 | News Comment | Al-Hamadi West Brom Move Breaks Down at 22:35:15
He hasn’t got a future at Town. Not his fault, as some have said, but if we stay up or go down he won’t get a look in. He’s a L1 striker at best, and he needs to move on permanently for his own career progression. |

 | News Comment | Elliott: I'm Disappointed Not to Have Won It at 20:12:12
Small man syndrome Wade. Only 1 team was going to win that in the 2nd half. Shame for Walton who's been outstanding, as that was an absolute stinker from him, but we've ridden our luck over this winning streak so it's done now and we move on to (hopefully) 6 points from Charlton and PV. COYB. |
 | News Comment | Aluko Set to Return Against Posh at 18:48:57
Aluko is always nice to watch and some much needed cover in that area, but Evans is the big miss. He has been our best player this season and once he's back I think we will start to push on again. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Fleetwood Goal Unfortunate and Undeserved For the Efforts the Players Put In at 01:59:57
Excuses will be made, but our home form hasn't been good enough for a team that wants to go up automatically and that stretches back to last season under McKenna. Our lack of killer instinct when we should be in for the kill and our inability to hold on to leads home and away could well end up costing us dearly if it isn't sorted out NOW. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Fleetwood Town - Match Report at 22:07:19
Lincoln, Cheltenham and now Fleetwood. We have a PR problem that's not going away. It's also a score first and then immediately sit back and invite trouble problem. McKenna has got a problem. First time this season I am thinking we maybe have a problem. |
 | News Comment | Portsmouth Papa Johns Trophy Tie Date Set at 16:24:08
Not sure any thought for fans goes in to these decisions. 12pm KO at Exeter is ridiculous, just so it can be squeezed in for Sky. 6am start on Saturday will be fun! |
 | News Comment | Burns Left Out of Wales Squad at 23:57:10
He probably would have made the WC squad if it had been played summer 2022 as his form in the 21/22 season was excellent. He's been very inconsistent so far in 22/23 (not sure what's happened to him and JD down the right) and has also been a defensive liability this season so can't say i'm surprised. Morsy, Walton and Burns were guaranteed to start last season but Burns isn't a guaranteed pick atm. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-1 Lincoln City - Match Report at 17:37:26
We can't afford to play so badly in the first half of a home game if we seriously want to get in the top 2. No excuse for that today with 27,000 fans behind the team. |
 | News Comment | Fans Refunded Plymouth Coach Travel as Goodwill Gesture at 18:43:49
Absolutely ridiculous having the KO at 12:30pm on a Sunday considering the distance and how early fans need to set off. Moving from a Saturday afternoon has ruined a great away day for what is a massive L1 game. |
 | News Comment | Bakinson Joins Owls at 20:51:02
We don't want average. He wants regular football but won't get it at Wednesday or Ipswich. I can see him moving on loan in January to find regular football, maybe even to L2. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: It’s Already Pretty Fixed in My Mind What Needs to Be Improved in the Summer at 23:38:38
A really disappointing end to the season, but McKenna needs the summer transfer window and a summer with the players to get things sorted. He's done well with Cook's hastily assembled group, but as we've all seen, only half a dozen of them are nailed on starters. Young manager with lots to learn but I'm backing McKenna to work out how to get us out of L1 next season. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Game Summarised Some of the Best of Us and Some of the Things We Need to Improve at 13:47:18
There were quite a few positives to take from last night's game. Coming back to lead from behind when we struggle to score goals was good to see. We were more direct at times, had a few shots and got some crosses in. Pretty basic stuff, but it hasn't been happening. The 2 goals came from us winning a 2nd ball in the box and from a cross nodded back across goal which was good to see, rather than us trying to score the perfect goal. Bakinson and Thompson's mistakes cost us two very soft goals. McKenna has had to work with what he inherited and what he could bring in on loan, but I doubt he will want to keep either of these 2 for next season. @BossMan - I agree that Chaplin will be an important player for us in L1 next season. Celina and Aluko are maybe too luxury/inconsistent for this gritty level of football, but keeping them depends on whether we can find better suited options for L1. The core of the squad is decent. Our keeper and defence is sorted. We obviously need another quality CM as we rely too heavily on Morsy. A couple of left sided options (ideally a left footed Burns) and a couple of proven L1 goalscorers like Ladapo or Clarke-Harris. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Don’t Kill Off Games Well Enough at 12:03:57
That was another painfully boring match to watch. Yes we play neat passes around the middle and work the ball well across from both flanks, but we are totally clueless when we reach the final 3rd. I don't believe Alfie May, Cole Stockton or Joe Ironside etc are better players than our strikers, but why do they score regularly? Because they play a system that they understand and creates chances from balls in to the the box, winning 2nd balls and living off forced errors. We are trying to play like a team that's in the Premier League and it doesn't work. We dominate the ball with the players we have which is expected, but we have to take a more L1 approach to the final 3rd and take shots on, bombard the box with crosses and win games scoring some scrappy goals rather than always looking for the 50 pass super goal. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-1 Cambridge United - Match Report at 18:57:14
We should be given Championship or even Prem refs with crowds of 26,500. Not for the first time this season the officials were out of their depth today and failed to control slow play and make correct judgement calls. It didn't help that we were shiit today but something the EFL needs to look at for next season. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Could Very Easily be Sitting Here Off the Back of Two Wins, We Should Be at 20:41:14
Yeah we should have got 6 points Kieron, but we didn't. He has sorted out the back and middle, but our lack of scoring prowess is identical to the last couple of months under Cook's reign. Clearly we are a better team under KM but I really don't like his rotation of the front 3. I really believe that it's his front 3 rotation that's causing the problem. I like Aluko, Nors and Bonne, but surely away from home at a scrappy team on a blowy day we want Pigott as the out ball and Jackson on the scraps? Maybe for all the modern day analysis and squad friendly rotation, our young manager needs to learn to trust in form and give his best 3 options a run in the team? |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Disappointed, Frustrated Dressing Room at 23:56:23
@Fat Boy Dim - defensive record alongside the ‘goal threat'? What goal threat have I been missing each of the last 11 games I've watched? For a team that has soooo much possession each game, we do not carry a goal threat which is why we've only scored 14 goals in the last 11 games! We were lucky to beat Gills 1-0 and had we not we'd have drawn 3 of the last 4 games 0-0. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Disappointed, Frustrated Dressing Room at 23:36:20
14 goals scored in his 11 games in charge and 7 of them came in 2 games. Doesn't matter how many clean sheets we keep, those goal scoring stats won't get us promoted. Keep rotating the strikers and none of them will get red hot and right now the only thing the side is missing is a striker bang in form like Bonne was early season. |
 | News Comment | Town Announce Partnership With HerGameToo at 23:11:50
Oh Notts Tractor, pop a nurofen and toughen up. Women's football has come on leaps and has a large, mainly respectful following these days, and decent coverage on Sky Sports. Football is a working man's game and has been for over a 100 years. I took my 13 year old son to his 1st away game at MK Dons on Saturday and we ended up sitting next to a guy who dropped the C Bomb every 3rd word. Should I start a campaign for more respectful language at football matches? It is what it is and it always will be, whether ‘Wokes' ‘Wet Wipes' or ‘Karen's like you want to change it or not. If you don't like the beans… don't eat the Burrito. |
