I know he'll probably leave with KMc if he goes, but my dark horse candidate would be Martyn Pert.
Love the idea of an internal promotion - knows the players, knows the ethos, has been a big part of the vision.
I know it's unlikely, but I haven't seen anyone mention him so think it's interesting to think about |

think yours is super cool - would love to have something quite out there like that!
thought it'd give it a crack myself and gone quite boringly realistic - really liked the darker blue we had as a trim on this years kit so i prompted it to keep that. Get rid of the stripes for this season and get some white sleeves back for a season.

I reckon he'll be given the pre-season with us and then most likely a short-term loan to a bottom end Champ side but also could definitely earn his way into the squad.
McKenna clearly rates him but it's just a matter of showing him how much he's improved in the last 10 months |

this seems like the best option to me.
let him get a pre-season somewhere else in the Champ and see if he can translate his League 1 success in a Championship side that won't be expecting to go straight back up.
If he looks the part, bring him back in Jan, if not so much, let him finish the season where he is
I personally want to see him thrive here :) |

I have to say, I thought the subs yesterday we pretty spot on bar bringing on Philogene when we were so pinned back (we almost suffered the consequence of that decision).

We're currently screaming for someone to glue it together at that end of the pitch and Hirst can be the answer.
Hirst, Woolfie and Chaplin are the 3 that understand McKenna's system the most and it's so obvious when you watch any of them play. |

Always felt like a game where, if they scored first, we would come undone and unfortunately that's what happened.
Up until that point it really was a very equal game and I was quite proud of how we were playing.

I suspect that the plan is for Godfrey, who can play in the centre of midfield, to play as a RB/right sided CB that can progress into midfield to join Morsy and Cajuste (or whoever plays). This will in turn give us more bodies in the centre of the park that will then help us progress the ball on the floor rather than looking long.
Think of how Arsenal play with Timber / Lewis-Skelly or City with Gvardiol |

can't see a betting sponsor personally. they're banned from '26 onwards and it seems like a whole lot of paperwork just to sponsor us for a year, not to mention as others have previously stated, Ashton doesn't fancy it. |
