McKenna: Lots of Good Things, But Lots to Improve Upon
at 23:17:06

A good result and 5-1 on aggregate .That is noting to be sneezed at (from a safe distance in these Covid times). Hopefully we can now pick up some momentum, so hopefully the Lincoln game can safely go ahead and we can pick up another 3 points.

Merry Christmas From TWTD
at 01:15:24

A merry Xmas and an outrageously successful new year to those operating the TWTD site and those posting to it.
The site has been a marvellous resource to me since it began in the early-mid 1990s. It has enabled me to keep up to date with all things ITFC and to read the views of other supporters. Well done TWTD long may you continue......

McGreal Taking It Each Game as It Comes
at 19:03:23

I would not be unhappy with John, Keiran and Rene. Could hardly be any worse than at least the last three managers. I also think that the supporters would really get behind him and KD given their great connection to the club. Certainly preferable to most of the names being bandied around.....coyb

Ipswich Town 2-2 Arsenal U21s (3-4 on pens) - Highlights
at 23:58:01

I would like to say that the result was unbelievable but surrendering 2 goal leads is nothing new for us. Again we seemed to be out-enthused by the opposition who rallied in the second half and we kindly opened the charity shop up for them......

The worst penalty award I have seen. Toto completely turned his back and made no deliberate move to "handle" the ball. It was kicked straight at him.

Walton: It Was About Getting the Job Done

Having a competent and settled keeper is a real bonus. We have struggled in that department since Bart's departure so fingers crossed we can get Christian in permanently.

Ashton: We'll Probably Reshuffle a Little Bit in January
at 01:24:07

I think that an offer should be made for Bonne in January, if it has not already been provided for.
Of the others we certainly want to hold onto Celina and Walton and if he does not have a serious ongoing injury, Coulson. Barry, notwithstanding his rating at Aston Villa has not really stood out as better than Chaplin, Fraser or Celina. I agree with Timmy H that the defense, particularly in my opinion the acquisition of a dominating cb to partner Edmundsen should be the priority. Other than that maybe a left back to compete with Penney if Coulson is likely to continue to struggle with injury. Most other places we seem well stocked for this league but of course you never know who might become available.
One further thing might be who is allowed/encouraged to depart. I suspect there might be more action in that category.....

Schwartz: The Opportunity at Town Was Too Good to Pass Up
at 01:09:12

While first and foremost this is an investment for Gamechanger I do like the fact that this it is something that they have not rushed into. The directors interviewed thus far strike me as thoughtful, balanced and reasonable individuals. While I would have preferred an answer of 10 years plus to their involvement, 7 to 10 years is not unreasonable, particularly if they keep investing in players. By that time we should be back in the Premier League if things go well at which point they would no doubt have reached their objective. So we at least will have a period of stability over the next 7 to 10 years which in today's world, and football in particular, is nothing to sneeze at.... coyb

Ipswich Town 1-1 Oldham Athletic - Match Report
at 07:00:41

It must have been quite a celebration after the Wycombe game. Looking tired and jaded today but hopefully everyone will be back on the horse against Oxford. I exempt Burns from that of course. He has been a marvellous acquisition and appears to walk the walk where consistency is concerned.... coyb

Bonne Named in Zimbabwe Squad
at 23:57:45

Very frustrating for us but good luck to him. Any League 1 goalkeepers reading this news will feel that they can be a bit more relaxed around their goalmouths with him not there.
At least we have some options who can score, Piggot should be fine and Chaplin could play there also with Norwood waiting in the wings as it were. Great that we also have other midfield goal scorers these days.

A great watch. The team is developing to the point where I think they would be very competitive in the Championship but one step at a time we have to get out of this league first.

Walton: Win at Pompey Sends Out Statement to Other Teams
at 08:01:17

Fleetwood's result over Rotherham and Portsmouth's one over Sunderland just show that you have to be on song for every game otherwise you could get thumped. While we have a great selection of attacking players who are all liable to score we do need to stiffen the defense to the point that clean sheets are achieved in the substantial majority of games. If we can do that we really will gallop up the table as with the firepower we now have we should be able to score at least twice in most games..... If we can keep improving the current run will keep going
and hopefully see us well established in the play-off positions by Xmas poised to pressure the top two places by season's end .... coyb

Coulson and Walton Closing in on Returns, Aluko Back But Setback for Nolan
at 00:56:16

While he works his way to full fitness I would like to see Edwards come off the bench around the 60 minute mark.
While preferring 2 up front obviously Cook will stick with just one, Bonne. That would mean the three behind Bonne to start are likely to be Fraser- Chaplin-Burns. While Idris is progressing very well it would be tough to drop Evans just yet given his hattrick against Donny.
A bolter for the No 10 role could be Piggot but I think Chaplin did enough on Tuesday to be given that chance. The bench is going to be pretty strong with Norwood, Idris, probably Piggot, and Barrie. Fingers crossed for a good 3or 4-0 res coyb
