When did you lose faith in survival?
at 17:20 26 Apr 2025

Yeah.

Didn't want to feel this way as it's not really how things work but it was a bit 'well if we can't even beat *them*'...

I know you're being a complete divvy that much is for sure.

What is being gained by who from fixing a game between a Champions League chasing team and one that's as good as relegated?

Was always going to happen. Our fanbase is full of total divs, and this embarrassment is another piece of evidence in the folder for having everyone's priority points reset next season.

Just absolutely not true about the penalty rules at all.

The squad
at 23:17 23 Apr 2025

Would maybe switch Broadhead and Ogbene as the latter will share that right hand side duty with Burns and we've seen what happens when we don't have someone like them in the team, and the former has at least a couple if not three players ahead of him in his position as it is.

I wouldn't lose Broadhead completely as someone with his ability who's capable of hitting double figures at Champ level is certainly a good option to have, though he's unlikely to get in many weeks over Clarke and Jaden if everyone's fit and firing.

Could argue Burns should be bumped up to Tier 1 given the above about how we need that right hand side to work and he does such a good job of it it's often called 'the Burns role'.

Seven straight home defeats
at 18:14 20 Apr 2025

Yeah, thought we were actually much better against them this time than last year despite the different results (and very different feelings!) but the lack of confidence and execution to put away a team as crap as that put the writing on the wall.

Wolves score a decent free kick

Yeah, was surprised they were anywhere near the bottom 3 at all to start with; their squad is incredibly capable at this level.

Goes to show really how big the gap is that you now need one established club to have an absolute meltdown just to give one promoted team a chance of staying up.

Why do people enjoy slating the team / manager / Davis so much?
at 17:21 20 Apr 2025

Some of the forced positivity has been a bit grating but there are several people who have spent the whole season self-hating and slagging off the players and/or the fans at every opportunity they get.

First season in the Prem for 2 decades and they've wasted it being complete melts. Shame really.

Anyone getting genuinely downbeat or het up about being comfortably beaten by a team like Arsenal is a bit of a div to be fair.

Fair play to our support really
at 17:09 20 Apr 2025

Think it's a bit daft to get wound up by that sort of thing really. Pantomime-y chants are just part and parcel of it even if they're usually nonsense to some degree. Gets a back and forth going at least which adds to the atmosphere.

And I'm saying that as someone who will happily deride 90+% of our fans as total simpletons.

Manure blowing it big time.

Lyon completely bottled that - the better team across the game but crumbled at the death.

Probably feel a bit hard done by going down to 10 because a Utd player tripped themselves up.

If the situation was entirely different then there may have been a different response, yes.

Not sure what relevance that has.

So accepting Delap will move on...
at 11:39 10 Apr 2025

Chelsea probably. A bit of a basket case sure but will enjoy linking up with Cole Palmer again and will more likely get used properly.

Utd seem to have developed a knack of draining the lifeblood out of any promising talent that passes through their door and can't seem to find a way to get the best out of any of their players. Would be much more of a risk for him going there imo.

Grounds with small away allocations next season:
at 19:29 9 Apr 2025

Not sure there's a lot they can do really. Guess the question is what they do about membership prices - bit cheeky to be charging £40 when they know full well only a (relatively) select number of people will actually be able to buy away tickets.

Think that was because the release clause was made up by the agent trying to get him a move.

Baggott to return?

Suspect we'd hoped he would have kicked on a bit more by now if we were going to see him as a genuine back-up to Greaves at Championship level.

I've always liked him when I've seen him play but wonder if we've just outgrown him and aren't in the position to just drop him in and see if he thrives?
