| Forum Thread | Enforced seat moves at 11:09 27 Apr 2024
I know I should wait until we're promoted before thinking about this, but where are we going to accommodate an extra 1k away fans before the Cobbold is rebuilt? Allocating E block is probably only another 300 seats, so not sure where we plan to put the other 700 supporters?! |
| Forum Thread | Still so many Permutations at 09:41 27 Apr 2024
Still so many permutations it's doing my head in thinking about it. What are the odds that we lose our next two, beat Huddersfield and Leeds only manage a draw against Soton. |
| Forum Thread | Genuine Pitch Question at 07:40 27 Apr 2024
If 10,000 people invade the pitch, will this knacker the hybrid pitch? Obviously the grass will grow back, but I was thinking about the synthetic fibres. I know pitch invasions happen every year when clubs are promoted or avoid relegation etc, but I can't remember the last time this happened in a PL stadium. |
| Forum Thread | Do we want a Sheff Weds win today? at 09:45 21 Apr 2024
I'd quite like Sheff Weds to be relegated, but we could really do with Huddersfield being down before we play them. Much better chance of that happening if Sheff Weds beat Blackburn. |
| Forum Thread | Journey better than the Destination at 06:03 20 Apr 2024
If it all goes t*ts up over the next 2-5 weeks, I'm trying to remind myself that: - I was desperate to escape L1, but don't feel the same about the Championship - it's not sh*t or bust this season, we will go again in 24/25 - I'll be glad to watch football next season without VAR ruining it - the journey is better than the destination according to many supporters - I love our players. Not sure I would feel the same about PL mercenaries. Despite all this, I'd love it if we're promoted! Almost guarantees that KMc and Leif stay. I also trust that our owners would spend the £££s sensibly. |
| Forum Thread | Odds for Ipswich/Southampton Promotion at 06:53 16 Apr 2024
Best odds for Ipswich/Southampton promotion are 28/1. Surprised at that, given it's almost still in Southampton's own hands if they win their remaining games. |
| Forum Thread | Brandon Williams at 06:52 15 Apr 2024
I know it's getting boring now, but internally at least, does anyone know if the club have made a decision that Brandon Williams won't be returning? I know the party line is that he needs to build up a level of fitness at Man United before returning, but it can't be helpful if the club are kept in the dark. |
| Forum Thread | Player Nerves at 16:37 12 Apr 2024
I was thinking about this on a human level after what I thought was a very nervous performance against Watford. The exact figure doesn't matter, but our players are on what roughly, £10k per week. If we're promoted to the PL, those that are still under contract next season will probably get an automatic increase to what roughly, £50k per week. And all players whether in or out of contract next season will probably get a huge promotion bonus. These are potentially life changing numbers, so it's not surprising that as well as looking slightly knackered, our players are probably starting to feel the pressure. |
| Forum Thread | Small Margins at 06:34 7 Apr 2024
As if we didn't know already, this promotion race is likely to be decided by the smallest of margins. Possibly the width of a post that Ashton refers to in interviews. Trying to find a positive from our performance/result yesterday, I've just watched the Coventry v Leeds highlights and Piroe missed a sitter in injury time which obviously would have moved us down to 3rd. Players and fans need to move on quickly from yesterday and ensure we win our next 2 home games. If we can do that, IMO we're in a strong position. We'll know exactly what is required before we play Hull and Coventry, as Leeds will have played 45 games before we kick-off against Hull. |
| Forum Thread | How Many Fecking Points?! at 18:43 2 Apr 2024
I know, enjoy the journey and one game at a time etc. But how many points will be enough? Surely we're not going to see.3 teams finish on 100+ points. |
| Forum Thread | George Hirst at 10:28 30 Mar 2024
So KMc has confirmed that Hirst is back on the grass. Obviously have to be careful with hamstring injuries, but have the club put a timeframe on his return? Would like to think he'll be able to play a part in our last three fixtures, which are still four weeks away. |
| Forum Thread | Season Ticket News at 10:17 17 Mar 2024
I guess the club will announce season ticket prices for 24/25 soon. As long as we keep the 12 month interest free direct debit option (not many clubs offer this) then I'm happy to pay any sort of reasonable increase given the outstanding football we're playing. I guess the price will be the same regardless of PL or CS status, as fewer matches in the PL balances out the increase in price per match. |
| Forum Thread | Soton Ticket Exchange at 06:39 12 Mar 2024
I thought there would be a few Soton tickets pop up for sale, following the Ticket Exchange launch yesterday. But match is still saying sold out. I know this will be a popular fixture and the ticket exchange is currently only available to ST holders with a membership, but there are always supporters who can't attend for whatever reason. I hope the system is used as it's a win-win for everyone. |
| Forum Thread | Suggestion re. PR Atmosphere at 11:01 3 Mar 2024
Plenty of comments about the PR atmosphere (or lack of) and how Block A and North Stand aren't in sync, West Stand and SAR don't join in etc. IMO the best way to get everyone involved, is for Block A/North Stand to start a chant that can easily be sang seated...and stick at it until all four stands join in. So often songs peter out before they've got going. e.g. realistically the Allez Allez Allez and Super KMc songs are never going to be sang all around the ground. But Town Go Marching In or Blue Army (for example) are songs that the oldies can easily join in with and remain seated. |
| Forum Thread | Enjoy the Journey at 09:46 2 Mar 2024
Love the 'enjoy the journey' message from McKenna. Obviously I want us to be promoted, otherwise what's the point. But as long as McKenna is still in charge next season, part of me isn't that bothered. League One was horrible and the thought of another season at that level horrified me 12 months ago. But I don't feel the same this season. Championship football is competitive. We play wonderful football at a sold out Portman Road. No VAR. It's only really the £100M and the opportunity to keep Leif Davis that's attractive! |
| Forum Thread | 22k Season Tickets at 06:59 2 Mar 2024
Interesting that MA said in his interview that we now had 22,000 season ticket holders. Sounds like we oversold last spring, when the sale window had to close early to allow for renewals. There will always be supporters who don't renew for a variety of reasons, so I wonder if the club will look to reduce this number back to 20/21k for next season. Especially as we'll have to accommodate 3k away supporters if we're promoted. Certainly more income if the club sell a higher proportion of matchday tickets. I guess the trick is to ensure we continue to sell out each week. Plus I guess we need to sell a certain number of season tickets, as this is guaranteed income for FFP accounting purposes. |
| Forum Thread | Summer Transfer Window at 06:09 26 Feb 2024
The following players are out of contract in the summer. I guess the club are waiting to see which division we're in next season, before deciding whether to offer new contracts/activate 1 year extensions for: Hladky Walton Burgess Tuanzebe Donacien Ball Aluko Jackson Hayes El Mizouni Camara Some obvious departures in that list regardless of division (e.g. Aluko). It's clearly going to be another busy summer transfer window, especially as we'll need to replace (or potentially sign) the five players currently in on loan. |
| Forum Thread | Morsy heading for 3 match ban at 08:45 11 Feb 2024
That's 11 bookings now. Pretty sure he'll pick up 4 more in the next 13 games, so we'll have to do without him for 3 matches at some point. Guess this is one of the reasons we signed Lewis Travis. |
| Forum Thread | Plenty of Positives... at 16:57 27 Jan 2024
We're not in League One We don't support Sheff Weds, Derby, Charlton or Reading We're having an amazing season (despite the result today) We have a brilliant manager (despite the result today) We have brilliant owners who work within FFP limits Norwich, assuming they don't sneak into the play-offs and fluke promotion, are going nowhere without their parachute payments COYB! |
