Town Make Rodon Offer - Report
at 07:07:47

If we get both Rodon and Greaves we will be set for years to come. I am sure that K McK will give Woolfy and Cam every chance to stake their claims for a starting role but I suspect that Rodon and Greaves might have an edge. Also let us not forget Fridge and Tuanzebe. The latter also good cover for Johnson at right back.
If this all comes to pass I think that we will have a much stronger starting back line with Leif on the left and decent back up from the bench. Just need to find another left back to keep Leif on his toes.
Overall things are shaping up nicely coyb.......

Blues Target Johnson Turns Down New West Ham Deal
at 07:37:33

Sounds very grounded and very respectful of his parents and others who have helped him. I think that he could be quite a player for us. He looks very competitive in the video and is unlikely to be pushed around. I hope that we sign him next week along with Greaves. Both could cope now and have great potential for the future....coyb

Town Step Up Hutchinson Chase
at 01:58:29

Kieran certainly wants him and given that we know what he can do and his age it would not worry me if we push the boat out a bit in terms of the transfer fee. Beyond that I agree with an earlier poster that we need to address the defense as the top priority after Omari. Two proven Prem quality cb's and left and right full backs plus a midfielder to back up/compete with Sam and Luongo plus one big striker like Moore or McBurnie. Fascinating time ahead....

McKenna: Right to Consider Interest But So Happy With Decision I've Made

Also meant to add that I was pleased to see the size of his salary increase after what he has achieved and could well achieve in the next few seasons.

McKenna: Right to Consider Interest But So Happy With Decision I've Made
at 01:42:24

Delighted that he is staying. His relationship with MA and the owner's representatives must have been a strong factor in his decision. Here he has been backed in the transfer market and left to do his job without the interference that we so often hear of at other clubs where the owners or some board members always seem to think that they know better than the manager. If we can establish ourselves in the Prem in the upcoming season there should be no reason that we cannot be pushing towards , or into, the top six in the following season. The future is the brightest that it has been for decades.....coyb

McKenna Contract Confirmation Now Expected Wednesday
at 02:26:33

This is great news and caps off the marvellous achievements of the past two seasons.
KM's stocks are very high on the back of those achievements and it was no surprise that other clubs were taking notice and keen to talk to him. It is only reasonable that he/his agents listened to them. He also deserves a large pay rise and I hope that his salary is now at least circa 3 or 4x the 1.1m mentioned on here. When he signs, hopefully the next day or so, we can then get on with bringing a few players in and return to the level of stability that has been a hallmark of the current regime.... coyb

Stuttgart Leading Hutchinson Chase Claim
at 02:47:35

A serious attempt by us to buy Hutchinson might help hold McK, especially if Man U either hold on to Ten Hag or move towards someone else rather than
Kieran. I do not see Chelsea or Brighton as being preferable to us for a variety of reasons, most of which have been canvassed on various threads on here.
I consider Man U is the major danger by quite some distance given Kieran's support of them going back to his childhood. I have no doubt that him taking up the hot seat there would be the realisation of a childhood dream and nothing any other club could do would be enough to retain him should he be somewhere other than here. Hopefully the next few days will see an end to the speculation.

Schwartz Flies Over For Talks With Ashton and McKenna
at 02:33:20

I suspect this is not so much about the money as far as KMcK is concerned as we will surely offer him a considerably larger salary to the extent of even doubling what he is presently on.
I suspect for him a chance to manage Man U would be the realisation of a boyhood dream. That dream is the biggest risk to us. Also his achievements with us have his stocks extremely high and I suspect his agent(s) will be pointing that out. The opportunity, should Ten Hag leave, is there now but might not be in the near future by which time Kieran's stocks might have dropped, especially if we struggle and/or got relegated next year. It will be a real test of the man should he be offered the job.
While, if he was, I would wish him all the best and be grateful for his work here. A fascinating few days ahead......

