I'm simultaneously distraught that he's leaving and also incredibly impressed and delighted at the deal we've got for him |

Yep, you're bang on here. Really surprised at how often people lament our links with strikers with 'bad scoring stats'. Our system has always been primed for the players behind the striker to feed off of and score goals, rather than the striker himself score the goals. Yes, obviously you still want the striker to reach double digits, but more of our goals will come from the Clarkes, Szmodiczs, Chaplins, and Philogenes of the world |
 | Forum Reply | Offer in for Jens Cajuste at 09:34 1 Aug 2025
To be fair, I'm not saying this is the case - but if the offer to Napoli has switched from an optional clause to a mandatory one, that does change the offer for Jens because it offers him longer term stability if he knows he'd be staying beyond the loan period |

crazy that he was 16/17 in these clips too... Must've grown in that time as Transfermarkt now has him down as 6'1 Wherever he ends up he definitely looks like a hell of a talent |

Just seen his son is a free agent too - I wonder if we'll sign him for the U21s as part of the deal |

No Boniface or Mendel-Idowu either - reckon it's the same for them? I see neither of them were at Leiston, not sure about the Slovakian game |

On top of that just from a quick scan seems like he's a caring bloke (few posts about supporting players and managers' mental health) - perfect for being in charge of our youngsters. Great hire. |
 | Forum Reply | Humphreys is 21, Baggott is 22 at 11:08 14 Jul 2025
Humphreys is very good - we'd definitely be looking at him. He won Wycombe's Supporters' Player of the Year and their Young Player of the Year awards. And, as an anecdote, my barber is a season ticket holder at Leyton Orient and said that, in both fixtures, Cam was the standout player "he should be nowhere near League 1". I think he'll be given the full pre-season to show how he's improved in the last 12 months before any decision is made [Post edited 14 Jul 11:24]

Lots of people worried about his height - he's taller than Morsy if that helps anyone relax a bit... and as other's have noted, his aerial duel stats are well above average anyway |
 | Forum Reply | Great to see Ogbene back for preseason at 12:29 5 Jul 2025
Strong agree with this! Hutch - Szmodics - Ogbene would be my preferred three behind Hirst with Clarke - Chaplin - Jaden as subs / rotation with Burns to be the like-for-like sub / rotation with Ogbene when he's back. |

Puma can be a bit hit or miss (I'm wearing last season's beautiful St Pauli kit as I write this) but would still be excited by them. Likewise I'd take Hummel too, would suit the 'retro'-ey styles that we've been donning for the last few years - they've made some nice ones for Coventry in recent years. But, tbh, if we sign with anything that isn't Castore, I'll be happy |
 | Forum Reply | Derby fend of interest from Ipswich to sign….. at 12:22 5 Jul 2025
I'm presuming the difference has been that Derby are pitching to him to come and be their main man - not sure our pitch would be the same with George Hirst just signing a new contract with us. Shame to miss out on him because he looks a good player for our system, but can't blame him if the above is the reason why he's chosen the Rams over us |
