21

Finally we have a manager who can fathom the real value of one of our top assets and is prepared to laugh off ridiculous offers. Given Woolfy's current level of ability, his age, plus his potential for further development any conversation should start at 10m given the resources available in the Premier League and should include at least a 30% sell on clause. This lad is destined for the very top, but not quite yet, If we want to hold him promotion this season is vital..... coyb......

Garbutt: This is a Massive Game For Us
at 03:33:39

Coming into the straight there are many chances fanned out across the track. We need settled line up to boost cohesion and maximise opportunities. If PL keeps the current line up going with only 1 or 2 changes each week we have the quality to take the race out but does PL have the stamina .........

Ipswich Town 4-1 Accrington Stanley - Match Report
at 00:06:54

Downes and Huws together should be the future midfield two with Skuse only stepping if if either are injured or as a centre back. I dont believe scoring 4 today was an accident as having Judge in front of Downes and Huws means we have three of our best players in their best positions and it is a combination most teams will struggle to contain in this league. Good to hear Edwards got going today and once Kane Vincent-Young is back this line-up should see us through to the top two positions. Hopefully Paul has seen the light and there is minimal tinkering from now on. Only other change would be Holy in goal.... coyb.......

Millwall Facing Competition From Cardiff and Blackburn for Bialkowski
at 21:36:17

Perhaps one day we will see him back as goalkeeper coach if he maintains his desire to retire in this area. For now it is great for him to be playing in the Championship (or perhaps with a bit of luck higher) and for us to get a decent fee for him and for his wages to be used towards getting a couple of decent players in. I wish him the very best of luck for the future he deserves that on the strength of what he did for us.......

Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Ipswich Town- Match Report

One further thought is the question of whether we could get Cameron-Vickers back in the January window. A back three of him, Woolfenden and Wilson with Holy back in goal would surely result in a less generous approach to our opponents.

Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Ipswich Town- Match Report
at 00:37:17

While most of the key stats substantially favoured us it is disappointing that we could not manage to get a second goal. While a reasonable result, but only from the fact that Wycombe are top of the table, we need to string together a run of 3 or so straight wins to get out of the pack of teams we are now in following the form slump over the past month or two. It seems that we have lost momentum following too much rotation resulting in reduced cohesion and the postponement of games that we had the momentum and form to win. I liked the look of the team selected for today with my only change being Holy in and Vincent-Young if he was available. I hope that this team but with Holy in goal is given a good run of games and I think we will see results improve ..... coyb

Town Out to End Another Winless Run at Lincoln
at 01:48:05

Holy
Woolfie, Chambers, Wilson
Dobra, Downes, Huws, Judge, Garbutt
Jackson , Norwood

Bench: Norris, Donacien, Kenlock, Nolan, Dozell, Keane, Sears

If possible would like to see Freddie given a good 30 minute run.
Having Dobra and Garbut on the flanks would inject some life.

Town Linked With Ross County Defender

Steve - I suspect that it will be Toto and/or Chambo that move on at the end of the season or January if an acceptable bid is received for either of them.
Looking ahead I think that the re-acquisition of Tommy Smith would be a smart move if he is fit. That would give us him, Woolfie and Wilson looking ahead with one other left-sided cb to be acquired as back-up for Tommy.

A return for Tommy Smith would give us the quality we need. He is still at an age where he has several good years ahead of him and would give us him (left cb), Woolfie, Wilson and Chambo (until the end of this season). Looking at things now and ahead I think that Toto is too much of a risk in important games sadly.
Freddie returning will give us some punch up front if he is played as a specialist striker. I am still optimistic that we can win this league but do need PL to reduce the amount of "rotation"..........

Lambert: Worst Performance in My Time Here

Lambert on Smith: He's Just Been Training
at 23:59:00

I think a significant back injury undid him last time and by the time he was fit again McCarthy had gone with other options. I recall Smith and Chambers having a good partnership for a while but the arrival of Berra and later the injury pushed him down the pecking order. That said it would appear that McCarthy may not have rated him highly enough. Anyway its past history but I still feel that he would definitely add something to the cbs we currently have in terms of a genuine left foot option but sadly feel it wont happen notwithstanding him being at a great age for a cb and having several good years ahead of him..... a great pity

Yes to be certain of promotion the home form has to improve. With respect to the refereeing we need to take problematic/incompetent officials out of the equation by putting the ball in the net a few times in each game, in other words taking our destiny in our own hands ......... coyb