McKenna Representatives Hold Manchester United Talks - Report
at 03:12:42

Many good points made above. I think that Man U would be the most attractive to KMcK given his background there. However, the new ownership and management is a largely unkown quantity and bound to be looking for immediate results. Accordingly I hope that Kieran stays with us for at least next season while he gets a sighter of the Prem as a manger notwithstanding his time as a first team coach at Man U.
The positives with us are good ownership backing and no interference, Mark Ashton, good support staff, a good playing squad that can be further expanded and improved and great fan support. There is also the project that Kieran mentions from time to time the next steps of which should be entrenchment in the Prem and climbing into the top four to get into the Champions League. Given the range of managerial salaries referred to by an earlier poster I would not object if we offered him c10m to keep him here for the foreseeable future by which time we could be competing at the top end of the table. Fingers crossed......

McKenna Wins Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy For Manager of the Year
at 00:58:54

Outstanding achievement. Getting back to the Premier League from where we had fallen in such a short time with Kieran at the helm is probably the clubs greatest achievement in the 50 or so years that I have been a supporter. It is, in my opinion, up there with the FA and UEFA cup wins.
If Kieran should leave, although I do not think that he will just yet, we should not be sad but be eternally grateful for having him here in the first place. As long as we can fund the team and acquisitions that he wants, I think that we will have the pleasure of his talents for a while yet. Cannot wait for the new season to begin.... coyb

McKenna Bookies' Favourite For Brighton Job
at 00:29:23

Supportive and ambitious owners with significant funds, a great club CEO with whom he has a good relationship, fans who adore him and a decent squad of players which can be added to and developed, and a project which is not complete yet. Why would he leave to go to somewhere like BHA or a similar sized club?
In my opinion Man Utd pose a much greater threat to us holding him but we shall have to wait and see. I am expecting him to continue on here for a while yet.

De Zerbi: Sarmiento Was Important For Ipswich
at 02:27:02

Many interesting points made above. I agree that we should try and buy Hutchinson and if we can get him at a reasonable price, Sarmiento also. Both are of a very good age with great potential to develop further under KMcK.
I would not be keen on wholesale changes as it is obviously a tight knit group and we need to be careful to not disrupt that in the way GB did with some of his expensive imports, Sereni and George come to mind.
Introducing say 4 proven Prem performers, a couple at the back, a midfielder and striker should be enough with money being held back for January. The great work ethic and team spirit is invaluable and we need to be careful not to disturb that with wholesale changes and then struggle for a couple of months while the team 'gels' as it will be critical to our survival that we get off to a great start.
In conclusion, I have full confidence in KMcK and MA to manage the resources, players and money, that will be available to them coyb........

Hutchinson Recalled to Chelsea
at 04:53:20

If Chelsea hang out for 20m that is a lot of money for us. I like the idea of a loan, if possible, while we look for Premier proven right cb, midfielder and striker and apply the 20m towards those purchasers .
I suspect Ashton and Kieran will be well aware of some current Championship players who could comfortably step up. We would also be wise to keep funds aside for January in case we get off to a slow start.
Anyway next season is going to be fascinating....coyb

McKenna: Up and Down Game, We Know Saturday Will Be Hard-Fought
at 02:02:25

Roll on Saturday. I agree with the three posters immediately above. Losing only 6 games has been outstanding and is several less than each of the three Prem sides relegated last season.
As with last season the calibre of the players brought in in January has been decisive again. It will be interesting to see what we do in the transfer market at the end of this season ready for the Prem next season. For me the key area for strengthening is the defence especially the cb's.
I am hopeful that Leif will stay but experienced back up for him would be good and maybe the right back position as well. Another midfielder with Prem experience and a striker with successful Prem experience would be good and we could see how things go in the first half of the season. Buying Hutchinson and Keiffer would be good first steps.
Hoping for another great result on Saturday to confirm our promotion .... coyb

Eminently sensible as always. Need to make sure that we have all positions well covered for Saturday. I still pinch myself that we are in the position that we are in.
It was great to win this one and gives us a bit of space for Saturday. If Leeds lose or draw that is it for them as the present points sit. While not wanting to sound churlish I say go Southampton......... coyb

Leicester Thrash Saints to Go Four Points Clear

If we win our last three games we go to 98 points. If Leeds win their last two the best they can do is 96points.,.. so it is completely in our hands.
There is of course the possibilities of losses and draws to mess up my scenario above however fingers crossed that we can claim second place in some style.... coyb
