Tokyo/Osaka experts
at 10:02 16 Apr 2025

4/5 days in Tokyo is perfect, and Osaka is great for food/drink and lots to do for a day or two - but it is super close to Kyoto/Nara/Kobe on the train too (you don't even have to get bullet trains, a lot cheaper to get the more 'regular' services from Osaka to those places). I'd advise allotting a day or two in Osaka to popping by Kyoto and Nara (can't speak for Kobe as I didn't go!).

I wouldn't buy train tickets in advance, it's very easy to get them at the stations on the day. From what I read online before I went, getting them off external sites can result in headaches.

Does recruitment seem odd to anyone else??

Is it as simple as Enciso and Philogene in to replace J Clarke (way off it) and Ogbene (out for the season)?

What sort of fee would we get for Braodhead?

Less than we'd get for Jack Clarke, an inferior player at the moment. That's why it's not good business for me.

Oppenheimer Movie - 3hrs of my life I want back
at 18:10 2 Aug 2023

The film is called Oppenheimer. It is very clear, it's even at the top of the ticket when you walk in. I am quite confident most people did not see a big explosion in the trailers and think that there would be little else to the story than said explosion.

Christ alive. Surely the literal name of the film was a dead give away as to what the film would be about.

Not sure what happened to those involved but the building is fine, just a sign that's been knocked off by the look of things.

A good choice - good range of beer and quick service. Usually have a hot food stand out in the alley/garden

The Wolsey is always packed before a game, so it will most certainly be open, but might not be the best place if you want somewhere to sit down.

If we developed an edge of town/out of town new stadium I'd not bother going anymore. Walking down to the town, having a few drinks, is all part of the match day for me. Sod slogging it to the edge of the A14 for the Coca-Cola Stadium.

Everything else - great stuff!

This petition set up by Dorking Wanderers last night seems to have got a bit of attention on Twitter. I think that football games are to be shown in Vue cinemas yet (very reduced capacity etc.) pilots have not restarted at outdoor stadiums says it all, really.

May be of interest to some!

"Global strategic conferences summits and corporate marketing events"

I expect Marcus' wallet will be hit quite considerably.
